RE: Claim your fighting game style! - Reiner Dorn - 02-16-2016 It's a hard one to go with as there arn't -toooo- many magical fighters. But I would have to go with Castlevania's Judgement's Dracula. The use of his magical powers to shield him almost reflexively, and the set ups for powerful spells. Reiner uses either small trap like spells to get someone open, or either opening or closing with large overkill spells. He views mages in a militaristic sense often in battle, like artillery. ((Sadly there are very few videos of the game online.)) While he stills attempts it at times, Reiner has grown far to old and injured over the years to continue as a hand to hand fighter, and likely as a martial fighter all together. Due to his large size he often has joint and bone issues, but in his prime this would be his hand to hand ((Not Hakan Because that shit ain't oil wrestling really.)) Though He has trained an apprentice El Silverkin, unlocking her skills as a melee grappler. and teaching her to breech into the use of lightning aether. with SF5 this is rather fitting. The first thing I think of when connecting Arblis to Fighting Game stuff is: I could make a quick and simple suggestion - inspiration for DRKs everywhere. RE: Claim your fighting game style! - Sylastair - 02-16-2016 Flynt's style is very much inspired off of this character actually, since I loved Soul Caliber and specifically the character Kilik. It's important to note that his personal fighting style is somewhat divided, as how he combats monsters and scalekin is vastly different than how he fights people, as Jumps in the traditional sense are often less effective in his eyes against human combatants.Â

Much of this style is ever growing, as it is a project of his to develop his own unique style based on Gridanian, Al Mhigan, Ishgardian and Doman techniques and texts revolving around them. The above video represents what I imagine the perfection of this style would look like, and what Flynt's endstate would probably be. Below isn't a fighting game, but since it matches with the above so well (and I love the video/song pairing) I will add it!

RE: Claim your fighting game style! - Reiner Dorn - 02-16-2016 Flynt that wu-tang with the clip really works too well RE: Claim your fighting game style! - ProvaDiServo - 02-16-2016 So...... Tah is a hodgepodge of all things I love in a fighter. to boil her down to a few characters is really rough but the central characters are definitely: Alice is easier Just add: RE: Claim your fighting game style! - ChewableMorphine - 02-16-2016 I feel like I've been summoned to this thread. Anyway, considering how Flynt's both a marauder and a ninja, we can play the groove rules here like SNK v Capcom. For Ninja Flynt, most definitely he'll play projectiles and hard hitting mediums into ultras. Best character who'd fit the bill would be DIO in Heritage for The Future. I could only wish to be ICly do timestops and roadrollers lmfao. For Marauder Flynt there's no doubt about it he'd play like Shadow Labrys from Persona 4 Arena/Ultimax, obviously replace Asterius with like, I'dunno, one-handed punches. Flynt tends to vary between hand to hand and using the axe. However, if we're talking about 3D fighters, NINFlynt: Sweet soviet Krav Maga WARFlynt: Corny as it is, Astaroth fights as Flynt would; grapples and heavies. RE: Claim your fighting game style! - ChewableMorphine - 02-16-2016 Actually, something even closer to Flynt would be Big Bull in Anarchy Reigns (remember that game? Me neither.), but I hardly recognized it much of a fighter. It still works, though. RE: Claim your fighting game style! - Warren Castille - 02-16-2016 I'll take basically any parts of this. Edit: My favorite trivia is that Brad Pitt and Eric Bana had a gentlemen's bet for all of the practice of that scene, if I recall correctly it was a thousand dollars per accidental smashing with a prop. They earned a lot of bruises for that choreography. Double edit: Fine with this one, too. RE: Claim your fighting game style! - Asmodean - 02-17-2016 For Asmodean it would really end up being what mood he's in when a fight breaks out for how he would fight. If he didn't really care who e was fighting or just needed to knock the attacker aside, he would end up being very aggressive using his ax more like a hatchet and mixing in a lot chain wrapped punches much like Sol Badguy... just without the air combo and fire.... or proto-gear dragon thing. >.>;;; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOC0mU5zr2s If Asmo couldn't end a fight quickly or respects the person he's fighting, duel or otherwise, the midlander would take his time and use the full reach of his ax, aiming to disable or knock his opponent out cold. If it means using his ax like a man catcher to lift them in to the air before slamming then in to the group then so be it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5Rsjzpum78 Then this is just... Pain. It will only hurt... a lot. Thankfully, Asmo has never been push to this level of anger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFZ9-N2LeMY |
