RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - BroodingFicus - 01-03-2015 Name: Gil Grey World: Balmung Class/Job/Role: Rogue and Captain of the Arcadia(IC)/Ninja(OOC) Card: Judgement Reason for choice: As a former slave turned Captain of the very ship he was held upon, Gil is a perfect representation of renewal and new beginnings. Of course he also 'passed judgement' on the previous Captain with a kitchen knife at the age of nine so....hm. Gil has a strong love of the sea and sees her as a detached judge jury and executioner of all who dare to traverse her. He lives his life by her leave and believes that we each take responsibility for our actions the moment we bring them into the world and we had best be ready for the consequences. Unfortunately for most he is not all that fond of forgiveness. Tumblr: http://borntothesea.tumblr.com/ Images: ![]()
RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Yangh - 01-03-2015 Probably worth noting that I did indeed quote the wiki for the card... but actually for the Empress card traits... not to say they're the embodiment of my character! Merely sharing a lot of the traits is all! (Mostly for my own needs as i know literally nothing about Tarot cards outside of Jojo's >.>) RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - R'tali - 01-03-2015 Fun! Had to throw in the world's trashiest pirate.

RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - DrPoxo - 01-03-2015 Name: Matahina Umigame World: Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): WAR/MNK OOC: Adventuring Scholor Cards: The Hermit, The Hanged Man Reason for Card choice: Matahina has been one who has gone through a metaphorical isolation to gain her lessons. Her adventures have been a lonely path that have lead to experiences and knowledge's most only dream of. For her logic she sacrificed her emotion. For her Strength she has sacrificed her connection. Her isolation hung her in ways most would not understand. Though now she has returned and offers guidance when pressed or she sees her own gain. Never shall she suggest her path for all must fine their own. Tumblr name: DrPoxo Screenshots: 1 2 3 RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - U'roh Tia - 01-03-2015
RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Adeya - 01-03-2015 Name: Adeya Evenar World: Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): Scholar Cards (recommended): The Chariot Reason for Card choice (recommended): If there is one thing that Adeya is it’s determined (or stubborn, depending on how you look at it). Once she has a goal in mind she will not stop until she gets it; for instance, she has devoted her life to trying to learn everything she can about arcanima, despite having to essentially teach herself the basics. While on the one hand she’s very disciplined, she can also be rather single-minded and has a lot of trouble walking away from something she’s committed to, sometimes even if doing so would be in her best interest. In addition, while she does value honor and pride (particularly pride), she can also be ruthless towards things that stand in her way, especially if she’s convinced it’s for the greater good i.e. “the ends justify the meansâ€. Tumblr name (optional): None Screenshots: 1 2 3 RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Roen - 01-03-2015 Oh what a neat idea!! Name: Roen Deneith World: Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): Paladin, White Mage Cards (recommended): The Star, Strength, or Temperance Reason for Card choice (recommended): I think The Star card represents one of her key virtues that drives her current arc: her ability to hope and see goodness in others. This may have gotten her into more trouble than not, but she fiercely holds onto her optimism. The Strength card can also easily represent her: compassionate, gentle, and perseverance. The Temperance card could also work, because she began as an idealistic young woman, and through her past and current trials, she is learning the balance her morals with pragmatism. Perhaps after her current arc is over, she will also learn the true meaning of healing. Also please include 1-3 screenshots Image 1, 2, 3 RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Edgar - 01-03-2015 Edited due to change in Arcana. Name: Edgar Von Gandervalt
World: Balmung
Character main class/job/role (Optional): Summoner
Cards (recommended): Strength
Reason for Card choice (recommended): On the one half, the Strength Tarot represents Edgar's difficulties with his inferior aspects. Edgar struggles daily with trying to keep his emotions in check. He has a lot of bitterness and anger that he, for the most part, keeps to himself, allowing it to build up into a fire that, when unleashed, is like the beast depicted in the Strength tarot; wild and untamed, fierce and destructive. The tale of him and Delial is the best analogue to this, one of him going from lust to obsession and vengeance, until Delial finally called him on it, telling him he was becoming like his late, madman father.
On the other half, the Strength tarot represents Edgar's inner power, his conviction and determination that ultimately have been a gateway to his worldly persona and overall intelligence. When given time to achieve inner silence, Edgar, more often than not, comes to conclusions that others cannot. With Strength comes wisdom, and with wisdom, comes the ability to endure great suffering, and torment.
The main theme of Edgar's tale is that "Bad things happen to good people", and through great suffering and torment Edgar has experienced both the base and reverse of the Strength Arcana.

RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Menelwen - 01-03-2015 Edited!: Securing a post so I can edit it later. Was trying to finish it before I had to head out, but it looks like I'll have to finish it up tomorrow. Name: Menelwen Veara World: Balmung Character Main Class/Job/Role: MNK / SCH Cards: â‘ The Hanged Man â‘¡ The Chariot â‘¢ Strength Reason for Card Choice: â‘ To see the world as it is, you must change your perspective from time to time. Like many, Menelwen's entire world was turned upside down when the Calamity happened. For a long time the woman was angry, and not just at the world but at herself as well. For a solid year she wandered, witnessing firsthand how far Bahamut's reach was. Over the course of several months her anger simmered and she found a new purpose in life. â‘¡ Armored to the teeth, and not just by physical means. Menelwen has walls upon walls of a mental guard, shielding her both from friend and foe. Like many, the woman has gone through many hardships in her life, and like many she has over come them. Unlike most however, the Elezen has come to recongnize that not all problems can be solved with a head strong approach. It must be chipped away, slowly, until the problem either no longer exists, or is small enough to deal with completely now. â‘¢ There was not an emotion the Elezen did not feel when she was traveling alone for that solid year. Rage and confusion were side long companions in those long days under the desert's harsh sun, where as fear and mourning did little to comfort the Elezen during those freezing nights. But time passed, and with each of Eorzea's full cycle, Menelwen slowly found herself moving on. She would not forget what all had happened, but she came to realize that she had no control over what had happened. But she had control now, she controlled what became of her now. Her mind cleared, she sought out on her path a new woman. Where as rage and confusion had once muddied her thoughts, a newfound kindness and understanding met her as she came across the countless refugee camps and towns. When the company allowed it, she would sit with them at night remembering, and not mourning, those lost to the Calamity. Her words often comforted both others and herself. They would all move on, one cycle at a time. Tumblr Name: Don't have one. Will RPC work? RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Gegenji - 01-03-2015 Ah man, I love Tarot-related things. RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Cliodhna Eoghan - 01-03-2015 Name: Cliodhna Eoghan World: Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): Ninja/Monk Cards (recommended): Judgement Reason for Card choice (recommended): The judgement card is mostly about a major shift in someone's life and their reaction to it (hence the words, judgement, rebirth, decision, reconciliation, hope, and redemption are commonly used words when describing it) Currently Cliohna is at that point in her life. She has tossed aside (at a great risk to herself) her old life because there was a inner struggle with it that has been quietly building over an amount of about ten years. Now that it's gone and she's in her now life, she has a more hopeful view of how things will be for here. She's still having a harder time adjusting than she lets on, but a large scale life change usually has it's bumps along the way. When Judgment appears in a reading, it's usually interpreted as a signal of an impending judgment, such as of postponed decisions. This decision for her to change and start over in Ul'dhh has been something that was put off for at least eight years because she wasn't ready to aside from other reasons that took a lot of evaluation of both herself and her previous line of work. As the card symbolizes resurrection, it can also be interpreted to herald the return of individuals from the past. This also holds well for Cliodhna because that life change she finally took has placed someone from her past back into her life on a very involved level. RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Castus Allard - 01-03-2015 Name: Castus Allard World:Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): Monk/Lancer/Black Mage Cards (recommended): Chariot/Emperor Reason for Card choice (recommended): Chariot: Beaten into him from a very young age, was the overriding need to succeed. It didn't matter what, if he could not lay a challenge low, then he was a failure. Today he is known for an unwavering sense of duty in whatever mission or job he sets his sights on. Emperor: In more recent years, mostly with the fracturing of the free company he had joined, he has taken on a more stern, authoritarian, demeanor. Those who join under him will find him a strict master, demanding only the best, in return for his experience and knowledge. ![]()
RE: Themed Art Giveaway - Tarot Cards - Aya - 01-04-2015 Aya Foxheart (Balmung) Card: Moon Reason: Aya is a girl adrift, unsure of where she is going, or why. Similarly, at the Quick Sand she is surrounded by others who are lost, their path for life temporarily hidden from sight. Just as the Moon does not provide guidance, nor can Aya, or the Quick Sand. There is a mystery of depth to her character. Reflections and shadows, sometimes lost beneath beauty and cheer.
