RE: Your excuse for Ishgard? - Uther - 05-10-2015

Uther Skystrider, my first character, is from Ishgard and has already gone back. I probably won't be playing him until the expansion. Eko Tenok, my current character, is going there in hopes of finding Uther and helping him however he can.

Graeham hopes to forge stronger ties between Ishgard and the rest of Eorzea. He's also caught the interest of an Ishgardian who has become a friend and lover so he'll be seeking to aid his companion when outsiders are permitted entry. Other than that? His youthful curiosity will win out and he'll want to see it for himself.

I didn't want him to simply show up and enter abruptly though. I've been enjoying a solid storyline with a friend that'll conclude with him being permitted entry as an ally of his travelling companion once Heavensward is upon us.

Knowledge. Think of all that sweet, sweet knowledge and lands she can explore and learn.

He he he. Easy wasn't it?
I'm in the same boat.  Though Jess's homecoming is more for...revenge, of sorts, and less a desire to actually visit Ishgard, lol

For Martiallais, same deal.

With Zarek, it's probably going to be one part testing himself and one part that the Free Company he works with is moving to aid Ishgard now that the gates are open. Ishgard will be a nice new land to wander around and find nice spots to relax in, aside from the whole war with dravanians thing.

Nailah:

She is a woman who adores travelling more than anything, and quite likely, anyone. She's going to go as soon as she deems it safe enough, and she is going to be VERY excited about it.

Hmm, I presume the Immortal Flames will be sent up there...they were for 2.55 at least! And considering that us PCs will always have ties to Grand Companies (technically), I think there'll be some handwavey excuses available.

That sort of what im thinking. Some sort of exploratory or diplomatic escort business.

My character works at a smithy and is hoping to find new clients there.

On that note, if anyone wanted a reason to go.. she's no fighter, so might need a merc escort to travel there safely. Smile

RE: Your excuse for Ishgard? - Flickering Ember - 05-10-2015

This for me.
Ember really doesn't like cold environments to the point of fearing them. Not all points of Heavensward areas are locked into eternal winter but if they are rather cold as well, just minus the snow or if she has to go through Coerthas to get to them, then I can't see her going.

Unless I end up losing a lot of RP by not allowing her to go then I suppose I will try to find an excuse.

RE: Your excuse for Ishgard? - Kurt S. - 05-10-2015

Ramona and Nah would go up there for various reasons but the common denominator would be 'adventure'

Ramona also believes she could maybe harvest some new materials to add to her business's selection of raw materials or open up a branch in Ishgard with the help of her NPC elezen retainer...at least Ramen thinks that Elezen is Ishgardian...can't be too hard to pass her off as one if she isn't just gotta teach her how to permanently point her elezen nose upward and act more racist and Xenophobic.

Nah would find a very Nah reason to go up there on top of going on an adventure.

Kurt's at the mercy of the RWings. So unless they send him on a venture there or something, he might not get much of a chance considering how far and hard it might be to travel Ul'dah-Ishgard as opposed to Ul'dah-Gridania/Limsa.

Yvelont will, of course, be going home for the expansion and the plot is already in progress as we speak. It involves heretics (natch), his stepfather, a not-so-dead-as-previously-thought brother, and a ragtag group of so-called "Free Knights." Gonna be fun.

RE: Your excuse for Ishgard? - KHMarie - 05-10-2015

Serylda's adoptive family's origins stem back to Ishgard, mostly gotta due with Dragoon duty. :^)

RE: Your excuse for Ishgard? - CrimsonMars - 05-11-2015

Other than being convinced by her friends (because Chiyo has mixed feelings about Ishgard) the only other reason to go there would be...

FLYING MOOOOUNTS!

RE: Your excuse for Ishgard? - Nataru - 05-11-2015

Lots of shiny treasure and relics there. @.@
