RE: Pls put a shirt on - Ryanti - 05-31-2015 I'm a manqo'te. So if I went shirtless it involks stereotypes. And if I put on clothes it'll probably involk some other stereotype. You can't really avoid it as a catboy, just gotta accept it. Though on a serious note, anyone ever get crap from not being tanned and living in the desert? People in the desert do wear heavy clothes to keep the sun from basiclly killing them. That's usually what I do. So, I haven't caught much RP outside of my core group [sub](I want to though! Someone! Please!) [/sub]and we have no manqo'te in said group. ...There are stereotypes now? This thread is such an eye-opener to the Wacky World of Walk-Ups. RE: Pls put a shirt on - Aduu Avagnar - 05-31-2015 (05-31-2015, 04:31 PM)Ryanti Wrote: I'm a manqo'te. RE: Pls put a shirt on - Cailean Lockwood - 05-31-2015 We can make a deal here... Put shirts on... but take pants off... If I do put on clothes, I become a Chinese knockoff of Ciel Phantomhive. It can get irritating. I get weird ass tells all the time from...aspiring gentlemen. I just tend to say that Ryanti's era in Ul'Dah was spent the majority of the time indoors. He never really needed a reason to be out in the sun for hours and hours until it set. Most of clothing was exclusive to the wealthy (either because of taboos or because of prices). The poor wore nothing not because they could, but because they had to. They also did die at very early ages, for exposure to heat and also skin cancer (several types of cancers have been found descripted as early as in 2.500b.C. papyri). Sure, egyptians could wear like that today too if they wanted, but they would live a much shorter life, hence the evolution of clothing among beduins and other desertic populations since cultivation of cotton, flax and other materials became more common and less exclusive, as well as animal textures not being taboos anymore. I think Ul'dah is closest to the age of sultanates/modern era than to Ancient Egypt. But as for my overall stance on the OP's demand, see my first post. I'm not defending their request, just the logic of the topic.
