There'd be an immense demand for highly skilled metalworkers of all kinds, with contracts for items needed for military, bureaucratic, mercantile and personal use flying all over. Let the interconnection BEGIN! ![]() RE: IC Store Questions - Gospel Gestalt - 06-26-2013 This actually is pretty darn spiffy! 1. Does this concept feel forceful onto the player base? Doesn't seemed forced at all. Infact I'd love to see more people try and do stuff like that! 2. I plan to make an IC flyer and post it on the RP section of the forums, would that be acceptable? I don't see anything wrong with it? Flyers are a great way to get people interested and curious about what kind of trinkets your shop deals in. 3. Is there any changes or suggestions you would like to make as a community? I was actually wondering if you and Isilme would be willing to maybe do co-op RP sometime with our character stores? IC Gospel owns an automaton manufacturing shop that's been pretty successful but like all shops, it would be in constant demand for materials (Metal, ore etc.). I could easily see Gospel coming to Nel for materials and maybe even requesting to have trade routes and stuff? (Maybe RP stuff like Caravan runs with chocobo companions) I really think this is a great idea and think you two should totally go for it! Thanks a ton! seems like we now have a supplier and a buyer with player characters! (not to mention some NPCs on the side too, but nothing to substantial) RE: IC Store Questions - Elkabong419 - 06-26-2013 No, I don't think it's forced at all. I think this is a great idea, and actually hope more people follow suit. Could you imagine a night that is like a "bazaar" night, where characters wander in and out of shops and what not? I also like the thought that you are going to be in a city. Kinda gives pc's a place to wander into in between quests and what not. RE: IC Store Questions - Curtis West - 06-26-2013 ELU is not a guild, please check out the LS post. I can think of someone who could probably use a job that might be a fine choice to work as a sales representative. Just saying. RE: IC Store Questions - Jonexe - 06-26-2013 To echo everyone else, I think it sounds like an excellent idea. One thing you might also consider is selling items on consignment. Perhaps, for example, you have no skill in alchemy. Someone else does, but they have no funds to own and operate a store front. Maybe you sell their items as specialties for a limited time, while taking a small cut for using your store front? That way some other folks, like the blacksmith out in the wild, can build their businesses too, in a different way. It also would help foster other forms of RP other than "Hi, I'd like to buy something!" Sounds like an interesting idea. Mind you I don't think we'd sell other armor stuff as we would make it ourselves ^^; RE: IC Store Questions - Jonexe - 06-26-2013 (06-26-2013, 07:35 PM)Nel Celestine Wrote:(06-26-2013, 07:34 PM)Jonexe Wrote: To echo everyone else, I think it sounds like an excellent idea. Well of course not; but never underestimate impulse buyers! "That's some heavy armor you've picked out. How about this nice potion here? We have a supplier that hasn't even HIT the wider markets yet. Mixes every potion by hand, personally! Don't you want that kind of quality?" RE: IC Store Questions - Nel Celestine - 06-26-2013 Indeedy do ![]() RE: IC Store Questions - Seohyun - 06-26-2013 (06-26-2013, 05:56 PM)Curtis West Wrote: Hmmm, is the time right? I am asking simply out of my own curiosity and lack of lore knowledge post-cataclysm. Seven months after the big boom, would there be shops popping up? This is relevant to my character personally seeing as he is a smith, and possible connections can be made here. I've kind of RPed him being out and about surviving in the wild for two years while the cities were just beginning to recover. If they bounced back quicker than that, do let me know. Idk, I think right after the post apocalypse would be the best time for a shop to open up. If you think about it, so much has been destroyed. People are in panic and chaos. There's money to be made in chaos, people want to stock up on food, water, supplies to ensure their survival. Ontop of that, a lot of other merchants could have had their things destroyed, some of the big competition could be dead for all we know. So opening up 7 months would sound a little genius if it was out of greed for gil, or charity or a mixture of both. I love it and I could see Uther and my possible alt Wart both being loyal customers. 1. No 2. Yes 3. Not at all, I'll even advertise for you by IC word-of-mouth. RE: IC Store Questions - racooperii - 06-26-2013 I think this a great idea! Ive always loved the idea of player run content, shops, traveling minstrils, ect. I would definately be a patron of such an establishment, so long as rhe prices are fair and goods plentiful ![]() RE: IC Store Questions - Y'sehr - 06-26-2013 This is a lovely idea, and I would gladly patronize you! I will also mirror Uther and say that I would also tell others about you. I think the community feeling would be great. It's also, honestly, what I do with places I like, so it seems pretty natural. I bet it's also a lot more fun than buying from NPCs. I hope it works out! |
