Grimacing and with no small amount of tears in his eyes Kage breathed through his mouth as he carried Natalie home. The Brass Blades, as always, took the time to send him derisive looks. Some of them hated him. He was still just a Sultansworn in a Brass Blade uniform. Suspension meant nothing. Some of them might have even accepted him a bit after the events at the Quicksand. They'd heard about the extra gil that was brought in for the night, but yet, he was still not a Brass Blade. Not truly.
No one doubted that if Kage's position as Sultansworn wasn't tied to his transfer to the Brass Blades that he would have left employment.
Still, none of them had any sympathy as he trudged home as quick as he could while covered in Natalie's vomit. Nor would they have.
He wasn't one of them.
