RE: What do you do to earn gill? - Kellach Woods - 02-10-2015 I can HQ anything consistently up to 2-star. RE: What do you do to earn gill? - Parvacake - 02-10-2015 For me?
RE: What do you do to earn gill? - Faye - 02-10-2015 Sell my body, and my soul. ....... Both are pretty cheap so I'm still broke. RE: What do you do to earn gill? - Oriel - 02-11-2015 Everyone's offered very sound advice.  If you want to avoid crafting to earn steady gil and don't mind putting in some time, gathering materials for the crafters to use is a good shot.  Things that are used a lot (such as alumen, silver ore, or if you'd like to farm stuff with a combat class, skins/fleece) are a sure bet. Spiritbonding is also a good alternative, however there is a lot of RNG involved (the best money makers are grade IV's, and getting them is not guaranteed).  Whatever you do, just know that you will have to put some time and effort into it.  Dedicated a set amount of time a day to whatever you want to do to earn money will eventually pay off. I would really, -really- recommend that you invest in at least one crafting glass, if only to do the Ixal dailies. RE: What do you do to earn gill? - Kellach Woods - 02-11-2015 On Spiritbonding - The rule of thumb is : Gathering Materia is pretty much low return. There are some that will actually have good return (Guerdon 1/2s - Guerdon 1s are around 25k/30k a pop and they can come from entry level gear), Grasp IVs (necessary for right-hand melds but don't sell more than one at a time), but overall crafting materia tends to yield better results for your time. Although if you're SBing to avoid the market like I often did, it's not a waste of time to do these. Crafting Materia is a much safer, less lucrative alternative to battlecraft materia. While you won't get the returns you'll see on Savage Might IVs or Savage Aim IVs, you'll see much more steady returns by virtue of this category being unable to yield any elemental or primary stat materia. All the materia obtained from crafting (and gathering) materia can be sold at a profit most likely. Battlecraft Materia is for gamblers. The returns can be massive (upwards of 500k-600k for an in-demand level IV materia) but the RNG can screw you over in all sorts of ways. Giving you a bad (elemental or primary stat, but if you got a Vitality you might be lucky - they sometimes sell quite well) materia, giving you a level III (still good, just not the mad amounts of cash you want), etc. Most of this is info you'd get on your own so that's not much of a problem sharing it. Granted that its not the biggest moneymaker due to the fact that not many people buy the high costs for the runs but on occasion, it is a quick way to make an easy 3-5 million, though that would be the max payout for a group of seven. Divided up, each person would get less than a million of that. IMO, the selling system is somewhat outdated due to the fact it requires a community with alot of money for it to work. Pretty sure it will kick up again when 3.0 comes out though because new endgame content. I really wish the game had a continent or massive land expanse that was open world PvP like ArcheAge. Would be easy to make money that way as well if there was things like merchant packages or territory wars. A good idea to take to all of this is that you should think of this in real world terms. There will always be a demand for something. You just gotta think of what makes the most as well as how easy it is and do that said thing.
