RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Inessa Hara - 11-13-2014 http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=8955&pid=121808#pid121808 It was from you're post actually on a different thread warren. I misread it thinking they actually said that.  xD Ishgardians are usually between Lawful Good or Zealot Good. So if we are following what you're post said actually, the Dark Knights would be Neutral Good because of their desire to help both sides of the conflict and find a peaceful resolution. Anyways, this is mainly head cannon for me but it would actually make sense for DRK's to be lone, wandering knights out in the Highlands, staying away from both Heretic and Ishgardian towns or strongholds because they believe that they do not have a desire or a place to fight in the Dravanian vs Ishgard wars but do wish to prevent fighting between both sides, serving as a Paladin-ish fighter to protect and serve those who do not wish for violence. In other words, they would not assist the Ishgardians if they went out to attack the Dravanian and aid them when they are being attacked by one with evil intent. For them, their choices to aid others are subjective, but they will more often than not attempt to solve conflicts through peacful resolution rather than violence. Most of that fanon head cannon is based on you're post though and I did not mean to interpret as or imply it to being cannon lore. Sorry.  ^_^ RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Warren Castille - 11-13-2014 No, Warren, you ARE the sources. ![]() I was just spitballing an idea; We know DRK is going to use "darkness" powers to some degree but I'm wary of going YEP, VOIDSENT or anything like that, similar to how I was resistant to assuming Doma = Eorzea!Japan. I don't have a real leaning on what the lore bits will but the best I could come up with is a disenfranchised sect of Ishgardians bringing people into the fold for the new conflict. Since it starts at Level 1, you'd need to be able to engage in it directly. New tinfoil idea:Starting areas in Ishgard would never work due to current zone structuring, will revisit if we get new "middle level" zones. Regarding the sword, someone on BG said: Lepetit Wrote:Most of the name's syllables are censored in the blog, but it's Excalibur. Most likely, that is; don't know if the uncensored syllables are supposed to be a false lead. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Kage - 11-13-2014 The other text implies it is Excalibur which is the final step to the Curtana's relic system. "Long journey" etc type of feeling. You have the far west, were if you read the lore tidbit's doing the moon faire event that happened during the FFXIV anniversary, the one Roe that teaches you the bomb dance and makes you dress up in the Kimonos and run around La Noscea says he went to the far west which was a land larger then he had ever seen. Point being though that if we take objects from the event as reference, it becomes obvious that we have more than one asian themed land out there. EDIT: Would also be a great thing to introduce and build into the game should they ever want to implement Samurai from there. With that said though, lets move on to the new class someone said in a earlier post aside from DRK. I think it will be gunner. I was pining my hopes on an Ishgard themed healer class but yoshi says "lolno." to that. Anyways, more DPS please. More DPS means killing stuff faster, lol. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Warren Castille - 11-13-2014 Agent makes sense. FFTA2 is definitely a lesser-known of the less-known FFT series and they did mention we'd get one of each role. DPS and Tank are covered and the Agent class from FFTA2 is certainly support. I'm interested. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Inessa Hara - 11-13-2014 *shoots guy in the face with bullet. They gain +800 hp* Me: WAT.   ._. I don't think it makes sense for a gunner to heal.  xD On the other hand, if they were like a field medic that used high potency potions to cure players while sending out strong DPS with the gun then I can see that happening. They would not be a healer though. More like support DPS with an emphasis on party wide support to help out healers with things such as debuffs and whatnot. I could not see it as a healer type class. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Kage - 11-13-2014 Excalibur confirmed lol http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000855.html RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Warren Castille - 11-13-2014 Maybe we'll see the final before 2.5 then. This has me very excited. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Oscare - 11-13-2014 Nice to know that Samurai isn't going to be released when we just recently got Ninja. Going to keep my eyes closed for the gunner job since I want to be SURPRISED AND EXCITED, but Dark Knight shows a lot of cool promise. Odin... And insect-type primal. ;; help me now I can see my sufferings in those Extreme modes already. Still hoping for Geomancer, but I'm more excited for whatever gun is going to be. I'm actually kind of rooting for a healer gun job like Chemist, but we'll see how that goes. ((Dirk Knight   <3)) RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Warren Castille - 11-14-2014 2.41 coming Monday. Wonder if it's content-related or just bug fixes/connection issues. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Steel Wolf - 11-14-2014 Dirk Knight (which will forever be its name for myself as well) is my job. I've had a Dork Knight since XI, and having a Duck Knight in XIV would be a culmination in my character's personal story. It's what I can finally face that long, arduous Item Level Wall for, as the last new content I did was 2.1-related. Gods help my FC for tugging my sorry noob arse along. I cannot wait for Doink Knight. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Warren Castille - 11-14-2014 Turns out mashing F5 on the lodestone page won't make patch notes appear any faster. Slow work day. RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - TheLastCandle - 11-14-2014 I like swords. -smiles insipidly- RE: Gamewatch Interview with Yoshi-P - Kage - 11-14-2014 Usually we get patches like 2.22 and stuff because they had something noteworthy. I don't remember something like 2.21 so my assumption is that 2.41 is for something pretty minor. Like implementation of something stupid like echo in SCOB |
