So a long while ago (not that long ago >.>) I played on a NWN server with an...interesting reputation. Â Truth be told, I also built areas for them and had DM powers, but that's beside the point!
Anyway, in NWN if you use /shout, it's not just the area you're in that sees it. Â The entire module sees it.
Misstells in /shout on that server were always, always, always hilarious.

Lmao. I honestly feel that way about a few people as well. Although honestly, I don't feel the need to share it with anyone else-- chances are others will appreciate personality traits that turn me off? Then again, the person I most admire currently is someone who used to rub me the wrong way on these forums so despite my reservations, I'm always open to changing my opinion.
Nevertheless... Though you took it well, I still don't think it's behavior that should be encouraged.

To be fair, people share their (negative) opinions of others in private all the time. It is amusing when they accidentally make their opinion public, but I don't think having a negative opinion of someone makes you immature or unfriendly.
Like Siobhain, I've made friends with people who I previously disliked (or who previously disliked me) plenty of times. Opinions change. Preaching acceptance and tolerance doesn't mean you have to like anyone and everyone. If they were purposefully hurling insults, that'd be one thing, but it wasn't meant to offend you.
They thought you sounded like a dick and didn't want to associate with you - I honestly can't see how this is immature or unfriendly on their part. We can go on about how we shouldn't judge people before we get to know them all we want, but everyone makes this kind of judgment. It'd be pretty hypocritical to condemn this sort of attitude when pretty much everyone does it.
It shouldn't be encouraged, sure, but people will do it anyway. I know I do. And I've seen people accidentally let their negative opinions of me slip in public, too. It happens.
I sadly have no amusing MT stories to share! Only the unamusing "that was supposed to be in /say" ones that happen every five seconds when I RP with people. ):

I actually did this once on Second Life. If any of you have played it, you know the new people who find the Glow portion of the customization the best part of their wardrobe or avatar, and they're a freakin lightbulb. I'm on skype with some friends, and I see this dragon that is just glowing everything at maximum, and it's EXTREMELY obnoxious.Â
So I start ranting off about the freak, and somehow the SL viewer's microphone turned on for me, and everyone, including the freak, heard me. So I quietly turned my mic off and decided to apologize in chat, turns out he wasn't even listening, but I told him he looks insane.
Him: What do you mean?
Me: Your dragon is glowing like a light bulb, turn your settings up
Him: OH GAWD YOU AREN'T KIDDING
Turns out I did him a favor?

omg, you played on Myth Drannor? Â I played on Cormyr and the Dalelands for a long time, even did some building for them. Â ^_^

Long ago, the girl who is now my best friend and I had only recently began to hang out in an MMO. Â In this particular MMO, you could respond the the last person who sent you a message with a simple /r command without having to type a name. Â
On this particular day, my best friend and I were in a public RP spot hanging out and being a sociable with others while I was also chatting with another friend via tells who had just mentioned she was going to run through a somewhat difficult area to try gathering some materials needed to craft a few of our RP outfits we had planned together.
So naturally I sent a response of "Do you need a hand with that?" using the /r command.
What I didn't notice before I hit enter was that my best friend had just sent me a tell of "I'm going to take a shower here quick".
This was roughly 10 or so years ago. Â To this day she has NOT let me live it down, and whenever she lets me know she's going AFK to take a shower she makes a point of telling me she doesn't need my help.

A couple of weeks ago I was in a dungeon with my FC and I went to tell one of them in a whisper, "brb need to use the porcelain throne." It ended up in FC chat.
Not long after that I was doing some goofy RP with that same FC friend, and they were trying to kiss me and I was being tsundere. I made an excuse to allow them to make out, and that ended up in FC chat too T.T
I said "kill me" in chat and logged out ASAP

First time in a naughty rp ((FFXIV:ARR)) and I happen to be doing it with my irl husband....I MTed the worst scene ever in /say in the middle of Lower Limsa City something about DT and choking. He ran away and I logged while laughing the whole time out of embarrassment  with him screaming in the background "WHY DIDN'T YOU HAVE PARTY CHECKED?!!!!!"
