This thread (made after 2.4) and from personal experience there were many morings when I got up for work and saw Balmung open. It's just been a capper since the holiday season

And I tried when that thread opened in 2.4 and was rebuffed by character lock. YMMV is what I'm saying.

If you're willing the shell out a few extra bucks, you can always make a character on any open server, wait three days, then pay for a character transfer. It lets you bypass the character creation restrictions.

Yeah, Balmung and Gilgamesh (don't count us out, too!) are two of the hardest servers to land in. Just make sure you have your character details saved and try early in the morning. I managed to get my alt in at about 2am or so PST.

Gilgamesh is open! Balmung is not. Who wants to wait with me and shuffle cards? If we get enough people, I don't mind opening a digital Cards Against Humanity game.
