I'm in dire need of a new headset myself. I've been using a cheap Chinese one for the last 4+ years that I got online for like 10 dollars. It works, but man is it poorly made.

I use Corsair Vengeance 1400's . They're the most comfortable headset I've worn to date, very nice sounding 50mm drivers, a good microphone, and an excellent price point.
I use analogs because I have an excellent sound card. If you don't/want virtual surround go with the 1500s, as they're USB. 2100s are wireless and obviously more expensive.
