Re: The competition - Tadir - 08-16-2010

This is the Old Republic timeline. Takes place several thousand years before ANH.

Re: The competition - Hiname - 08-16-2010

Hmm.. the KotoR games are republic time as well, are they not? The sith were gone that time for qutie a good deal of time already. *thinks more*

Re: The competition - Kashemia - 08-16-2010

They have Seith as a race? I haven't seen that anywhere, is it new info?

Re: The competition - Hiname - 08-16-2010

Heard it in the weekly mmo-report, when they mentioned Miraluka, Sith-Purebloods, the Darth-Maul dudes and a greenskin whose name I never heard about.

Re: The competition - Tadir - 08-16-2010

I never heard that one. The sith at this point in star wars history are mostly human though.

Re: The competition - Hayden - 08-16-2010

Can we open a new thread for a discussion strictly about Star wars please, and keep this thread for what it was created for? Please? Thanks.

Re: The competition - Mycroft - 08-16-2010

Interesting.. But why add races that fare best as Jedi/Sith.. We all know that Smuggler is where it's at.

Back on topic.
While there isn't any exact date, I'm looking forward to Fallout Online like a child looks forward to Christmas.
Post-apocalyptic settings (on Earth) make for great MMO material in my book.

Re: The competition - Tadir - 08-16-2010

Fallout Online? Hadn't heard of that one. I'll have to go look that up.

*goes to look that up*

Re: The competition - Satrina - 08-16-2010

I was looking at Star Wars:The Old Republic..but meh everything ive seen from that game makes me cringe. Guild Wars 2 looks promising, even though that's not really a MMO to speak of. I might screw around on my gf's WoW account for Cataclysm to check out the new areas, but not going to bother doing anything more on that front. TERRA looked interesting, but it just comes across as yet another korean MMO that will be junk 2 months in. I've been waiting...5+yrs for FFXIV, going to play it for some time before even giving thought to another MMO.

Re: The competition - Monadi - 08-16-2010

I'd sell my soul for Guild Wars 2 early access.

Which might not cover it; I hear souls aren't worth much these days, but still.

I'm going to bug the HELL out of my friend who works at Arena.NET for closed beta access. Tongue

Re: The competition - Trizzip - 08-16-2010

Yar, I'm a HUGE Fallout fan. I'm looking forward to Fallout Online but I'm worried about the liscence rights battle between Bethesda and Interplay. I'd have to say that I really love what Bethesda is doing with the series and would kind of prefer to see Bethesda run the MMO, but oh well. I'll see what is in store for the future.

Re: The competition - Dogberry - 08-17-2010

The Warhammer 40K MMO is something I've been looking forward to, but footage I've seen makes it look a little like a WoW clone, which isn't promising. I don't want to do quests, I want to WAAAAAAAAAGH against the 'umies. WFB online had great PVP, but it was sealed off from the rest of the game and you usually had to wait for a match to start. I'd like to be able to spawn on a planet and get involved in a fight.

Re: The competition - Nikolai - 08-17-2010

I'm surprised no one else has said this yet: If FFXIV doesn't work out for me, I'll likely go back to FFXI, if I go to an MMO at all. I've played it for years, I know it like the back of my hand, and I thoroughly enjoyed it up to the day my RL friends dragged me back to WoW. It sounds as though they're really working hard to breathe new life into it, too, though unfortunately the population can only further dwindle at this point...

I wonder if FFXIV will travel down the same path? As enriching as it was to build such strong connections with others in the community, as the servers shrunk, I felt the game experience begin to wither as well. Games based on teamwork don't work so well when you've got no one left to team up with. Angry
