It's so hard to choose. I could go highland hyur, but I also have some old low level transfers from ffxiv 1.0. One of those is Suemyr Moonshadow, my thm moon kitty, who I still have the citizen slip for. My first ffxi character was a Galka monk, so I might go hellsguard.

I selected female miqo'te, as she's likely to be my main, but I also have plans for elezen, a lalafel, and a highlander at the very least.

I made a lallafel female just to see the emotes during the last few hours of the latest beta. Some of my friends gathered and decided to roleplay, so I joined them.
The character has grown on me, so I think she'll be my main now, at least for roleplaying purposes.

I'm going Male Hyur. I like their naming convention the best and I'm very particular about my character names. I considered male Miqo'te but their tribal thing doesn't appeal to me. Yeah, yeah I know I can roll up one that grew up in the city but I like to keep my guys away from being outliers when it comes to their backgrounds.
