Well, there's also the standpoint of FFXIVCore and the RPC having a very different overall atmosphere, comparatively speaking. The server will be more populated if we both go there, but it'll also be more likely to mix oil and water.

Or oil and white phosphorous, as the case may be.

Quote:Yeah, so far Core seems to have a very similar voting pattern as we do.
Ewwww Sad

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Kylin - 09-01-2010

Yeah, Core isn't very RP friendly. Though their staff supports us, the members don't care about us in the slightest.

Edit: Besaid takes the lead with Core now.

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Trizzip - 09-01-2010

I'm gonna hold my vote off till later tomorrow just to see where all the big groups are headed for sure.

That's ok, I don't care about their members either. Why do we have to go around walking on eggshells? I never hid the fact I was an RP'er in any game regardless of what kind of server I was on and I've never gotten overly griefed by anyone.

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Asyria - 09-01-2010

Because the RPC's official standpoint is to be nice with our neighbors?

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Cid_Mercer - 09-02-2010

And we can't be nice if they're not nice to us first?

Honestly, and I promise that I am speaking from experience here, if someone is griefing you for being an RPer, all you have to do is ignore them. They will get bored and go find somebody else to bother. I share a server with Goons elsewhere, Goons are infamous for that sort of behavior, and all you have to do is follow the age-old adage: don't feed the trolls.

I know it can be hard, but we just have to chillax. No matter where we end up, there will be people that think that we are colossal dorks. Just remember that they're playing a silly game, too, and are just as dorky, just in a different way. Ignore whatever slams come your way.

The people you play with are more important than those you play around.

Re: The Server Selection News Room - ArmachiA - 09-02-2010

I'm fine with Core rolling on the same server. If's is Core ZAM and eorzeapedia rolled on the same server I'd be freaking out. Thats too many people!

Core can deal Tongue

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Seraphine Felstar - 09-02-2010

As anyone who has ever arrived at the same Dynamis area as another group or the same NM spawn point can tell ya, it's important to have a good reputation and relationship with the people on your server. Getting mowed over by a large end game group is no fun. In fact, even though my dynamis shell was amazing we got locked out of snow for about two months because one group if jerks decided to dominate the server. In the end diplomacy is what saved that situation.

Yeah, it might not seem like a big deal to share a server with these people now, but when you can't get the items you want or make the money you deserve because of who you're sharing the server with it'll matter.

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Siben - 09-02-2010

I don't have to be "nice" to them, nor do I have to be a dick to them. I treat everyone neutrally until they show me how much respect they deserve to be given. This is done by measuring how much respect they give to me.

If they're going to stomp around and beat their chests proclaiming how much "RP'ers suck" then I'll make it a point to not deal with them. Maybe I'd help them if they were in a bind, but you wouldn't see me go out of my way to do something "nice" for them in the daft hope that, "If I act in a nice and submissive manner towards them then maybe they'll start to "like" RP'ers.""

Re: The Server Selection News Room - ArmachiA - 09-02-2010

We;re assuming a lot of /Core. How do we know there just going to hate us and lock us out of everything?

I don't think the vast majority of them are that childish

There was also that group we spent two hourglasses on every week to lock out because they thought they'd show up a half an hour before our gather and ignore the Dynamis calender. We even got full tiem extensions in Xarc with 6 mules. XD We locked them out until they compromised with us.

Re: The Server Selection News Room - Seraphine Felstar - 09-02-2010

But it did cost the shell millions in losses before they even considered compromising with us!

Just letting everyone know that being on a server with people that don't respect or work with you isn't fun.

siben can you update the first post?

I think we're jumping the gun though on that one.

There's only 11 servers. There's 150,000 US preorders, we aren't going to be able to avoid the world. If Core rolls the same server we will deal.

I say this because Core is just a website and not a known Griefer guild like the Goons or CKD
