Argh. I feel the problems getting into Balmung. I lost track of how many times I've attempted to find an unlocked minute to do it over the past 24 hours.
IDK, maybe there'll be a window tonight when people start leaving for Maintenance.

Cant remember if this was said before or not but the best bet is to just create the character on a different server then pay for a transfer over.
Alot of people right now are coming back to the game most likely because of the rouge and Ninja class and all the new content. I would not be surprised if the server was closed around the clock because i have been seeing alot more activity in area's that used to be vacant as heck, which are now occupied by the rouge and Ninja horde.
Best bet if you don't want to pay for a transfer is to wait for 2.4.5 to come out or is about too. By then, the Ninja horde will have diminished by a noticeable margin and the chances of getting into the server will look high.
TBH, I plan on creating an ALT for the new race during 3.0. I'm not looking forward to staying up late for that.  xD

I just managed to get mine on Balmung. Â I tried at 6 am EST or GMT -5 and it worked then.

Man, I was trying at that ungodly hour too and it was never open for me. Hmm. Oh well.
@Inessa: While it's a nice thought, that's a chunk of cash I'd really rather not spend if I don't absolutely have to. Waiting until yet another patch shows up makes re-subbing kinda pointless as well, given how long it takes for those to show up.
I'm a victim of my own bad timing, not knowing that the patch dropped the very DAY I re-subbed, but still.

I've tried to medium it out a bit. I try when I get home from Work at 1:30 PST, then again at 9:00 PST before I go to bed. I set an alarm for like 2:00am PST and then I try when I get up for work at 4:20am PST and so far I've had zero luck. T.T and if Friday comes I might pay for a transfer in, but if I can't even log in after what's the point :p

I logged in at 6:40 am CMT this morning and the server population was low enough to where characters could be made.

No such luck. I'm thinking I really will end up transferring over, I'm not about to destroy my circadian rhythm just to create a character on one server, heh. Though I might give it another day or two just to be sure. One would hope things are dropping off a little a week post-patch, but time will tell.

Your best bet is to try either right before or after scheduled maintenance. I know it's a commitment, but it's worth it. I suggest trying as soon as the servers go back up. There are a lot of AFKers on the server. These unattended toons will stay on until the server forces them off.
