RE: Calming the Inner Beast- 2.1 patch warrior buffs - Varus - 11-23-2013 11/10 That post was amazing. RE: Calming the Inner Beast- 2.1 patch warrior buffs - N'taeyl - 11-24-2013 I'm personally very happy with the buffs, but a little confused why they added in extra enmity gain? I've never had a problem keeping hate, even with subpar gear compared to relic users until they went full blown, and that's the gears fault. I don't know Paladin quite as well but with the extra damage reduction it helps put them on equal grounds, but now with enmity gain does it tilt in favor of Warriors now? And it'll keep going back and forth with each patch...I hope not. RE: Calming the Inner Beast- 2.1 patch warrior buffs - Zyrusticae - 11-24-2013 The extra enmity is to help improve Warrior TP management (alongside the the changes to the Storm skills) and allow Warriors to work the Storm skills into their rotation without having to worry about dropping aggro so much. Since Warriors have no way of regaining TP other than auto attack tics, it was a necessary change to prevent us from running out of TP loooong before a Paladin would do the same. Maybe we were at a disadvantage with Paladins with their Shield Oath+Mana Pool (Meaning they could flash a lot more then a Warrior can.) I see Over Power and Steel Cyclone for sure needing enmity generating increased. SC currently has none but our base damage. Over Power has enmity bonus to it.. Just from what I've seen it really isn't that great in dungeon/raid run situations where there will be a lot of AoE damage going out.. OP at the moment doesn't do a very good job with mobs unless we use a fair amount of it.. Which would result in being TP Starved which is bad. My view on it and why Yoshi bumped/added the enmity up on these two skills, it'll help reserve our Tactical Points... Defiance on the other hand? -shrug- No idea why he buffed the enmity. Edit: Also! Don't see why they added a chain grip to Holmgang.. Its a gimped hallowed ground! >_< Should have just made that chain grip move its own skill.. I only see it being usefully if a boss is on the lose and you can grab it and stick to you.. Giving your raid time to regroup itself. Now that we have a good reason to use Storm's Path to apply a damage debuff to enemies. This means Warriors will now be throwing out a Storm's Path combo and a Storm's Eye combo often, meaning less Butcher's Block combos. This has been mentioned earlier in this thread as well. Additionally now that they're receiving 20% more healing that's making the Healer's spells create more enmity as well. It really falls into how long SP's duration is on mobs. RE: Calming the Inner Beast- 2.1 patch warrior buffs - TeeBeeDee - 12-05-2013 In regards to Defiance, here's the outlook from a white mage. Existing Defiance is set up that I have to work harder to heal your hp than I do a paladin. Each Wrath stack you put on makes me work less, ultimately at a full stack I am now working AS hard as I would when healing a PLD. If you use your stack for whatever reason, I now have to work harder to heal your added HP. The new defiance makes it so that the moment you gain the extra HP, you gain the added Healing, so the moment you turn on defiance, healing you is equally as intensive (from an HP to HP standpoint) as healing a PLD. The change isn't so much for you, it's more for me! I am no longer paying a cost for your use of Wrath, which reduces the usefulness of "sitting on wrath stacks" and incentivizes actually using abilities that utilize them. As for Inner Beast, The existing inner beast makes you and your healers step on each others toes. If you take a big hit, I'm loading a big heal, if you load a big heal as well (inner beast), chances are between the two of them overhealing is going to happen. By changing it into a % dmg reduction it effectively makes it so that my actions no longer nullify your actions and vice versa. All in all, I'm looking forward to the changes. ~Tzain Nival RE: Calming the Inner Beast- 2.1 patch warrior buffs - Aleister - 12-07-2013 (12-05-2013, 05:27 PM)TeeBeeDee Wrote: In regards to Defiance, here's the outlook from a white mage.^^ I never said I had a problem with making it a passive buff. I completely agree with what you say. I personally didn't see the need to increase enmity or the 5% increase healing in defiance at the time based on personal experience but no one plays like I do or like anyone else so experiences differ. I'm just happy that I won't be a pain to my healers anymore and feel bad since they're making warriors a proper tank.. Now.. I will enjoy watching the increase of WAR pop and giggle at the silly stuff I'll be expecting on the tank forums.
