RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - Aldotsk - 12-22-2013 OTL They knew their ways to take our money :C (I didn't pay for Titan run though lol) RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - LiadansWhisper - 12-22-2013 (12-22-2013, 01:47 AM)Aldotsk Wrote: OTL I talked to one of their members.  This is what they did to afford a medium house: Every member was required to turn in 8 Philo items a day 2 days a week.  The other 5 days, they had to turn in 4 Philo items.  That's 40 WP/AK runs a week just for crafting stuff to sell to get money for the house. Plus they sold Titan runs (although they apparently also carried some people for free, as well). RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - Aldotsk - 12-22-2013 That's really well devoted yet a lot of burn out. But that's the result of their efforts, and I'd have to say they deserve the first housing for this server  (wonder how I'll be able to get housing) RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - Xiaoli Vorgan - 12-22-2013 A small FC house may be good for small RP companies as long as they only want it for a RP spot/hang out, but in the long run it is a very big waste of money. 1) Can not upgrade, also I don't think you can sell the house later. Only the land I believe. 2) Future updates of things like chocobo raising, crafting area and stuff I think only goes in Medium and Large houses. I've peeked at this thread a few times with high hopes pre-2.1 and this would have been a very awesome idea to get a bunch of RP companies into the same neighborhood but now at the very differing rates of which people are stocking their gil towards these Scrooge McDuck prices, it would be virtually impossible because its not like we can put certain plots on hold. I really do think what folks have been saying is true, that they bloated the prices to avoid crashing everything which is very sad. I would think that with all the unexpected cash they had in when they only thought 50k people would be playing would be put to use towards keeping their customers happy. I'm penny pinching even harder now because I can't imagine what explosive price personal housing will be. I would avoid putting a house in the same ward as them. Several of RareX's members have been griefing roleplayers on Balmung recently, several days in a row. I'm not usually much for mentioning stuff like this, but this is severe/recurring enough to validate a heads up, imo :/ RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - Tla - 12-22-2013 (12-22-2013, 05:09 AM)Sastra Wrote:Doesn't surprise me much. I love how the only ones who can afford a roleplayer's dream are the rp haters :/ RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - pas - 12-22-2013 I'm really tentative to mention this as I don't know how interested people would be in this, but what if Balmung roleplayers and FCs worked together with one FC at a time? I know a lot of people might feel like it's problematic as it'd be an honour system driven manoeuvre, but it's something communities irl here do a lot—large families move into one home, then all save up so that they can split, etc, repeatedly, rinse, lather, repeat, all the while working together for the next monetary goal even after they've moved out—and it might make things feel as if they are moving faster. Otherwise, smaller groups could band together to do as much. Two FCs who want to be neighbors might consider pooling resources until they have enough for both neighbouring houses (a slower reversal of the above mentioned concept), or might work together to save up for one for both of them until they can save up enough for a second. I don't feel that I have a dog in the fight either way, I was just reminded of this useful practise while reading through this thread. Anyone who is worried about such methods should not participate in them. At this point I'd almost rather housing be just cosmetic, eh.... There's supposed to be a lot of them as time progresses, from buffs to quality of life things like the crafting stations, vendors, auction house boards, chocobo stables/breeding stuff, and more. From what I understand, some perks are going to be furniture related, so they'll have to decorate some, but yeah, it's more than cosmetic.(12-22-2013, 05:58 AM)pas Wrote: I do not understand the purpose of FC housing for non-RPers. ???I'd say it's not for the house per se, but for the associated benefits, like crafting stations, chocobo stables, etc. I remember in Aion some people would buy an house ad leave it completely unfurnished and undecorated, because they only cared about the bonuses one gives. Non-RPers are going to want it just to show off how awesome they are on top of having all the perks. We saw some of that in Aion too - though those people tended to decorate a bit. You might try contacting the officers and seeing if they would do anything about it.  I've gotten stuff resolved in the past with griefers by contacting their FC officers and asking them if they're okay with their members griefing other players. I am not sure I would achieve much more than luring more griefers to the place, if my suspicion is right :/ As such I am not going to risk it. RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - LiadansWhisper - 12-23-2013 The guild <SPY> just bought Plot 11 in Lavender Beds.  Like Rare-X, the plot was 90 mil.  Unlike Rare-X, there are only 5 members of that guild.  xD It's a medium sized house.  Really pretty! RE: [Balmung] FC housing and a Roleplaying Neighbourhood - Tla - 12-23-2013 They must have really done some effort for it :o Wanna see!! First ward I suppose? |
