RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Amiabelle - 07-23-2013 This was an excellent, although very difficult, exercise! Thank you, Vash, for starting this thread. I now have a much better picture in my mind as to who my first XIV character is, even though I'm still not settled on her name. For the time being, her name will be Amiabelle For-Now. I tried to be deliberately vague on some details because I wasn't sure how much I could disclose. NPC names, places, events, that sort of thing. And, in some cases, I'm still somewhat hazy on lore: what events transpired when, who knows what, who was where and how they were affected. I hope I haven't gone overboard. I assume there are things I've gotten wrong. If you happen to catch some inconsistencies, let me know. Please be gentle with me -- it's my first time. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
![]() The tall, elegant woman smiled and stood up from her desk as Amiabelle For-Now entered the office. She seemed genuinely delighted to see the young Hyur woman. "Come in, Ami. Please, have a seat." Amiabelle nodded as she took the seat on the other side of the desk. The older woman sat back down. "You're not nervous, are you? You know this is just a formality, dear. Before inducting new Adventurers into the Guild, we're required to conduct this little interview. You completed your trials -- quite spectacularly, I might add. You've had some time to get to know us and what we do. This is our opportunity to learn a little more about you." Amiabelle smiled. She still looked nervous. "I understand." The older woman chuckled and reassured the younger one. "You'll be just fine, dear. Just answer honestly and let that bubbly personality of yours come on through. Now, shall we get started?" She pulled a thick book and quill from a desk drawer. Amiabelle took a deep breath, settled into her seat and nodded. "Let's." Show Content
Part 1: The BasicsPart 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name? Well, my official name is Amiabelle For-Now but as you know, I like to be called Ami. I know it's not a typical Hyur name, but my parents are rather non-traditional folks. You know how show-people are. 2.Where and when were you born? I'm nearly 23. I was born in the latter half of 1555 on my family's compound.   3.Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) My mother, Ami-mom, was born in 1517 and is a singer/musician. She plays mandore mostly but also flute and percussion. Her fingers romance the instruments, coaxing notes no one ever heard before. And her voice is mesmerizing -- sweet and deep, powerful and gentle simultaneously. My father, Ami-dad, was born in 1513 and, unlike my mother, he's all about stagecraft, production and management. He keeps the troupe running. Auditions performers, arranges travel, keeps the books -- basically he keeps the troupe and the compound functioning. They met in the 40s, during a revival of The Gilgetters -- very funny show, by the way -- and their personalities complemented one another to perfection. Everyone admires them. They're like parents to the entire troupe. 4.Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? Biologically speaking, I am an only. Realistically, the other children in the troupe were like my brothers and sisters. 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I suppose you could say I'm between places right now. On my own. The chocobo keeper down the way has graciously allowed me to sleep in the loft over the stable for the past few days. The smell isn't great and it's a bit warmer than I'd like, but it's surprisingly comfortable.  I do plan to put down roots, though. I like it here. I'm saving my gil so I can buy a real home. 6.What is your occupation? I'm a performer. Actor, singer, dancer... That's how I ended up here, you know. I'm doing research for the Next Big Stage Production, whatever that may turn out to be. That stage in town? It's ripe for a good, full-scale production. Oh, wait, you want to know what kind of Adventurer I am.  I guess I'm officially an Archer now. At least they seem to think so over at the Archer's Guild. Yes, that sounds good. I'm an Archer. 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Let's see.  You can see that I'm a Midlander, about average height, I guess. Maybe a smidge taller than average. What do you think -- athletic build? It's all this running about and archery. Keeps me trim but muscular. Hazel eyes, no wrinkles, scars or tattoos. I would describe my hair as being on the reddish side of brown and my skin is a shade lighter than maple syrup.  The good syrup, though, not the cheap syrup. 8.To which social class do you belong? Me? Personally?  Right now?  I guess most people would say I'm poor.  That's not forever, though. I have plans. 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? Not really. Cats make me sneeze sometimes. 10. Are you right- or left-handed? Lucky me, I'm both!  Actually, it makes archery much easier. 11. What does your voice sound like? People tell me it's pleasant.  Somewhat deeper than most women's. I think I sound like my mother. Thanks to my upbringing, I can be as loud or as soft as need be.  That comes in handy more times than you can imagine! 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? I guess I use "I guess" or "I suppose" a lot. Heh, see, I just did it again! 13. What do you have in your pockets? Well, I'm almost never caught without a quill and inkpot.  And a notebook. And some spending gil. I love the sound of gil jangling in my pocket. Music! And in this little pouch here? Usually a few arrowheads, some twine and an extra bowstring. And a snack. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I'm really not that fond of closed-in spaces.  Does that count? Oh, and people tell me I bite my lip when I'm nervous. Show Content
Part 2: Growing UpPart 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? Fantastic! I have the greatest family ever! 16. What is your earliest memory? Hard to say. I guess it was some sort of party. There were always parties at home. It was dark. And outside. People singing, laughing, dancing. Music. And a campfire. It was nice. 17. How much schooling have you had? I'm not sure how to quantify it, but I had schooling all my life. Not private tutors, exactly -- there was a group of instructors in the compound so there were always lessons going on. That, and of course, we traveled a lot. The whole troupe. Traveling was probably the best education. 18. Did you enjoy school? As I said, I didn't really go to formal school. School was everywhere, all the time. Life was our school. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? Formal reading and writing, mainly from the instructors. Acting and performing, from the troupe. Archery, from... oh what was his name? Gah, this is going to bother me... I can't even see his face. He was a friend of the family, I know that much. He was from here. He gave me this bow, actually.  I'd give anything to see him again. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. Mostly, my parents. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I think the strongest bond is with my mother. We're like sisters. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always assumed I'd be a performer of some sort. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Well, I enjoyed performing in any capacity. Acting, singing, dancing. And I enjoyed learning languages. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I guess I was happy most of the time. I wasn't very competitive, though. 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? I was as popular as anyone else, I guess. I wasn't unpopular. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? Oh! I'm not sure how that's relevant. I thought we were trying to determine my fit-ness for the Guild. 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? Again, I'm not really sure why that's relevant. Can I take a pass on that one? 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. I'm just regular folk. I think I'm a fast learner, though, so I just need a bit of guidance and I can pick up pretty much anything. Show Content
Part 3: Past InfluencesPart 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? I guess it would be the day my parents met. Think about it. If they'd never met, I wouldn't even be here!  Oh, not what you were looking for?  Let's move on. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? As I mentioned before, my mother was instrumental in making me who I am today. Heh I made a joke. Mother was "instrumental"... get it? She plays instruments? Maybe it wasn't that funny. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Well, one I'm really proud of was when I landed the lead in A Midwinter Night's Dreamgirls. Oh, what a show that was! But I don't think I've hit my greatest greatest yet. 32. What is your greatest regret? I used my words once to hurt someone very dear. One of the elders. She laughed and brushed it off, but her eyes told me how deeply I'd cut her. Our relationship was never the same after that. Hmmmph, I haven't seen her in years. I don't know if she's even still among us. 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? I deliberately hurt that dear, old woman. It was just plain mean. I was young but that's no excuse. I should have known better. My parents raised me better than that. 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? Oh, dear. Unfortunately, yes. Once, while the troupe was performing in Ul'Dah, some of us younger ones snuck out after curfew and raised a bit of a ruckus around the city. Nothing major, I mean, no one got hurt, we were just a bit loud. And maybe, shall we say, rowdy. You know that fountain near the center of town? It looked so pretty with orange water! And we would have gotten away with it if two of the kids hadn't decided to skinny... uh, let's just say we got caught and leave it at that. The guards there are so strict! My father had to waive their admission fees to the next five performances to appease them. 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? The fire, in 1563.  A rogue wildfire swept the compound. I was 8 at the time. I woke up and everything, literally everything, was on fire. Materially, we were wiped out.  The sets, the wagons, the costumes, most of the instruments, all destroyed.  But you know what?  Thankfully, not one troupe member was lost. Not even injured. Not even the animals. But yes, the fire was scary.  It's funny now, but after everything was done, my father urged us all to "remember this moment" so we could call up those emotions on stage when needed.  Always thinking about the next show. 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? Getting caught in that Ul'Dah fount... oh ho ho ho! You tried to trick me! Sneaky! 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I would take back the mean things I said. Words can be weapons. That's the lesson I learned. 38. What is your best memory? It's not one memory, exactly. I just remember summer nights around the campfire at the compound, like I mentioned earlier. After rehearsals and meetings, everyone just relaxing. Singing, dancing, laughing, sharing. 39. What is your worst memory? Like I said before, the fire. Without a doubt, the fire.  But you know what? We're performers, but more than that, we're family.  We look out for one another and everyone alerted everyone. It took nearly 7 moons to rebuild, but the new compound was even nicer than the old one. And we were all so much closer for having that shared experience. So I guess it's really not a worst memory at all when I think about it! Oooo that sounds really Suzy Sunshine, doesn't it? Part 4: Beliefs and OpinionsPart 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Oh, definitely optimistic. 41. What is your greatest fear? Some sort of world-wide cataclysm, maybe? Something that wipes out the whole planet in one fell swoop. No warning, no prep, just everything, poof. Gone. And I don't know what would be worse: to be one of the gone, or one of the remainders. 42. What are your religious views? Well, I know it's unconventional, but I seriously question the existence of the Twelve. Don't look at me that way. Um, maybe I shouldn't say any more. 43. What are your political views? I try to stay out of politics. 44. What are your views on sex? Oh, goodness!!!  Really, you're going to ask me about this again??? If I didn't know you better, I'd think... 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? This is a tough one. Obviously, I've done it. My Hunting Log is proof. I'm finding it harder and harder to reconcile my feelings about it, though. Can I get back to you on that? 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Harm a child. Physically, emotionally, any way at all. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? I think my parents are proof that it's a reality. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? I haven't figure that out yet.  Being a good friend, maybe? 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I'm usually pretty open. But I try to be tactful. So, I don't believe in "brutal honesty" if that's going to hurt someone. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? I'm sure I do but I'd like to think I don't. I try to accept everyone until they give me a reason not to. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Harm a child. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? My child. If I had one. Show Content
Part 5: Relationships with OthersPart 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? As I mentioned earlier, I tend to accept everyone equally until they give me a reason not to. I guess, I'm polite and maybe a little reserved at first, but I tend to warm up to people rather quickly. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Please don't take this the wrong way. Oh, this is going to sound so wrong. I'm the most important person in my life. That sounds narcissistic, doesn't it? But really, I don't mean it that way. Gah, I'm not sure how to answer that properly. Let's move on. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? That's a tie between my mother and father.  I respect them both immensely, and not just in a child-to-parent way.  They are good people.  I mean, look at our compound.  People of every stripe imaginable, all living and working together in harmony and it was my parents who basically put it all together. I'm in awe of who they are and the lives they've led. 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I don't have a best friend, per se.  My closest friends, though, are the troupe. We're all friends and family.  I know you don't believe it.  I mean, we're show people.  Show people are some of the most high-strung, neurotic, melodramatic people on the face of the planet. And yet, we all get along!  All our drama gets left on the stage.  It's remarkable, really. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. No. Not now. 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. Yes.  We grew apart. Or maybe we just grew up. That, and the fact that I really didn't need or want to be protected or rescued.  I wanted to be equal, strong partners. 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Heh obviously, a strong, equal partner.  Someone who is generous of spirit, fun-loving, adventurous.  Someone who loves to laugh but also knows when to be serious.  Someone who doesn't worship me and doesn't expect me to worship them.  Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation and who can disagree without being disagreeable.  Someone who agrees with everything I say... no not really, just kidding. 60. How close are you to your family? My family is my world. Heh can't you tell? 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? Sadly for me, it has been determined that I cannot bear children. However, once I get settled and put down roots, I'd love to adopt one. Maybe a few of them! I think I'd be a good mother. What do you think? 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Right now, you, I guess. I don't really know anyone else here. I hope you don't mind. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Well, given that I'm new in town and the troupe is so very far away, I guess the one on whom I can depend would have to be... me. I guess I'll have to be diligent. I'm all I've got. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? I honestly don't know anymore. I hope the troupe... 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? I can't think of any one specific person right now. 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I try to avoid conflict whenever I can. I'm not competitive. I'm not confrontational. But I'm good with words and if I have to argue, I'll do it to the best of my ability. But I won't like it. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Sometimes. And sometimes, I follow. I'd like to think I'm good at both. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Not particularly. I can do well in large groups, but I really prefer one-to-one relationships. 69. Do you care what others think of you? Oh, most definitely.  Sometimes, maybe too much. Why?  What do you think of me?  Don't answer that. Show Content
Part 6: Likes and DislikesPart 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Reading and exploring. People watching.  I love people watching. 71. What is your most treasured possession? Do you see this necklace? Every link is etched with the name of someone from the troupe. There is a link for every member. And the three gemstones here at the base represent me and my parents. This necklace means the world to me because it keeps me connected to my family.  72. What is your favorite color? Yellow. 73. What is your favorite food? Mmmmm. Easy one. Warm apple tart. Drizzle on a little honey, sprinkle a few raisins and top with a scoop of frozen sweet cream and, well, I'm done. Gods, now I'm hungry. 74. What, if anything, do you like to read? I like to read anything that's engaging and well-written, be it fiction, biographies, recipes, instructions... I'm not picky.  And I learn from everything I read. Often, I learn what NOT to do in my own writing. 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? Yes, to all of the above.  Well, not movies, because I'm not sure what that is. What is movies? 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? Absolutely not. Well, let me amend that. I have, um, dabbled in the past. You can't grow up around performers without having been exposed. But it's not for me. I just don't need that sort of thing. I'm in a good enough mood most of the time without that stuff. 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Heh, I don't think I've ever had a typical Saturday night. 78. What makes you laugh? Babies. Especially laughing babies. Intelligent comedy. And sometimes, slapstick or good, physical comedy, depending on my mood. 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Not too much shocks me but rudeness, injustice and prejudice offend me highly. That and people who have the audacity to hurt children. They are the lowest of the low. 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? Fortunately, I don't really have that problem but if I did, I suppose it would depend on where I was. If I was in town, I might head out to a tavern to people-watch. If I was in the wilderness, I might go practice my archery on targets. Near water? A barefoot walk on the beach sounds nice. 81. How do you deal with stress? Sometimes, I play with my necklace, gently rolling the links between my thumb and fingers. I also bite my lower lip, apparently. 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? I'm fairly spontaneous.  I can, what's that expression, go with the flow?  I mean, I like having a plan, but if things go off-plan, which they so often do nowadays, I'm not thrown for a loop.  It's like when someone flubs a line or hits a wrong note.  I run with what is, not with what should have been.  I'm adaptable, I guess. 83. What are your pet peeves? People, men specifically, who feel compelled to protect or rescue me. I mean, seriously, you're a woman. Doesn't that bug the bejeebers out of you, too? I'm a strong, capable woman. I can handle myself, thank you. 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I grew up as part of a traveling troupe of performers. I don't think I've had a normal day in my life. 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? Compassion. People say I'm a good listener. 86. What is your greatest weakness? I don't ask for help until I've exhausted every possible avenue of doing it myself.  Even then, I feel obligated to pay for the help.  I feel really uncomfortable asking people to do things for me for no compensation. 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? This might sound terrible but sometimes, I'm too nice. Some people take advantage of that.  People have told me I need to toughen up a bit and not always assume others aren't out to harm me. 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? I guess most people would say I'm fairly extroverted. I'm not the life of the party by any means, but I don't blend into the wall, either. 89. Are you generally organized or messy? I'm pretty organized overall. Even when I'm messy, my messes are fairly well organized. 90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. Good? Listening, observing, compassion. Not so good? Ferreting out shysters, keeping in touch, swimming 91. Do you like yourself? Indeed, I do! 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) Well, it pays the bills. A girl has to eat. I need a place to sleep. I think I told you, I really want to buy a home. Since I haven't yet written or produced the Next Big Stage Production, I rely on adventuring to bring in the gil. Thank goodness, I actually do genuinely enjoy archery. Something quite comforting about hearing that thwang as my arrow leaves the bow. 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? I would love to be part of the movement that finally brings peace to the planet and provides nutritious meals for every living being. Wouldn't that be lovely? 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Heh I don't know where I'll be in 5 moons, much less 5 years. Given the way the last 5 years have gone, who can tell, really? 95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Oh, this is a sad question. Do I really have to answer? I guess I'd like to be old, but not feeble. Still in possession of my mind and bodily functions. Just go to sleep and not wake up. After a night of warm, sweet... apple tarts. I mentioned how much I love them, right? 96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Hug my mother and father, 3 times each.  Or, if I had a child, hug them, 3 times.  It wouldn't take up the full 24 hours -- hours are bells, yes? -- but I suppose we could stretch it out.  I'd just want to be there with them.  Hold hands.  Share stories. Caress their cheeks. Laugh. 97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? "She was a good friend." 98. What three words best describe your personality? Compassionate, dependable, adaptable. 99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Compassionate, independent, level-headed. 100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…) ((After such a grueling interview, I think I'd just wrap up the session. I'm sure Ami is exhausted. She did a great job, though, don't you think? I think I would just say something like "And with that, we're done", and call it a day)) "And with that, we're done. I think we can call it a day. Thank you." "So, did I pass?  Am I part of the Guild now?" The older woman pushed herself away from the desk and stood up.  Gathering up the book and holding it close, she began to make her way to the door.  She paused, turned toward Amiabelle and nodded. She may have even given a fleeting wink. "Just meet me back at the front desk, dear." RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Raccoon - 07-24-2013 ((I went for my darker character first, just at random. So bear that in mind while reading.)) An almost black-skinned Roegadyn steps into the room, wearing only a pair of tattered trunks and some sandals. He casts his eyes around the dark room a moment and then sits gingerly in the chair that seems to have been designed for the smaller Hyur. "I'm here," he states in his quiet rumble, propping his elbows on the edge of the table as he leans forward, peering into the dark at the featureless figure cast in shadows. "I don't know your game. But let's begin." Show Content
Part 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name? "Zirnansa Swarzoeng," he says simply. "My friends call me Zirn. My family name is... unimportant. I don't suppose I need to tell you what it means?" 2.Where and when were you born? "On a fishing boat, thirty years ago." He makes a disgusted face and shakes his head. "I just hope they hadn't pulled in a haul before that, or at the very least, they didn't serve that fish later." 3.Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) His eyes narrow, the whites turning into narrow slits against his nearly black skin, made all the more dark by the lack of light in the room. "A pair of unimportant, simple fishermen. Leave it at that." 4.Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? "I had an older brother. The perfect son, who thought nothing of a life of endlessly hauling in fish for the village. I'm sure he's still there, regardless of everything else that has gone on in the world since, fishing away." 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. "I have a little place down by the water, near the shipbuilding guild." He smiles faintly, just a hint of white teeth shining. "I like to sit by the window and watch the ships come in. The sea breezes even come in through the window while I sleep. It's a little dose of paradise for me." 6.What is your occupation? "Sailor, or bodyguard. Depending on what's paying." He hesitates a moment, when the next question does not come, and grins. "Oh, yes, and former pirate. Is this the moment the guards burst in?" 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Seeming almost disappointed that the answer to the last question did not bring on a horde of Knights, his tensed muscles visibly relax as he sits back in the chair, which creaks under his weight. "Roegadyn Sea Wolf, male, thirty years of age. Seven and some fulms tall, two hundred and... something ponz." He obviously pulled those numbers out of his head. He runs a hand over his bald head. "I buy some alchemical gunk that I rub on my head and other parts that keep me from growing hair. I like to be smooth, for a variety of reasons. I obviously have dark skin and dark eyes. I'm scarred from head to toe, which tends to happen in my line of work, but I consider them beauty marks." "And, obviously, I tend to like to go around in as little clothing as possible. It's just more comfortable that way." 8.To which social class do you belong? "The take what I need from those who have it sort. That doesn't make me particularly rich or poor, but I imagine you're thinking that makes me low class." He shrugs his shoulders. "That's fine with me, though." 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? "Ha, other than what I've caught from a whore, no." He makes a show of rubbing himself between his legs, a smirk on his lips. "Thanks to alchemists and mages, those are only a temporary discomfort." 10. Are you right- or left-handed? "I'm ambidextrous." 11. What does your voice sound like? "I'm told it's a quiet rumble in normal conversation and a thundering storm in battle." 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? "Curse words? Probably everything. But other than that, I can't imagine what I might use with any frequency." 13. What do you have in your pockets? He pats his tattered shorts, which have no pockets, and simply grins with a shrug of his shoulders. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? "Isn't this the sort of question you ask someone else? Do I really seem the type to be introspective?" He rolls his eyes but then settles into a thoughtful expression. "Let's see. I never pass the red light district without stopping in for some fun. I have a possibly strange desire to have a pet Lalafell. I can't sleep well unless I'm on a ship at sea, or at the very least, with the smell of a sea breeze in the air. How's that?" Show Content
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? "Fish", he states simply. "Endless fish. Fish smells. Fish as food." 16. What is your earliest memory? "Fish?" He waves a hand to indicate the man should just go on to the next question. 17. How much schooling have you had? "Nothing formal, but my captain taught me quite a bit about just about everything. Prior to joining up with him, I learned reading, writing, basic mathematics and such from the village elder. The rest has been self-taught." 18. Did you enjoy school? "Such as it was? Sure. It was time away from the fish." 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? "With the Blacktongues. That's the pirate group I was with." He waves a hand dismissively, with a shake of his head. "They're dead now. Either killed outright or hung upon being brought back here to be judged by the Admiral." He does not seem particularly torn up or angry about it. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. "My captain, Captain Swarzoeng, was my role model. Still is in many ways." He barks out laughter, reaching up to rub his forehead as he muses. "He was the worst bastard I have ever met, cruel and vindictive, murderous and criminal in so many ways. But he taught me everything I know and gave me a life I cherish to this day." "He was my size, much lighter skin, with long braided brown hair and a beard down to his navel. He could, and actually did once, crush a Hyur's skull between his hands." Zirn coughs lightly, hiding a small grin behind his fist. "He, uh, did have an unhealthy fascination with Chocobos though. He kept one in his quarters and killed men that would look at her." "Ah, but it's improper to speak ill of the dead, isn't it? Though it's funnier now that I know he can't kill me for it." 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? “I wanted a life that didn't revolve around fish. What do you think?†22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? “Anything but a fisherman.†23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? “Anything that got me away from the fish. I'd go swimming quite a bit, or watch the ships go out.†24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? He grins. “A complete and utter disregard for the family business. I seem to recall my father wringing my neck for refusing to give him the respect he believed he deserved. In my eyes though, he was just a man that thought a day was fulfilling if he brought in a large haul and nothing more. What can I say? I hit the rebellious stage early.†25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? “I was the odd one in the village that had no interest in fish. What do you think?†“But later, with the Blacktongues, I suppose I was still a child then. They were all my friends. For cutthroat pirates, they were good to me, insofar as teaching a kid the best way to stab someone or how to pick a lock.†26. When and with whom was your first kiss? “I think I kissed a girl in my village. I don't remember her name though. That was a long time ago.†27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? “Ha, no. I lost my virginity to the Captain when I was twelve.†His smile is soft as he remembers. “Ah, but to a woman though, it wasn't until a couple years later, to a Miqo'te prostitute named... Amber, or something to that extent. That doesn't sound like a cat name now that I think about it, but it was something like that.†28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. “The whole life as a pirate, you think?†he questions, with raised eyebrow. Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? “Meeting Llymlaen,†he says, almost too quietly to hear, as he strokes a finger across his chest. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? “The Captain, clearly. Didn't you already ask something like this?†31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? “Staying alive when I should have died,†he replies with a grin and a shrug of his shoulders. “I'm not flush with great achievements.†32. What is your greatest regret? “At times, I regret not dying with the Captain and the others. At others, I regret never going back to see my family, if only to tell them that I'm doing fine. I can only imagine how much they worried for me over the years.†33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? He opens his mouth and then closes it, taking on a thoughtful expression. “I'm... not sure? There's a really long list, and I'm just talking things that even I realize were evil, though mostly only in hindsight. Much of what I do or have done is simply what others think of as evil, while I know they were necessary.†“Eh, pass. I can't think of anything in particular.†34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? He smiles toothily, pearly white against the almost pure black skin. “What do you think?†35. When was the time you were the most frightened? Tilting his head to the side, he takes on a thoughtful look. “Frightened, huh?†He sits back, tilting his head to the other side, the chair creaking dangerously beneath him. “I was frightened in a storm once, when I first boarded the Captain's ship. I thought we would capsize from the waves spilling over the sides, with people getting whipped around by the winds and water.†“Beyond that though, I can't remember a time I was scared out of my wits like that.†36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? Once again, he opens his mouth and then closes it again, this time looking off to the side. “Well...†He sighs, and looks toward the man clad in shadows. “Fine, I've been open about most everything else. Besides, it's not that bad after everything else I've done. The Captain made me dress up like a woman when I was young, only a year after I first joined up, to infiltrate a walled town and deliver a package to a contact inside. I swear I was accosted every few feet by someone in that town.†He makes a sound, a low rumble, almost a growl. “It was only after I got to the tavern that I realized it was all a joke. It was an anniversary celebration for being with them for a year. It was the only time I seriously considered killing the Captain, but he took it in stride, thank the Twelve.†With a sigh, he chuckles faintly. “I still want to kill him for that one, the bastard.†37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? “We covered this. Moving on...†38. What is your best memory? “My first kill.†He holds up a hand. “I know, I know. People tend to say that the first kill is the worst, but for me, it was... exhilarating. It was the first time I was left on my own, the others too busy fighting for their lives to look out for me. I can still remember the look on that Elezen's face as I gutted him. Me, a little sprig at the time, with a cutlass almost as big as I was.†39. What is your worst memory? The almost ecstatic look on his face fades like it was never there. “Once again, we're covering old ground. Move on.†Show Content
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? “Either tends to suggest I think or worry about things ahead of time, right? Not a problem for me.†41. What is your greatest fear? “Being somewhere very high up and not being able to get down. I have nightmares about it. That or falling.†He shudders lightly at the thought. 42. What are your religious views? “I... adore Llymlaen, but other than that, I'm not particularly religious. I believe in the Twelve, but I don't worship them.†43. What are your political views? “The Admiral's a bitch. Other than that, it doesn't cross my mind.†44. What are your views on sex? “Seriously?†he asks, an eyebrow raised. “I don't mind or anything. I just don't think you know what you're getting into.†“Practically anything goes, you know? Guys, girls. I've done just about every race out there, including some of the beast races. Size is sometimes a problem, but that just eliminates certain things, not everything. I've even done a Chocobo once to mock the Captain... well outside his hearing.†He grins. “Too much? Should we move on?†45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? “Obviously,†he rolls his eyes. “I can't think of a single circumstance where I wouldn't kill someone, if I needed or wanted to. More often than not, it happens regardless of my intentions. It's part of that not thinking ahead thing. And also, there are some people that just deserve killing.†“Which, I imagine, lots of people think about people like me.†46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? “Uh... maybe I'm not the best person to ask this question?†47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? “Ha. That's something the lonely think up to imagine they won't be lonely forever, or couples come up with to validate their relationship. Love is just an excuse to screw the guy or girl you're lusting over.†He spreads his hands and shrugs. “I don't need any such excuse. I'm a horny bastard.†48. What do you believe makes a successful life? “Money and material things? Doing what makes you happy? Hells, I don't know.†49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? “I'm answering all your questions with complete honesty, aren't I? I don't care what people think about me, that much should be obvious.†50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? “A ton.†51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? “If I'm being paid to do it, I could probably do just about anything. I probably wouldn't die for something or someone I don't believe in, or get myself arrested, or anything like that. I like my life and my freedom.†52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? He smirks. “Only myself. But beyond that, no, nothing.†Show Content
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? “Hm, I think I treat everyone equally. I'm polite if they're polite, and so on. And, of course, if I know them better, I know how they'll treat me.†He taps a finger against his arm. “Though, I guess if I know them well, I will know why they act the way they do and not get all defensive when they're abrasive. So, yeah, to the second one I guess.†54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? “No one, at the moment. Anyone of any importance is dead.†55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? “Same.†56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. “I, uh, haven't really been going out of my way to make friends lately. I've got the people I work for, sure. And some I work with. But they're just acquaintances.†He shrugs his shoulders. “I'm sure to make some before I know it, though.†57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. “No.†58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. He sighs. “Like I said before, love isn't real. It's an excuse to get to bone the girl or guy in front of you.†59. What do you look for in a potential lover? “That they have the appropriate holes?†he asks with a laugh. “Ah, I don't know. I'm not picky. I guess they just have to be willing, or at least, willing to accept payment for services rendered. They're more likely to do whatever I have in mind at a moment's notice.†60. How close are you to your family? “I don't even know if they survived that mess following the Warriors of Light business. I really should write them a letter and find out.†61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? He makes a face, halfway between disgust and exasperation. “Hell, I barely have a handle on my own life. What makes you think I'm going to bring kids into it? Maybe one day, when I've had all the fun I can handle, but that's a long way off.†62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Frowning, he shrugs his shoulders. “I'll just have to be sure not to get in that kind of desperate situation, won't I?†63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? “I'm not the type to need protection.†64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? “Wow, you're a real bastard.†He says it with something approaching real admiration. “No one, of course.†65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? “The Admiral. The bitch killed my friends. She gave the order at least. I get why she did it, in some recess of my brain, but it doesn't change the fact that I truly despise her.†66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? “Argue, briefly. Then I punch them in the face.†67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? “Uh, no. I'm a follower, especially in those situations.†68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? “Not really?†He grins, shaking his head. “Since I tend to get in a fight even in a casual conversation, having a large group of people there is simply likely to put me in a tougher spot, you know?†69. Do you care what others think of you? “No, of course not. Obviously.†Show Content
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? “Sailing. Fighting. Sex. Relaxing with a strong drink.†He shrugs his shoulders. “Simple pleasures, I'm sure.†71. What is your most treasured possession? “I'm not big on material things. They're likely to get lost, destroyed, or stolen.†He taps his chest. “I'd know.†72. What is your favorite color? “...black?†73. What is your favorite food? “Anything that isn't fish.†74. What, if anything, do you like to read? “I'm not a very voracious reader. Most I've probably read with any enthusiasm are wanted posters. They still have my name wrong.†75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? “Strong drink, some drugs, some dancers. A bard off to the side, quietly playing tunes. Just a quiet, relaxing time is all the entertainment I require. Outside of combat, of course.†76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? “Yeah, mainly for the mellow feeling. It's a nice way to unwind after a long day.†77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? “Uh... it's the same as any other night for me.†He cants his head to the side as he leans forward on the table. “Why? Is it special for most people?†78. What makes you laugh? He sits back when the man answers his question with another question, and smirks. “Lalafells. They're cute. Especially when they fancy themselves warriors.†He pinches his index and thumb together, waving an imaginary toothpick around. “Those tiny blades they call swords, and all decked out in armor.†79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? “I can't think of anything. This shouldn't surprise you after all I've told you.†80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? “I'd take a walk down to Madam Krishna's and spend the night there. Or maybe take a walk down to the docks and breathe in the sea breeze. Or even take a trip to a tavern, get a drink and do a little gambling.†81. How do you deal with stress? “Sex and drugs.†82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? “You really aren't listening when I answer, are you? Spontaneous. I'm incapable of planning ahead.†83. What are your pet peeves? “People that blindly follow the rules given to them by others. The smell of fish. Stuff like that.†Show Content
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? “Uh, wake up, eat a light breakfast, go down to either the docks or the tavern to look for work, do that until evening, eat a proper meal, bathe, and sleep. If I can't find work, I'll go do something less savory or worthwhile.†He scratches his abs, once more leaning back into the groaning chair. “I don't really have a set routine so I'm not too put out when it doesn't go to plan.†85. What is your greatest strength as a person? “My strength, obviously. There's not much out there that can overpower me in a contest of strength.†86. What is your greatest weakness? Running a hand over his bald head, he sighs. “Ah, I have no idea really. This seems like a question for a more introspective person. I guess... my criminal tendencies? My odd morality? Something like that.†87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? “I'm happy the way I am.†88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? “Extroverted. Shouldn't this be obvious?†89. Are you generally organized or messy? “Messy.†90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. “Killing things, sailing, and... swimming?†He thinks about that for a moment and then shrugs, as if that will do. “Things I'm bad at though... uh, settling disputes without violence, going anywhere very high, and thinking things out ahead of time.†91. Do you like yourself? “Obviously.†92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) “I'm big on violence, so it's to sate that need. Plus, adventuring tends to pay off either with straight coin or something I can sell off. I have an expensive lifestyle, after all.†He pauses a moment, and then frowns. “Of course, I'm also trying to... be a better person. Saving people and stuff like that are the best ways to do that.†93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? “Becoming filthy rich? Lord of my own country?†He chuckles. “Just kidding. I have no idea. I'm not a goal-oriented person, obviously. I live life by the day.†94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? “Dead? You like these future questions don't you?†95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? “How very relevant,†he remarks, dryly. He actually thinks about this for a moment, tapping his index finger on the tabletop. “I'd like to die well. I'm not particularly after a quick death or anything, but I'd like to go out doing something. Not just gutted by a Knight of the Barracuda, or hanged, but doing something.†96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. “I'd have my way with the Admiral and possibly kill her after, rut my way through the brothels in the city, and then go out in a blaze of glory against the Knights.†He smirks grimly, before shaking his head. “Though more likely I'll just drink myself into oblivion, buying everyone drinks, and go out in a drunken haze.†97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? “I wouldn't mind being a pirate more feared and revered than Captain Swarzoeng, or any pirate before or after him, but I'll settle for just being the biggest bastard anyone has ever met.†98. What three words best describe your personality? “I've never really thought about it. I'm sure, after all of these questions, you could give me a better answer.†He pauses, waiting, and finally grins. “No? Ah well. Pass.†99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? He counts off his fingers. “Cruel. Callous. Bastard? Sure, that will do.†100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)[/b] The man in the dark leans forward, but not enough for the shadows to recede. “Zirn, I don't have much hope that you will ever change, but I think you have it in you to be more than you are now. Find someone that can bring out those tiny shreds of goodness in your heart, and you will be better for it.†Zirn raises one eyebrow at the man who had spoken nothing but questions this entire time, sitting in silence for a moment, before finally letting loose a low chuckle. “That's your opinion of me after all that? Maybe I just wasn't clear.†He beckons with a finger. “Come over here so I can see what I can do to change that opinion of yours.†Having outlived his welcome, the man in the shadows decides to instead flip the table and dart off into the darkness. In his attempt to jump up and follow, Zirn suddenly finds himself on the floor after the abused chair finally gives up and collapses beneath him, followed shortly by the flipped table that pins him to the floor. “Oy! You bastard!†Zirn roars, trying to extricate himself from beneath the table. “Get back here. Get... when I find you, I'm going to pummel your ass!†RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Twinflame - 07-24-2013 Megiddo is a tall, thin, and practically ancient Duskwight that one would encounter in the Black Shroud. He would wander into the tavern, take a good look around, and find someone sitting alone to share a table with and strike up conversation. He may also try and stick that person with his bill, since he doesn't have any money. Show Content
Part One, the Basics1.What is your full name?
Just Megiddo, anymore. 2.Where and when were you born? In caves beneath the Black Shroud, oh, around eighty years ago. 3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) Eillaume was my father, and Maëliene was my mother. They were wise and cunning people who lived in the dark, poaching and harvesting the Shroud to get by. From them, and my aunts and uncles, I learned how to make my living at the expense of those who would deny me that right. They also taught me that there are no stronger ties than blood, and the thicker that blood gets, the faster the venom flows when things go wrong. 4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like? I had several siblings, all of whom are deceased. My parents raised them well, and I do miss them. But it has been a long time, and it does no good to carry along regrets for that long. 5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people. I live alone, and home is a shaded tree-limb or a pit, or a bush. It's too much to ask for a good, dry cavern these days. The Shroud provides ample places with comfortable dirt and pleasant-smelling foliage where an old man can settle his bones for the night. 6.What is your occupation? I'm what could be thought of as a retired hermit. We Duskwight don't much care for the city-states the rest of you so adore, and the rest of you don't much care for us Duskwight. I've recently stopped worrying so much about being disliked, though, and have permitted Oschon to guide my footsteps to meet many people and go places I would not think to otherwise. I even spent a night in an inn a few weeks back: a most foreign experience. 7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Now that's an odd question to ask of an old man. I was always the tallest of my brothers. Even taller than my father, I think. Thinner, though, and I've been losing more weight with all this walking, and being less able to hunt these days. Are my eyes still pale? I haven't checked my reflection in... some time. I suppose my beard and hair are a mess too. But I'm a hermit, and nobody would trust me if I didn't look the part. 8.To which social class do you belong? I honestly doubt I've ever been part of any of them. 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I am old. I grow tired and move slowly. My breath leaves me rather quickly, and once I sit down, I usually have to rest before I stand again. I suppose that counts as a weakness, and it's one you'll all have eventually. 10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right-handed. I had a brother who was left-handed, and he was a little dull. Oh! I'm not saying there's a connection. I was just... Ah, let an old man ramble. 11. What does your voice sound like? Ahem. Old. *coughing* 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? I speak of Oschon and the Twelve a great deal. Recently, I've come to believe that Oschon may have taken me as an acolyte, as my wanderings consistently bring me to very interesting places at very interesting moments. And once or twice, I could not explain how I got there. For instance, if not through divinity, how would an old man accidentally wander from the North Shroud to Thanalan in a single day? And run repeatedly into a person, by chance, as though following them; not just twice, but five or seven times? 13. What do you have in your pockets? Berries. And my berry-picking gloves. A pair of goggles to protect my eyes from sand. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? First of all, I am a Duskwight, which qualifies as every one of those. Additionally, I tend to be very interested in the business of others, which I suppose can get a bit annoying. But I figure, if Oschon guides me to someone, I should take a special interest in them. Show Content
Part Two, Growing Up15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Well this is an odd question. I learned a lot, but it's impossible to be a child without learning. What I learned, then, should be the answer. I learned to live independent of society, and I learned to live not for myself but for my family. My brothers and I were not allowed to ask for things for ourselves, but instead, for one another. When acquiring food and supplies, we stole or hunted with our siblings in mind, and I trusted my brothers to keep me in mind when they were out hunting in turn. 16. What is your earliest memory? One of my older brothers requested a new hunting spear on my behalf, which my father provided to me, because when we requested things for one another they were provided. However, my brother stole the spear from me immediately. I asked my mother what had happened and she explained that I had been taken advantage of. Being too young and small to take retribution myself, I asked that my father to take it for me. But he refused, because I was not allowed to ask for things for myself, even retribution. I resolved to wait until I was older and take vengeance then, but when I was older, I no longer cared. That was a lesson in wisdom no man but my father could have taught me. 17. How much schooling have you had? My upbringing included lessons taught by my father and mother, uncles and aunts, older siblings and grand-parents. There were of course no schools. But I continued to learn from my family until death claimed them all. 18. Did you enjoy school? Overall, learning from my family members was an enlightening experience. Youth is enjoyable, though the learning could be difficult and painful. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? From my family, as I've said. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? Â If so, describe them. I did not meet many outside of my family. We were insular, as was the best policy for us during that time. I aspired to be like my father, as did all my brothers. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? Oh, I could take about this for years. Some I got along with better. Most I was generally amicable with. Some, at least I did not kill them. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A man. It was accepted that we would all be hunters, gatherers, builders, maintainers. We would each do what was necessary to maintain the family. I aspired to be an excellent hermit in a family full of hermits. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? I enjoyed stealing from nearby settlements. This is something I can admit to freely, for it was a way of life for us. I was also quite exceptional at it, or so I remember thinking at the time. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? Competitiveness. We were all taught concern for one another, thoughtfulness, compassion, but the spirit of competition, the want to be better than my brothers, was a thing that drove a great deal of my actions. My siblings were not very different in this respect. 25. As a child, were you popular? Â Who were your friends, and what were they like? I was not the favorite among my siblings, and to my cousins, I was quite invisible. I was much closer to my brothers and older family members. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? That was a... I think I will keep this as a private story. 27. Are you a virgin? Â If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? ... 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. Â If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. This question is plainly ludicrous. Show Content
Part Three, Past Influences29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
The death of my son. He was the last of those who were with me, and I have never lost more than I did on that day. It took away so much of what came before, and everything that could have come after. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? I have been told many times that I am exactly like my father. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? I had many children, at one point. And they had children themselves. They were beautiful, each of them. Each thought they had and action they took was inspirational. Even if such a thing has expired, it was real. That my descendants walked this continent and influenced it does matter. 32. What is your greatest regret? On occasion I wonder how things would have been different if my children had met their grandfather. If I could have saved his life, would he have taught them better than I did? Would they have lived longer? Would they still be here... Ah. That is a cruel question to ask an old man! 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? And this, crueler yet. You do not wish to know the answer to this. 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? I bear the record of every crime committed by a Duskwight. To the Wildwood and many others, there is no difference between one Duskwight and the next. Myself and my family have contributed a great deal to this perception, and I will not hide from it. 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? The eve of the Calamity. Not a particularly surprising answer, is it? 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? That would be my first kiss, but we aren't speaking of that, are we? 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I would have saved my father's life, of course. 38. What is your best memory? My first grandson was born in the caverns my father had left to us, and he reminded me of my grandfather. At the time, I felt like my lineage would last forever, had lasted forever, and that my grandfather and father were immortalized in the blood of my children. 39. What is your worst memory? I could not save my son. Though I denied him the right to go to Cartenau and defend Eorzea from our enemies without, it was not enough to spare him from the Calamity. I was not near him, either. I did not see. I like to think that he... No, this question is too much. I would not have answered at all if I did not think that it was Oschon's will that I speak to you. That is enough. Part Four, Beliefs and Opinions40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Things turn out well if the right decisions are made, and I am optimistic that all can make the correct decisions in every situation. Sometimes they do not, but, sometimes they do. 41. What is your greatest fear? When a person has lived a life such as I have, then they begin to run out of fears. I do not fret, though I do worry, that I will see more misery in my life before I die. 42. What are your religious views? The Twelve observe and guide, though they do so subtly. If one releases their control to them, there can be no misstep or coincidence, only providence. Had I believed so when I was younger, my life would have been very different. 43. What are your political views? I believe in the Grand Companies and those who lead them. The City-States bicker, though, like children who have yet to mature. When they do grow up, though, they will be strong. 44. What are your views on sex? Let the young be young, as long as they don't kill themselves, or one another, over it. 45. Are you able to kill? Â Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? I killed many people as a young man. We tried to avoid it, but sometimes it was necessary to defend and provide for our family. We often treated violence like we treated other methods of provision; one does not undertake it for themselves. We killed and fought for one another, so I believe it was acceptable. One should not kill in their own name. 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? To answer this I need simply remind you of Dalamud and those who brought it down. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? They aren't the same thing. True love exists between a person and their mate, their children, their family. I do not believe that a soul can have only one mate. Life is too long and difficult for such a restriction, and love is too easy, too valuable, to turn aside arbitrarily. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? One should have many children and then die young. This is the best way to succeed. One can go on living if they wish, but they must do so not for themselves, but for their family. 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? Does it sound to you like I am hiding anything? 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? As a Duskwight, I am of coursed biased in favor of my own people. My distant family are family still. The world of the overlanders is prejudiced against us, and we against it. And a person like me should avoid the Wildwood. They do not permit us comfort, and we do not pretend that they do. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Â Why do you refuse to do it? I do not like to play with hypotheticals. This question is quite extreme, and I will not let my imagination journey to unsavory things. Not at this point in my life. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? Obviously, family. These days, I would die for a single day in the body I had fifty years ago. Show Content
Part Five, Relationships With Others53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Â Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Too heavy a question. I am open and enjoy meeting people. I become more open over time, and hope others do as well, for each person is an endless fount of secrets. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? First it was my father, and then my wife, and then my son. Now, it is myself, and there is no fate worse than being primarily important to one's self. Â I distract myself from that by wandering the paths of the Shroud and making pivotal connections with those whom I meet. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Oh, Oschon, I suppose, for his wisdom guides me. Is that cheating? Haha, I suppose it is. Ah well. 56. Who are your friends? Â Do you have a best friend? Â Describe these people. My friends are those whom I meet in my travels. Some I have met repeatedly, and I suppose these are my best friends. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? Â If so, describe this person. My wife is gone, and I will let her memory rest in peace. 58. Have you ever been in love? Â If so, describe what happened. This question should have preceded the previous one. I have been in love many, many times. That does not even count the love I felt for my children and grandchildren. 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Power. I my youth I appreciated a formidable lover; there was nothing more attractive than the ability to strike my heart with terror. *chuckling* 60. How close are you to your family? I believe you can infer the answer to this question from the conversation thus far. 61. Have you started your own family? Â If so, describe them. Â If not, do you want to? Â Why or why not? I had a family, and it is gone. It is too late in this old man's life to start another. It was too late thirty years ago. 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? There is no one left for me but the Twelve. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Â Who, and why? I do not. There is no value in protecting a man such as myself. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? *laughing* I'm sure no one would notice! 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Hm. Something terrible once happened to my grandson, and we lost him as a result. The person responsible still lives, but what am I to do with her? Or with my emotions of anger? 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? As I think I have implied, I do not engage in conflict for my own sake. I do not have anyone in my life for whom to fight, anymore, so avoiding conflict comes naturally. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Were my family still alive, I would have passed on leadership to my son by now. No, I do not lead. I am beyond that point in my life. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Â Why or why not? Oschon typically leads me to smaller meetings. One or two people at a time, I think, leads to more worthwhile conversations. 69. Do you care what others think of you? Do others think of me? That would be shocking. Show Content
Part Six, Likes and Dislikes70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
A hermit is supposed to carve things and terrify passersby, isn't he? I only manage one of the two on a regular basis, and I do not have a knife. 71. What is your most treasured possession? Memory. Is that so different from any other old man? 72. What is your favorite color? Hm. I'll say gray, or a very dark blue, so that you do not mistake me for an interesting person. 73. What is your favorite food? Ah! There are these berries that grow in the dense parts of the Shroud! The Woowailers do not approve of my picking them, but the objections of young overlanders won't stop an old man from partaking of one of the few joys left in his life. There are also olives, which I've learned to appreciate jsut recently, though finding them it a bit more difficult. 74. What, if anything, do you like to read? I do know a handful of words which I've read several times throughout my life. 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? I find people and conversations entertaining. There is little else for me to engage in. 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? Â If so, why? Â Do you want to quit? I drink some when it is available, and I have smoked. Why would I want to quit? 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Sleeping in the woods. Saturday is no different from any other day. 78. What makes you laugh? That's hard to predict. Those whom I meet are often amusing to me. As an old man, I've seen much and I know much of people, and I can often look through someone's words to see their thoughts. They rarely coincide, and this is frequently amusing. 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Oh, I expect and insist on politeness as much as anyone else. Inconsiderate overlanders and prideful Wildwood are frustrating to interact with, and it comes up quite often. Youth is not an excuse for misbehavior. 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? Walk and think. Â Either one takes enough energy. 81. How do you deal with stress? The same way I deal with anything else. The simplicity of my life can not be overemphasized. I walk, and I think. 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? If you can call wandering a plan, then yes, I always have a plan. 83. What are your pet peeves? The only things that deeply bother me are rudeness and arrogance. Nobody has a right to either one of these things, and one should be humiliated if they exude them. Show Content
Part Seven, Self-Image and Etc.84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. Â How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I wander, waiting for Oschon to guide me to something of interested. It is not possible to disrupt such a routine, as the disruptions themselves are what I seek. 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? My flexibility, perhaps? My willingness to speak? Strength takes on a different meaning to an old man. What is there left to be strong or weak against? Only time and one's own thoughts. 86. What is your greatest weakness? It might not surprise you to be informed that some days I'm quite easy to frustrate, and often I find myself unwilling or unable to move about and wander. Since wandering and speaking with those I meet is a goal, being unable to do so is a weakness. 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Honestly? I would have died fifty years ago. I would settle for being young again, but to not have lived, would be even better. 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? My purpose and goal is to meet and interact with people. In that, I am very extroverted. 89. Are you generally organized or messy? I live in the woods and have few possessions, so it's rather moot. Back when I had a home and possessed more things, those things seemed to wander about on their own. I do not know if that was me misplacing things or my grandchildren playing with my aging mind, but it did happen. 90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. I am good at judging character, paying attention, and sleeping in strange positions. I am not very good at moving around, answering questions like this one, or at appearing non-threatening. 91. Do you like yourself? This isn't something I've thought of. I would say that I am at peace with myself. 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) You seem to ahve mistaken me fore someone a great deal younger than I am. That is deeply flattering, but it also causes me to wonder about your faculties. 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? It has been accomplished! Now I wish only to continue until my end. 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? You didn't this question out, did you? I will either be here, or dead. 95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Younger, still stupid, and alone. A long time ago. 96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Eat some olives, take a bath, and find a nice, comfortable pit to crawl into. 97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? My family, who is all but forgotten. These questions are not kind to me. 98. What three words best describe your personality? I would like to think words such as wise and amicable, but as I am a Duskwight and a hermit, I think they would actually be: disturbing, invasive and strange. 99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Wait, this is more than one question now? Very well.  Gray, old, tall. Hah! 100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…) I'd sit him down, look him straight in the eyes, and say, "Stop being a hermit, move to Ul'dah, make some friends, die happy.  It wouldn't be that hard." RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - sanguineFenrir - 07-26-2013 I would have posted earlier, but this took me three days to do, on and off. I can't get the spoiler tags to work--the first spoiler is 1-15 and the second is 16-100.) Show Content
Kevaraan Annorek1.What is your full name? Kevaraan Annorek.
2.Where and when were you born? I was born on the ninth sun of the Sixth Astral Moon, in or around Gridania. About 24 cycles ago. 3.Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) My father, who most people call Kaz, hunted and sold the spoils. He also was involved with protecting the city, but lacked the formal identity of a Wood Wailer. He was very laid back with a strong sense of humor, able to get along with anyone. That’s probably what keeps my mother together with him. Ciselia can be odd at times, absent-minded... She’s a traditionalist, and stubborn about it. But she’s skilled at healing the sick and can make a draught for just about any purpose. 4.Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I was an only child. 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I board alone in Gridania, at a room in the Carline Canopy inn (which I’m meticulous about keeping paid off.) The Canopy is typically a busy place, thriving under the rush of adventurers.                                                                6.What is your occupation? I travel around Eorzea and lend assistance to those I come across. I’m not necessarily seeking adventure--that’s a bit too brash--but it would be accurate to call me a jack-of-all-trades. Learning in itself might as well be my job. 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. I suppose someone’s going to read this later. Very well, I’ll be brief: a little tall, very lean Mi’qote of the moon clan, with long black hair and pale yellow-green eyes that run in my family. The unusually long ears and tail do as well, but I don’t have any scars... unless you count the piercings, which probably do serve the same effect. My wardrobe is varied, but it usually consists of leathers in muted colors, nothing garish. 8.To which social class do you belong? Whether with my parents or without, I’ve never given much consideration to this. We always had enough to get what we needed, but weren’t extravagant: you might say we lived off the land. I was raised by my parents to be frugal and take only what I need, but I do keep a reasonable amount of gil in savings. 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? As far as I know, no... 10. Are you right- or left-handed? I’m right-handed, but I can write with my left if need be. 11. What does your voice sound like? I’m going to assume this is another question to be read. It’s hard to describe--airy, but not tinny or scrawny, with a serene or slightly educated tone. Certainly not gruff or baritone. Some say I develop a slight native accent when angered. 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? How should I know? I suppose “delightful†counts--in response to bad news, annoyances, or unforeseen challenges. 13. What do you have in your pockets? I don’t wear anything that has pockets. They strike me as useless, and I’m always worried I’ll forget about or lose their contents anyway. Also, why enable thieves? 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I never show my teeth when smiling, unless angry--which doesn’t make it a smile anymore, does it? Basics15. How would you describe your childhood in general? Hectic and chaotically paced, but never dull. My formative years in Gridania were probably the most typical, and sometimes I wish I’d more time there. Sometimes it felt like we traveled every week, and it did bother me, occasionally. But there was always a new place to see or new people to meet.
16. What is your earliest memory? Waking up in the morning to a shaft of Gridanian sunlight, and smelling the herbs my mother was grinding while she sang. It was a nonsensical song: no words, just sound. But I think that’s why I remember. 17. How much schooling have you had? My parents taught me some things as a kid. How to hunt, how to swim, which plants were poisonous--as well as how to handle a spear. I had little formal education until I got older and we traveled; I taught myself how to better read and write, and was always reading books and such. That was one of the things my parents let me go off to do. Generally, most of my learning has been by experience, as well as curiosity--I’m more educated than either of my parents, when it comes to actual “book†learning. 18. Did you enjoy school? I enjoy the pursuit of knowledge, very much so. But I’m aware that books only provide so much. I often spent my spare time at the various Adventurers’ Guilds of wherever we were at, when I was old enough. I’ve done well enough to pass in all the arts and trades--but I often worried what the instructors would think, or if I’d be able to juggle it all. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? I think I just answered this: my parents taught me all that was practical or of the wilds, and there were books or guilds for everything else. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. My parents, all their flaws and strengths considered. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? Extremely well. Because it was just the three of us, we’ve always been close-knit; despite my father’s myriad acquaintances, he always put us first. He and I were always joking around and having fun. My mother could be stern; overprotective even, but in her own somewhat silly way, and it was obvious she deeply cared about us both. I also helped defuse any disagreements my parents might have had over petty or small matters. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? ...Just myself. Truth be told, I could never decide between alchemy or conjury.... or hunting.... or maybe I could be a scholar in Ul’Dah... you get the idea. Eventually I just decided to put everything together, since I seemed to be in a good position to do so. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Reading. Making potions. Exploring my surroundings, and (every once in a while) climbing trees. I also liked to watch people, and still do. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I was intelligent, naturally curious. Some would even say I was precocious. But, around people other than my parents, I tended to speak out of turn or deliver quite the sharp remarks. I also tended to be a loner, outside of my own family. 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? I kept to myself most of the time. I’d go around and play with the other children in Gridania when I was young, sure. But, as you know, the city was tense, and our parents tended not to get along. I can hardly remember those people--those friendships were simple affairs-- “I’ll hang out with you because you’ve got the same lunch as me.†and such. After we started traveling, it was so often that it was useless to bother, although I did have some adults I got along with, like the librarian. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? In Limsa Lominsa... by the docks... during the sunset... with her. That’s all I’d like to say. 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? I’m still a virgin and see no shame in admitting the fact. But I have no interest in changing the fact, either. 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. I don’t understand why this question exists, when it seems like I’ve covered the topics so thoroughly. Werewolf? Is that some other clan? Part 3: Past Influences 29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? I don’t think I should assign importance to any one event over the other, seeing as everything tends to be connected. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? I’ll be a good, dutiful son, and say my parents--but I’ve influenced and have been influenced by equally large pools of people, I’m sure. It would be unfair to discredit them--as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes the world to allow a person to grow. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? I consider myself fortunate to be able to study a large variety of disciplines, but that isn’t exactly an achievement--I’d like to think such a thing hasn’t happened yet. 32. What is your greatest regret? I make an effort not to regret anything, as it’s not good for the mind, nor the spirit. I tend to avoid doing that which I might have second thoughts over. To this day, there’s one thing I mull over, though--I often wonder what would have happened if I had stayed behind with her when my father went off to Carteneau. I wonder if we would still be together--or alive. 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? During my childhood, my father sent me to kill a deer. I searched for a long while, and I eventually happened across a doe and her fawn. As it was getting late, I killed them both, instead of risking going back empty-handed. I thought he would be proud, but I think he was more disappointed than he would have been had I spared them. That incident turned into what was probably the most prominent lesson on respecting life I ever received--and it doubled as a lesson on pride. 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? No, nothing official or traceable... The closest thing I did to that was steal an apple or two as a kid--the sort of thing every kid does, just to see if they can. The record for that is little more than a slap on the wrist and a few stern glares. 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? Hearing about the Garlean invasions. Hearing my father was going to go to Carteneau. Hiding out in Limsa Lominsa and then deciding to get on the next transport over there. The hours alone with cargo... Just that entire time... 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? I’m not easily embarrassed, but if I were to answer, it wouldn’t be embarrassing. I’m tempted to say “this interviewâ€, though. 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I’ve already alluded to it. Staying or going that day, but I’m not sure if I would, since I’ve no idea what would happen if I did. I also sometimes wonder what it would have been like to grow up among a tribe of my own kind, 38. What is your best memory? Any of the times I’ve had with my family, both good times and hard ones. 39. What is your worst memory? It appears I must repeat myself again. Carteneau. 40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? I take things as they come--good or bad. I do keep some hope alive, for my parents. But I don’t believe in looking at the world one way or the other. 41. What is your greatest fear? This is a complicated question. First, I would say I fear that she is dead, or worse, that she did not exist at all. Then I fear that my parents may be dead, and that I wasn’t there to help them. But, between those, I worry again about her, and what she did to make me think of her before my kin. And why. 42. What are your religious views? I think about religion often, and I find the Twelve and their domains to be interesting topics of study. But, despite my mother being a devout believer, I wonder if they exist, or if they really are what we believe them to be. I wonder how “human†they are, and if their selves don’t mean something else entirely. I do recognize the Twelve and their faith as a pillar of society, for better or worse, although I never have prayed. 43. What are your political views? Politics inevitably invites corruption, no matter how great the ideal it aspires to. I don’t worry about it at all, because people will wage wars regardless of who is in power. 44. What are your views on sex? I understand I wouldn’t be here without it and that it’s necessary to keep species balanced. But I find it nothing short of disgusting when observed as a means for anything else, even pleasure, and I don’t understand why people make such a big deal of it. 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? I’ve been exposed to death from a young age and taught that it was a natural part of life. I can readily hunt (humanely, of course) and defend myself and those I care about--but I understand and expect any killing beyond that to have consequences. 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Rape, torture, or lying. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? Yes. I’ve already found mine, and I am searching for her again. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Being content with yourself and your past actions, while not wasting any time or experiences, if it can be helped. 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I make a point to be honest with even those who might dislike me (and even if I’d be better off lying). I keep to myself, but have no problem with talking to people if necessary or if approached. I volunteer little information of my own accord, but I generally will if asked and if comfortable with the person; that is the only advantage those who have known me longer receive. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Those who openly deny they have biases often have many. I’m relatively tolerant as a result of being raised among many types of people, and I try to look at everything objectively. But I can have a difficult time dealing with the promiscuous or hedonistic. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? I refuse to breed, for reasons stated above, and I refuse to allow those I’m close to to endanger themselves. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? My family, and her. 53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? As I stated above, I tend to be polite with people, if a bit standoffish. I have a hard time getting close to even those that profess to like me a lot or know me well. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Her, because of who she is, or was. Because of what she means to me. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? I will direct you to my previous answer. 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I’d like to get to know people, but that’s something I’m still working on, as I’m still re-settling here in Gridania. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. I did. But I cannot tell you. 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. I said I can’t tell you. (He stares blankly at you, eyes narrowed.) 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Is it normal to have a list of this sort of information? I don’t have a set of qualities... I’m only interested in one person. 60. How close are you to your family? As I’ve told you... extremely close. We were separated after the Calamity, but I have a strong feeling that both of my parents are still alive. 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? I’m not interested, much to my mother’s disappointment, because of my attitudes on sex. That, and my partner is not a Mi’qote. She insists she would make a poor parent. 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Right now, I’m on my own--but I hope to remedy the problem soon. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? I’ll repeat what I’ve said, while adding that I’m fairly self-reliant. I think I’m the one who would be doing the protecting. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? My parents. I can tell exactly how much as well, because I miss them as much. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? I don’t hold any long-standing grudges right now. I won’t be so naive to say that I’ll go my whole life without doing so, and I am prepared to work through such a thing in the future. I know it will allow me to have a greater understanding of myself. 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I’m not opinionated--there are few things that make me genuinely angry. An opinion easily swayed is not one worth holding, but I don’t actively seek to change people--other perspectives are there should they wish to see them. I will fight to defend my life, however. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? I am neither a leader nor a follower, but I’ll support my allies as equals in whatever personal challenges they need to overcome. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? I can move through a crowd if I have to, but it’s not something I would willingly choose to be around. It’s distracting. 69. Do you care what others think of you? Yes, but only from a certain perspective. I won’t change my behavior, beliefs, or personality for other people, but I am interested in seeing how I am perceived so that I can see how people think about others. 70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? They’re largely unchanged from my childhood: reading, writing, exploring, gathering. I also meditate, and I’m looking to experiment with cooking as well. 71. What is your most treasured possession? The most important thing I own is this silver pendant, which is cut into the shape of a wolf ouroboros--it’s eating its own tail. The red gem in the center’s always interested me, but I prefer not to have it appraised--I wouldn’t want to ruin the meaning of it, as I know it was important to who gave it to me. 72. What is your favorite color? Red. It’s sort of my family’s color, as our markings are red, and my mother wore a beautiful red dress on holidays. 73. What is your favorite food?  I’ll be sure to give you a more in-depth answer after I’ve sampled a variety of Lominsan delicacies--but I enjoy my mother’s stew, as well as fresh fruit.       74. What, if anything, do you like to read? I enjoy reading a variety of works, but particularly enjoy well-written historical accounts and fiction or fable anthologies. 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? I enjoy the shows and festivities at Mih Ketto’s Amphitheatre, when they happen. 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? I don’t drink or smoke at all... Next question... 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? What is this? A holiday? 78. What makes you laugh? Regrettably, not a lot. I’m not one for slapstick, but my dad usually was able to crack me up as a kid. Nowadays, I suppose my sense of humor could be considered dry. 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? I understand that evil is part of the world, but I’d have to say unwarranted cruelty to animals or beasts does get to me. Again, I was taught from a young age to respect nature and all within it. 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? I’d order or prepare a cup of tea, go outside, and watch the stars while drinking it. If I really couldn’t sleep, I might consider going for a walk. Incidentally, I wind up doing this more often than I’d care to admit, especially as of late. 81. How do you deal with stress? I don’t--historically, that has never been my strong point. I suppose the least I could do is take things one day at a time, particularly if something is expected to last a while. 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? For my typical day-to-day actions, I start out with a rough idea and see where it goes. I apply this approach to most things, but for complicated operations (hypothetically, battles), I’m guaranteed to have a plan. I’m quite good at planning things out mentally. 83. What are your pet peeves? When people arrive late, or fail to prepare adequately for events. Immaturity also tends to get on my nerves. Part 7: Self Images And Etc. 84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I wake up and have breakfast at the inn, then go out to wherever I need to, sometimes by way of Aethernet. From there, it’s either guildwork, or harvesting, or helping those who need it. I come back to the inn for lunch, go back to my “workâ€, and come back for dinner. After dinner, I might read a bit, or take a walk, then go to bed. Market days are similar, except those are my “days offâ€. I spend them wandering around the city or helping guild apprentices, depending on my mood. I welcome any changes to the routine, as it’s not good to get into a rut. 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? My ability to approach a situation objectively, even if it’s potentially volatile. 86. What is your greatest weakness? Not being able to specialize in merely one or two fields of study. I guess paranoia also counts. 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? This question is far too generalized for me to answer. Perhaps I’d give myself less patience for oddly thorough interviews. 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted, although I do enjoy people, specifically in small numbers. I’d rather spend more energy on myself than socializing. 89. Are you generally organized or messy? Organized, but I tend to use strange methods other people might consider messy. 90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. I’m great at counseling people, learning new information or skills, and following through with things or keeping my word. I’m really not good with managing a business (or something of similar scale, like a political campaign), dealing with children, or lying. 91. Do you like yourself? I don’t understand the means by which someone could like, or dislike, themselves. 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) The answer to this question is simple: I’d like to experience as many things in the world as possible. 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? There’s no way to measure the wonders of the world, so I can’t say. Right now, I just want to find my parents and the one who means the most to me. 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Hopefully reunited with my parents and showing the world to her. 95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? I would want to die in the midst of something or someplace beautiful, either alone, or with my friends and family around me. Alternately, I’d want to die together with her. 96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. I’d spend a good portion of the time having one last talk with my parents. I would have an extravagant wedding, if she and I were not married already, and then I would go to where the Aether is the thickest in this world. There, I’d meditate and focus my thoughts until I passed. 97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? I’m not sure. I’d probably want the core of my self, as opposed to my deeds, to be remembered. 98. What three words best describe your personality? Devoted, intelligent, troubled. 99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? I can’t speak for others. 100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…) Stay as you are, and continue doing what you’re doing, but don’t worry too much about the consequences of the interview. Actually, you would benefit from worrying less in general, while remaining vigilant. RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Raccoon - 07-27-2013 ((Aaand my other character. The good guy this time.)) The diminutive Lalafell looks up at the weary traveler, leaning on a spear as if it is a walking stick. The Hyur, a Midlander by the look of him, had arrived early this morning and indicated, through gestures and a single spoken word, that he would like to rent one of the landlady's apartments. The potential renter nodded along to all the guidelines she would be enforcing and proved that he could handle the initial deposit. The landlady then hands over a questionnaire. “I usually just ask the questions, but here I'm thinking that might be difficult for you. Just fill that out so I can get an idea of you, and decide if you're a good match, yeah?†The man stares at her for a moment before lightly shrugging his shoulders, accepting both the sheets of paper and a quill, before taking a seat in the lobby to get to work. Seeming almost like a completely different person for a moment, she remarks to him, “You're a good person, Deitrych, but you could give being a little more selfish a try. You owe the world nothing for living when others died, you were merely lucky. Don't let your guilt over simple chance run the rest of your life.†As Deitrych stares at the woman in silence, she holds her head as if suddenly dizzy, putting her other against the wall for balance. After regaining her composure, she gives a wane smile to the man waiting on her. “Whoo, sorry about that. Everything looks to be in order, sir. Causing some sort of trouble with my twin. 17.How much schooling have you had? How are you defining 'schooling'? I already told you I'm studying at the Arcanist's guild. Human? What are those? You mean Hyur, uh hate to break it to you but I'm a Miqo'te, a Keeper of the Moon if you haven't figured it out. I'm not going to even bother trying to guess what you meant by supernatural beings. Part 3: Past Influences 29.What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? My exile for wanting to study magic. 30.Who has had the most influence on you? One of my moms former adventuring buddies who retired to become a hearer at Stillglade Fane in Gridania. He's the one who gave me the push I needed to admit that I did want to learn more about magic, and damn what that fool matriarch I had thought about it. 31.What do you consider your greatest achievement? Working up the courage to leave my village to study magic knowing I'd not be able to return as long as the matriarch lived, even if I did need a kick to get over the final hump. 32. What is your greatest regret? That I had to choose between following my dreams and staying with my family. 33.What is the most evil thing you have ever done? My former-matriarch would say it was wanting to study magic. But my a reasonable definition of “evil†I haven't done anything even close. 34.Do you have a criminal record of any kind? In the eyes of my former-matriarch I've committed the unforgivable sin of learning magic, but otherwise no. 35.When was the time you were the most frightened? Not for you to know. 36.What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? None of your concern. 37.If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I wouldn't of tried to ignore what my branch of the Moui family refers to as “the callâ€, its never ended well for those who tried, and it didn't work out well for me. 38.What is your best memory? Summoning my carbuncle for the first time 39.What is your worst memory? Having to leave my home as an exile, with my own older brother acting like I never existed. Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions 40.Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? I like to think of myself as an optimist. 41.What is your greatest fear? Nothing you have any right to know. 42.What are your religious views? I believe in the Twelve of course, and I know the Elementals are real even if I never was able to really hear them well enough to become a full fledged conjurer. 43.What are your political views? That someone is the best qualified to lead just because they're the oldest is a bunch of crap. 44. What are your views on sex? *Blushes* No-None of your concern. 45.Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? If I had to I probably could, but I'd prefer not to. As for when its acceptable, if they're trying to kill you or an innocent then killing is an acceptable measure of last resort. 46.In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Again with the “humansâ€? I'm guessing you mean the various races of Eorzea? That'd have to be judging and exiling someone just because of what they are. 47.Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? I'm just out of my tribe, no idea yet. 48.What do you believe makes a successful life? Living how you want to live, without taking from others. 49.How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I am honest about my thoughts and feelings to people I trust, though I do no when to hold my tongue. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Other then the fact that nothing my former-matriarch could ever do would redeem her in my eyes, no I have no biases or prejudices. 51.Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Bow down to my former-matriarch, as for why have you not been paying attention?! She exiled me just because I wanted to study magic. 52.Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? For now, just my twin. As far as I'm concerned my oldest brother is already dead and my mother would forcibly pull me back into the land of the living before killing me herself if I died to save her. Part5: Relationships With Others 53.In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? I'm pretty reserved around people I don't know, but I don't avoid contact with them. Of course I treat people I know better then some random stranger off the street. I'm not going to tell everything to some random person, but a close friend I'd have no issues confiding in. 54.Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Much as I'm loath to admit it, it's probably my former-matriarch, if not for her exiling me I might not have heeded the call so easily, and the call does not like it when my family ignores it. 55.Who is the person you respect the most, and why? It ain't my eldest brother I'll tell you that much. Honestly I'd have to say my mother, even when I was exiled she still supported me and gave me some basic supplies to help me get started along with letters of introduction to her former adventuring companions if I ran into them and needed shelter. 56.Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I haven't really made any friends since my exile, and before hand most of the members of my village were a bit stuck up, expecting me to be the good little boy and follow the will of the matriarch. 57.Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Still single. 58.Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. Nope 59.What do you look for in a potential lover? Haven't even thought about it honestly. 60.How close are you to your family? I'm very close to my twin, and fairly close to my mother. I get, or at least got, along well with most of my aunts and a few of my cousins. As for my oldest brother...like I said earlier he's dead as far as I'm concerned. 61.Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? Single so, no. 62.Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Xha'to, my twin or to a few of my mothers old adventuring buddies I've met on my journey here to Limsa Lolimsa. 63.Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Kinzie, a hearer in Gridania at Stillfane Glade, as for why he's an old friend of my moms, and the one that gave me the kick I needed to set out and study magic. Also Xha'to, as I trust him implicitly. 64.If you died or went missing, who would miss you? My twin and mother. 65.Who is the person you despise the most, and why? That Garuda and Bahamut spawned matriarch from my former tribe. 66.Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? If someone is acting stupidly and endangering others then yes I'll argue with 'em, other wise I'll let them learn from experience. 67.Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Not really, part of my tribal upbringing I'm still working around. 68.Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? I prefer interacting with small groups of people because being from a tribe of only fifty or so tops, I don't have a lot of experience in large groups especially as we were rarely are gathered in the same place at the same time. 69. Do you care what others think of you? I effectively told my former-matriarch to shove her anti-magic views in front of most of the village elders what do you think? Part6: Likes And Dislikes 70.What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? I've become rather fond of swimming in the ocean, and also enjoy reading when I'm not out studying for school or doing some levequests to make rent and food payments. 71.What is your most treasured possession? None of your business. 72.What is your favorite color? The blue of the sky just before sunset. 73.What is your favorite food? Don't really have one, though some of the foods I've seen people eating look abit...weird. 74.What, if anything, do you like to read? Anything about magic really. 75.What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? Nothing really beats a good story. 76.Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? Nope. 77.How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Night by most people's standards or “night†for my schedule? For me “night†is still late afternoon, and night doesn't arrive till nearly midnight. Anyroad I'd probably spend it reading or out swimming if I didn't adjust my schedule to go out during the “normal†night. In that case I'd be doing school work. 78.What makes you laugh? I've always found people getting knocked of their high chocobo rather humorous. 79.What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Lets just say some of the stuff I saw or heard while passing through Ul'dah to Crescent Cove I'd have rather missed. 80.What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? Watch the moon over the ocean. 81.How do you deal with stress? Run though Katas with my old lance. 82.Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? Somewhere in between, I like to have a very rough plan but planning everything is boring and rarely works anyways. 83. What are your pet peeves? People who talk down to me just because I'm fresh out of my tribe and/or a guy. Part7: Self Images And Etc. 84.Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? Wake-up a bell or so before noon, have a quick breakfast at the Bismark before rushing to the Arcanists guild for classes until 5 bells or so in the afternoon when I return to the Bismark for another meal before going outside the gates to practice on some the local pests for a bell or so. Afterwords I go down to the ocean and run though a few katas with my lance to keep my skills sharp and stay in shape. When that’s done I'll take a quick dip to rinse the sweat off and cool down before heading back to my room at the Drowning Wrench to study for tomorrow. Weekends I typically run some simpler levequests for the gil for rent and food during the week and as a more practical way to keep my lance skills sharp. 85.What is your greatest strength as a person? I tend to be stubborn. 86.What is your greatest weakness? I tend to be stubborn and slow to forgive. 87.If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Nothing 88.Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Well I've been told I'm pretty extroverted for a male Keeper, not that I really consider my self such. 89.Are you generally organized or messy? Is organized chaos an option? 90.Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. What Am I good and bad at, well for good I'm decent with a lance, knowing when to bite my tongue, and I'm good enough with conjury that I could as a battlefield medic if I had to. As for what I'm bad at? Well there's Archery, Obeying fools, getting up much before noon. 91. Do you like yourself? Of course I like myeslf. 92.What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) As weird as it might sound its a bit of a family tradition and curse. For the past five generations at least the youngest child has for one reason or another had to go out adventuring. After ten years or so they settled down, then their youngest would heed the call themselves. I'll probably be the last though, as before me the youngest was always a girl. 93.What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? Seeing the next Astral Era, living up to the family name, and maybe figuring out what exactly happened to my dad. 94.Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Closer to finding out more about my dad, and still curious about whats beyond that next hill. 95.If you could choose, how would you want to die? I'd rather not die, but if I had to choose it'd be to save someone I considered a friend. 96.If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. If I had time I'd return to my village say my farewells to my mom and twin, then perform the most awe inspiring feat of magic I could right in the middle of the village square just to see the look on the matriarchs face. 97.What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? Bringing a smile to someones face. 98.What three words best describe your personality? Three words isn't enough to describe someones personality. 99.What three words would others probably use to describe you? Not sure about most people, but my former-matriarch would probably use “terrible disloyal halfbreed†100.If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…) Be true to yourself. RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Sounsyy - 07-29-2013 Show Content
Part 1: The Basics
1. What is your full name? "My name is Sounsyy Mirke." 2. Where and when were you born? "I was born on the Eleventh Sun of the Sixth Astral Moon in the Year 1546." Sounsyy pauses, "And I am a daughter of Ala Mhigo." 3. Who were your parents? "Oh, I- don't normally speak of them. But. My father was a proud Highlander Lancer of Ala Mhigo. His name was Mirke Regarde, but he never allowed me to call him by his name. Dad or Daddy. My mother was a Seeker of the Sun belonging to the Raptor Tribe. But I do not think she ever felt truly at home there. R'nalhie Whayko was my mother's name. I know she fell in love with dad and that is why she left the tribe. He brought her to Ala Mhigo where I was born. Dad would always call mom 'Nalhie' and her name was always followed by a kiss." 4. Do you have any siblings? Sounsyy remained silent for along while. She swallowed hard as if a there were a lump in her throat that she couldn't get down. After many minutes she knew the question could not be dodge so she answered, "Sophie." 5. Where do you live now, and with whom? "Limsa," Sounsyy said, glad to be changing subjects, "I live with my close friend Ceirtette. We moved there after several years of bloody struggle and failing spirits. Ceirtette says the sea breeze makes her forget. I don't know what it does for me. Maybe its peaceful. I sound resentful of the place but I ain't. There've been many fond memories there. Me and Ceirtette and Dasil, her husband. It's only one story though an' just one bed. I sleep in my chair, which suits me just fine. I like sleeping that way now." 6. What is your occupation? "I was a captain, but they're all gone now. It's just me. Me and Ceirtette. So I'm not a captain now." 7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. "Pardon?" Sounsyy takes a moment to examine herself. She feels uncomfortable with the request, but remains compliant. "I'm five fulms even. I blame my mother. I weigh a little above average for my size I guess? I'm not as skinny as I used to be. Um, let's see. I've told you I'm a Seeker of the Sun. I guess I partly am kin to the Raptor Tribe, but Mom didn't name me of the Tribe." "Uhm, my hair?" Sounsyy reaches behind her to run her fingers through her small ponytail. "My hair is naturally this light brown. Looks like dry dirt in the wrong light I think. But when the sun shines through it the hairs turn red and I just can't bring myself to dye it. It's getting a little long, I've been growing it out. I try to keep the bangs pulled up and back, but the breeze does whatever it wants with my hair. Is why I keep most of it in a ponytail most times." "My eyes are a light green if you can't see them. But Ceirtette says they look more blue in the ocean. I think she just imagines my eyes are her color. What else? I have the tribal marks of my kin on my face, three stripes below my eyes. And then my dress and then I will be done with describing myself? I seem to always feel cold. And I feel most comfortable wearing tight clothing. So an alpine jacket and leggings and thighboots. If I am to enter battle, I do it in full plate mail, breastplate over my jacket, cobalt sabatons and gauntlets. In battle there can be no chances." 8. To which social class do you belong? Sounsyy lets a loud fit of laughter escape before catching herself. "I imagine," she says once shes composed herself, "that I am sorted amongst the lowest. I live in a home that is not mine and have gil with which there is nothing worth buying that I could afford. What class is that?" 9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? "Not to my knowledge, no." 10. Are you right- or left-handed? "I wield sword and spear and pen with my right, but I can do any other task as good with my left. What would you call that?" 11. What does your voice sound like? "I... what? Sorry? I don't really know how to answer that. It's my voice. It's not high pitched or anythin, and it's not too low. I guess an in between? Gravelly, booze soaked?" Sounsyy chuckled at the last bit. 12. What words or phrases do you use very frequently? "I don't know. I don't really pay that much attention I guess. Maybe, 'I guess'?" 13. What do you have in your pockets? "I'm sorry, but these leggings don't have pockets," Sounsyy said, sounding a little disappointed by the fact. Perhaps she was just realizing this for the first time. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? "Oh Ceirtette tells me I have so many! I often bite my bottom left side of my lip for some reason. She says I'm always running my hand over my ponytail or rubbing the edge of my ear between my fingers. It annoys her but I barely notice when I'm doing it." Show Content
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? "I... I would say that in my early years I was happy. I was too young to understand that my home was falling apart around me. I grew up a lot that day- the day the Garleans came. I cannot say that my childhood was very happy after that." 16. What is your earliest memory? Sounsyy thought for a moment, opened her mouth to say something, then closed it. She bit her bottom lip, noticed, then said, "I think I was five or six summers. Daddy came home late in the night. He hid his face from me and his hand was caked in blood. Mom rushed him into the other room." 17. How much schooling have you had? "This is embarrassing. I went to an academy in Ala Mhigo until I was ten. After that... I guess there wasn't much time for schooling. I think the closest thing to an education after that was being taught the ways of the sword in the Coliseum. I had always been self sufficient, up to that point. But I would never have survived the Bloodsands on my own. Why am I telling you this?" 18. Did you enjoy school? "I don't really remember school in Ala Mhigo. I'm sure I didn't though. I remember thinking a lot of boys." 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? "I had to teach myself to use Daddy's partisan. I wasn't so much skilled as I was lucky. But luck wasn't enough in the Bloodsands. So I learned to wield spear and blade or fall. Everything I know came from a burning urgency to survive. I often regret never learning an art. Or to be eloquent." 20. Growing up did you have any role models? "I guess I always looked up to Dad. I like to think I am like him." 21. While growing up, how did you get along with other members of your family? "I loved my family very much. That's really all I can say about it." 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? "Um, I don't know. I guess I had always wanted to be a lancer like Daddy." 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? "Beating boys with sticks," Sounsyy laughed loudly. Her face turned a little red as she laughed. "Ceirtette and I used to pretend we were mighty lancers. We would try to spar with sticks twice our size that had washed up along the river. The Highlander boys would come around on occasion and we would chase them off with our 'lances." 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? "I'm sorry. I don't really know how to answer this. I was a child. I acted as a child acts." 25. As a child, were you popular? "I had friends in Ala Mhigo. I was no more awkward than any other child. So I guess so." 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? Sounsyy blushed a little. She could see already where this was heading. "Nathaniel," she said, "he was a foot-soldier with me when the first resistances tried to take back Ala Mhigo. I was twelve. He was... older. And I remember he died not long after. A bullet." 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? "No, I am not," Sounsyy said. Her eyes gazed off into some distant corner. "I was a young girl in an army of men and women who were all just as lonely and desperate as I was. I do not blame them. I encouraged many of them. But I have grown since then." 28. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. "I don't know? I'm just a Miqo'te and I guess everything that comes with that. I can wield a spear as well as most and a sword better than some. It was learn or die. Or let the ones I care about die..." Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider to be the most important event of your life so far? "The day Ala Mhigo fell, I saw my dad die and I took my first life. I can't think of a time that has changed my life more. Everything seems to circle back to that moment." 30. Who has had the most influence on you? "I always wanted to be like Daddy. And I like to think I am like him. But I think Ceirtette has changed my life for the better. She has always been there and I owe her my life. Without her, I would not be here." 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Sounsyy chuckled a little to herself. "Making it this far," she said. 32. What is your greatest regret? "I have... many. But above all, I regret abandoning my sister." 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? "Are you sure you want to know that? I don't think even I wish to acknowledge those things. My answer will be the same as my last." 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? "When I was fifteen summers, I lived among the Ala Mhigan refugees in the Ul'dahn slums and back-alleys. I used to prey on passerby's purses until one day I grew desperate. I tried to steal from one of the Sultansworn. I was caught and imprisoned. It was then I learned a prisoner could buy their freedom on the Bloodsands." 35. When was the last time you were the most frightened? "I am always frightened. It never really leaves me. But I have not panicked since Ceirtette was struck down on the battlefield and I knew there was no help coming. Moments such as those I believe are the most taxing on ones senses. The desperation of being able to do nothing." 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? "I don't get embarrassed often. I guess, I felt embarrassed the first time I slept with a man." 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? "You can't change the past. If I could change the past, who knows where I would be. Would Ceirtette have met Dasil and married? Would it have made me a better person?" 38. What is your best memory? "Watching Ceirtette marry. She was so happy it was as if nothing tragic had ever touched her. It was beautiful to see that. I could not recall a time she had ever been that carefree since we were young children." 39. What is your worst memory? "Mm. Sometimes at night I see my daddy die in my dreams. Most times I remember those painful months spent in Gridania that followed. I do not know which is worse." Part 4: Beliefs and Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? "Basically," Sounsyy says sarcastically, "I like to hope for the best. It's what has kept me going I guess." 41. What is your greatest fear? "I'll be perfectly honest, the sight of large beasts petrifies me." 42. What are your religious views? "I don't know. I guess the Twelve watch over us, but I don't suspect they listen to me." 43. What are your political views? "I don't worry with politics. I know what must be done, and that is all that concerns me." 44. What are your views on sex? Sounsyy rolled her eyes and gave a short exhalation. "This again. It's just something that winds up happening in the night when words become superfluous." 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? "I took my first life at ten summers. At the time I had so many emotions boiling within me that what I had done did not weigh against them. The second kill was harder. Much, much harder. But never have I sunk so low that it was never them or me." 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? "Man does many evil things. But the moment we place them in hierarchy is the moment we allow evil to happen. We are all guilty of it, of course." 47. Do you believe in true love? "No. At least I have not found a love like my parents'." Sounsyy smiled absently, "And if there is a man or woman just for me, they must be one mess." 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? "I count still breathing at the end of the day a success. Perhaps it is not much of a life, but I know not how to plan for higher goals." 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings? "Is it not a little late to ask this?" Sounsyy giggled a little, "I have been more or less outright. I have no inclination as to why. Maybe there are secrets that seek the light. Maybe I'm tired of holding them prisoner." 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? "I have a general distaste for Ul'dah and its people. For obvious reasons." 51. Is there anything you refuse to do under any circumstances? Why? "There are some foods I make a habit of avoiding. Some men too. But no, not generally." 52. Who or what would you die for? "Ceirtette. Ala Mhigo. Sophie... I think the list would be shorter if you asked what I would not risk my life for? But Thal wishes not for my company it would seem." Show Content
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? "I'm not usually so forthcoming with strangers. With men. Let me eat my meal without prying if I come 'ere often or do I really know how to use this sword on my hip." Sounsyy takes a minute to collect her thoughts, "I guess I don't make friends easy anymore. I try to keep the ones I do got." 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? "Ceirtette. She's put up with me all her life. I don't think I could really find another who'd want that job." 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? "Before the Calamity, I had a Commander, Iyrnlahz Sylbahctsyn, who stuck his neck out for me, a common foot soldier. He talked to me like one person does to another, even before handing me rank. I respect that in a leader." 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. Sounsyy smiles, "I've had a few over the years. Ceirtette has always been there. Dasil, Margot, Himalanka, Koenybrael, J'oraab. Most of them are gone now though." 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. "I've never given any thought to marriage in a long time. I don't think I'd make good 'wife' material." 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. "I guess so? I'm not sure it could count. I guess I felt for Nathaniel. Maybe because he was my first?" 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? "Hmph, I'm not looking for anyone. I lost that desire before the Calamity." 60. How close are you to your family? "Considering. Not close at all." 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? Sounsyy smiles absently, her eyes becoming a little watery. "I would've liked to have had children. In a better world. I would have liked for my children to play in the fields of Gyr Abania where I played. I would have liked to raise my children in peace. But such dreams are far from fruition and I'm past my prime." 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? "Whatever friend is by my side. I trust them, or they are not my friends." 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? "Likewise, my friends are there for me. My person to my right shields me, as I shield them." 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? "Hehe, I think most'd be relieved Thal finally took me home. I may be a grizzly veteran, but I've got years still to come. Gods help me." 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? "He's long dead. He lost his head, so to speak. And I won't dignify his ever having existed any longer." 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? "I guess I'm a bit fiery tempered. I don't let others tread across me just for!" 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Sounsyy laughs, "That's what a Captain does. That's why they gave me this rank, because I was doing the job anyways." 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? She shrugs and runs her hands through her hair. "They're whatever. Easier to manage if anything." 69. Do you care what others think of you? Sounsyy hand has started playing with the tip of her left ear. She has yet to realize she's doing this. "I'm sure people think many things. About me, I could really care less. Insult Ala Mhigans or my home. Yer asking fer trouble." Show Content

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Sounsyy laughs. "Is drinking considered a hobby? I'm pretty religious about it. I like walking the fields near Lominsan beaches, I guess. They have gorgeous flowers. I'll pick a handful to bring home." 71. What is your most treasured possession? "My daddy's partisan. It's really my only possession that's survived the years. And I gave that to Ceirtette. She could take better care of it than me. Besides, she loved him as much as me." 72. What is your favorite color? "Um... I don't really think about colors often. Blue, I think. Like the sky or the ocean froth." 73. What is your favorite food? "Oh! There's a dish made on Armada vessels from the assorted haul of the day. It's called bouillabaisse. It's to die for! I can't believe I'm so excited over food. But I guess with all these questions..." 74. What, if anything, do you like to read? "I'm not the strongest reader. Character one, L'ohke Tia's answers! Show Content
Part 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name? "L'ohke Tia, although it tend to sound like Loke, or Luke when I'm adressed by people outside the tribe." 2.Where and when were you born? "I..." A look of confusion as he thinks, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "My age doesn't really matter. Put down 'somewhere in the twenties'. As for where, I hail from the Sagolii Desert." 3.Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) "My father were the tribe Nunh for a while, obvisouly. He left when he was defeated...I think I was around six or seven cycles then. His name was L'ahru Nunh, well, Tia now I suppose. I have not seen nor heard from him since." He smiles easily, not looking bothered by the absense of his sire. "My mother is L'liah Tham. She is one of the finest hunters in our tribe but I have not seen her in years. Her tongue cuts as sharp as her sword and most are wise not to antogonize her." 4.Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? He gives an amused smile, lips quirks upward in a grin. " A bit to many to count I think. But for siblings who share both my sire and my mother, I have two. L'hela, is two cycles older than me and left the tribe long before me. She was headed for Limsa Lominsa then, because she wished to see the sea. I...wonder what become of her." His smiles dies and a frown mars his face before he shakes his head. "My younger brother, L'thol still ran with the tribe the last time I saw him. His training were going well. Perhaps he will have become the new Nunh when I return." 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. "Residence?" His ears flick restlessly and he shakes his head quickly. "No no, I have no such thing. As long as Momodi, and Baderon and Mother Mionne allows it, their inns are my home, as is the open sky of whichever road I happen to travel." His face stretch into a soft smile. "I never...quite took to settling down in one place." 6.What is your occupation? "Tricky. 'Adventurer' might be the most fitting description but not a complete one. Traveling constantly make it hard to keep work but I know how to fish and work with simple alchemy. Occasionally, I take on a few students for the Pugilist Guild when I stay in Ul'dah. It's good coin and I always liked teaching the younger kits how to fight." Frustrated, he huffs and raises his shoulders in a gentle shrug. "I suppose I am skilled at much, but master only a few things." 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. "Hm, well. I am short for a Sunseeker male, and my hair is black and kept at a tolerable length. My eyes are white." A finger trace the scar by his mouth. "My first meeting with the city gave me this, as I accidentially angered a rather big merchant." His hand moves to touch the scar by his cheek. "This is far less interesting, a brazen and rash game sent me and a friend tumbling into a nest of chocobo chicks." He then gestures to his clothes, which are nothing but sandals, a short pair of pants and a very thin shirt. "While my armor has become my most used outfit, the heat in Ul'dah demands something less stifling." 8.To which social class do you belong? Puzzlement covers his face and he pause for a bit before he answers. "I'm..not sure I understand the question. I have enough coin to live off, and I do not starve." 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? "Not that I am aware off. I hope I'll not discover anything." 10. Are you right- or left-handed? "I can use both. But if you ask me which hand I use for writing," a low chuckle vibrates in his throat. "I can't really write you know." 11. What does your voice sound like? That's a strange question. I have been told to hold off the singing though, so I'll let you decide for yourself. 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? "I really have no idea. I talk a whole lot, so there's words, all the time." 13. What do you have in your pockets? Blinks slowly and stands up, beginning to pick various things out of his pockets. Items like a scruffy pair of silver ear rings, a few gil coins, various nuts of all kinds, and a few carefully wrapped leaves are put down on the table. "Less than I thought, actually." Grins and reach out for a nut, eating it. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? "I...do dressing down in the heat count? I don't see how others stand the amount of layers they wear in the heat. No? I suppose I am a bit of a hoarder. Throwing things away can be difficult, even when it is done serving it's use. And I've been told I tend to lisp if I get excited." Show Content
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? "I remember being happy, for the most part. Life was a challenge in the tribe but the children were always cared for well, by the tribe as a whole. My many misadventures gave them far more trouble than they gave me." 16. What is your earliest memory? "Play-fighting with a friend and ending up taking a tumble into a pool of water. It taught us, well, her, to look before we choose our play grounds next time." "Took me a bit longer to learn, actually." 17. How much schooling have you had? "I've been taught where to find food and water, and several ways in which you can end something's life with your bare hands. What else I know, I have picked up from people during my travels." 18. Did you enjoy school? "Had I gone to one, I think I would have hated it. As it was, they had enough trouble getting me to pay attention when I was taught things I wanted to learn." 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? "By my mother, even though she nearly had to tie me down just to make sure I wouldn't lop my own arm off just to make sure I was somewhat proficient with a sword. What little I know of magic has been completely accidental and self-taught as of yet. And it's not as if I'm done learning new skills just yet, either." 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. "Oh, several of the huntresses and the guards were people I looked up too and took note off. But, there was one man that caught my interest, long ago. He had happened upon our tribe by chance and had asked for some rest and items to trade. He traded stories of his journey for a bit of food and water and although none of the kids were allowed to listen, I snuck as close as I dared, in hopes to hear something. I'd imagined stories of his victories and success but what I heard, were how warmly he spoke of his comrades, of the places he had visited and the strange creatures he had seen. He never boasted, but spoke of his life and journey with such love and joy that it changed my life." 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? "Well enough. A tribe stick together and protect each other and I never had trouble with anyone. I was perhaps closer with my sister than my brother, as we were both dreamers." 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? "I suppose I wanted to be Nunh at some point. Most do. Now, I would happily forsake that if I can just live the way I want to live." 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? "Hah! Getting into all sorts of trouble, usually the dangerous kind were older and more skilled people would have to help me out. " 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? "I was curious but I still am. I suppose I was a bit michevious and a troublemaker. Which...isn't far from how I am today." 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? "Popular? I got along with people well enough. We hunted, fought, and were taught together, most of the time. " 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? His face lits up in confusion "Well, I AM a Tia and I've yet to see any reason to break tradition. So. No one, yet. And not seeing one in the near future either." A short pause as he fidgets. "Ah, no nothing. Move on please." 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? "Previous answer will have covered this as well." 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. "Alot of things. The stranger that spent time with us made me travel the world. Someone I thought was my friend made me realize my own ignorance and naivety. And the Calamity...the Calamity taught me how to pick myself up and put all the pieces back together, to go on, and make a change." Show Content
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? "Getting punched in the face as soon as I set foot in Ul'dah. Believe it or not but it was exactly the thing I needed to realize the world has all kinds of people...and my first lesson in cultural differences and soothing tempers." 30. Who has had the most influence on you? "That would be my mother. Sharp as her tongue was, she loved her children dearly and did her best to install some sense of survival in us all...especially when she realized what 'silly fancies' had taken my sister and myself." 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? "I ain't that great, so I'm not sure what I'd even answer here. The first time I brought home a kill? Watching one of my Pugilist pupils succeed?" 32. What is your greatest regret? "Stayin' away for so long. I mean, things weren't the same after the Calamity. I wasn't. I don't know how to go back right now." 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? "Evil? Uh..I don't think I've done anything evil, see. I might have trespassed and fished a fish outta someone's private pool with his prized pet fish collection but that was ignorance, not malice. Not to say I have never taken another's life, but it has always been in defence of myself or others." 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? "A record's for if you get caught. But nah, haven't yet had to deal with anything like that. Pray I'll never have too." 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? "Must have been when the old man lost his title. Never knewn him well but he was my sire and I didn't fancy seeing him die. L'hela adored him and her fear kind of transferred to me. He managed to survive but I'm not sure he was very happy about that. " 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? "I...can we not discuss that?". He blushes furiously, wiping a hand over his face. "I...told someone I cared about how I felt. It did not go well. That's all you're getting." 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? "I...A bit to many things, honestly. I've made mistakes, and I've got my regrets. Naming one...no, I can't do that." 38. What is your best memory? "I don't remember. Sounds wierd, I know but part of my memory's a bit jumbled. I mainly remember the feelings, being happy, content... but that's it." 39. What is your worst memory? "So far? Seeing my younger brother nearly die due to my own stupidity. I'd brought him with me when I explored and we'd accidentally stumbled on a group of beastmen." There is a heavy silence and he swallows, sipping on his water before he continues. "We both lived, but it was pure dumb luck. Knowing it was my fault...yeah. Still my worst memory." Show Content
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? "Somewhere between a realist and an optimist. I like thinking things are going to work out, ya know?" 41. What is your greatest fear? "That's tricky. Dyin' don't really worry me much. I think...losing my hope, like I did after the Calamity...I'd rather not experience that again." 42. What are your religious views? "Mayhaps the gods exist, mayhaps they don't. I don't mind them much, other than taking care when I visit the Ossuary." 43. What are your political views? "Hmph. A nation should excist for it's people, and work to keep it's people safe and happy. Other than that though, most of those subtle happenings are way over my head." 44. What are your views on sex? "Haven't given it much thought. If I keep followin' tradition though, I hardly need to worry about it." 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? "I don't kill for coin. Self-defense? Yes. In defense of others, absolutely. I maintain that most people deserve a second chance, a chance to see the error of their ways, so if I can avoid it, I will not strike a finishing blow." 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? "Bending others to their will by force. Taking away one's freedom, be it physical or psychological. Killing and harming the innocent and defenseless." 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? "I'd like to believe in it. The world has showed me countless things I didn't believe in so far, why not this?" 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? "Happiness. Excitement. Conflict. Meeting every day as a new challenge, a new adventure. " 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? "I have become more guarded when dealing with people, but I never try to hide my true self. I have my secrets, sure, but they're hardly things that will hurt others." 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? "Probably." Sighs softly, picking at the hem off his shirt. "I'm usually friendly and like people but I sometimes have a hard time dealing with other tribes. I'm..working on that however." 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? "Kill for mere coin. Harm innocents. Draw my weapon on an unarmed opponent. I have no reason to do so." 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? "My family. It sounds wierd, since I havent seen them in awhile, but I would gladly give my life if I could secure their safety somehow." Show Content
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? "It depends! I never stay overly polite to someone throwing insults after all!" Taps his cheek with a finger. "I try not to be rude when it's uncalled for. But I'll not stand for insults." 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? A wistful look and a short shake off his head. "I don't have one, not anymore. Once..no matter. It's all in the past." He waves his hand in a dismissive gesture. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? A long pause, as he considers the question. "The Sultana. Despite having to deal with the Syndicate and their opposition, she never stop trying to do what is best for her people. In a leader, that's an admirable quality." 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. "I..had. Most fell during the battle and the rest...." His eyes squint together, his ears flat to his head. "I have a cousin in Limsa Lominsa, Rh'anyu Knightfall. Makes his living as some kind of entertainer. If I need someone to listen to my troubles, I seek him out." 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. "No." 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. "I was once but..I think I'm more in love with the idea of exploring the world, than an actual person. At least now." 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? "I'm not looking for one." 60. How close are you to your family? "T'was close to them once. It's about time I got my tail over there to visit but....for some reason, I'm apprehensive about meeting them again." 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? "Even if I were to break tradition, I'd not be a good mate. Or husband. I can't stay in one place for too long." 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? "My cousin ain't fit to fight, so I'd never bother him if that was the kind of trouble I was in. Everything else tho, it'd be him. Guy's rather clever, unlike me." 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? "I usually travel alone, so no, not really. Even when in company of others, I tend to be wary and alert. Not because of them, course, but living out in a desert were most everything want to gut you and eat your innards, you learn to watch your step. Eventually." 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? "...Uh. Can we...can we just skip this one?" 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? "Not speaking off them." His face hardens and his voice drops. "They should hope I don't meet them again, ever, that's all I'm going to say." 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? "Tch. No. I tend to stay out of arguments. I don't fight well with words." 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? "If I have too. I don't like leading a group of people, knowing my knack of getting myself into trouble." 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? "I don't give speeches and the like but co-operating with people? No problem with it." 69. Do you care what others think of you? "No. Others will form their opinion on me, regardless of what I want. I try to live by my own morals and if people don't like that, why should I care?" Show Content
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? "I like grabbing a tankard of ale at the local watering hole, listening to the buzz of people around me. "Gonna say blue, if I have to pick somethin'. " 73. What is your favorite food? "I eat everythin'. Fond of fish though, which is good as I spend alot of time just fishin' up dinner. And Dodo meat." Opens his mouth, about to go off on another tangent about food. "Sorry. I could speak forever about good food. Now, if I could just befriend a real good chef..." 74. What, if anything, do you like to read? "Can't read much, only very simple things. I'm workin' on it but it's slow- and I hardly have anyone to teach me at the moment." 75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? "Games of cards, good music. A bard that can whip up amazing stories, true or not." Stretches and grins lazily. 76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? "Aye, I drink. When I have the coin and don't have any work to do." Raises his hand to his mouth and looks a bit flustered for a moment. "I happen to be a light weight when it comes to the strongest brews, an' I suspect Momodi's been watering down my ale when I order at the Quicksand. There...there was an incident." 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? "I don't think I can answer that....most of my days tend to be very different, depending on where I am." 78. What makes you laugh? "Much. I tend to laugh easily." 79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? "I happen to be easily surprised by things. As for being offended.... people who assume things about me and my tribe in the worst possible way bother me. Even with cultural differences, it's hardly as bad as some make it out to be." 80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? "Huh. I've never had trouble sleeping but I guess I'd meditate or do a bit of light training." 81. How do you deal with stress? "I've found that sparring, or otherwise occupying myself with various forms of physical exercise work for me." 82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? "...I don't think I've ever planned a thing in my life." 83. What are your pet peeves? "People who don't make an effort to clean up a campsite when they leave. It's really annoying." Show Content
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? "Haven't had any form of rutine since childhood. So, I'm more worried of growing into a routine, to be honest." 85. What is your greatest strength as a person? "Does being able to keep my tongue count?" A wry smile. 86. What is your greatest weakness? "I tend to rush into things without thinking...which is never a good thing." 87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? "Maybe being smarter? I don't know. I'm not unhappy with myself." 88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? "I tend to switch between the two. It depends alot on the company." 89. Are you generally organized or messy? "I'm good at organized messes! I know where all my things are, at any time. And, I make sure to clean up after myself, even if my belongings are a mess." 90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. "I suppose I'm good at punching thing in the face. And passing that skill on. And I guess I can be a rather decent Thaumaturge, if I manage to concentrate." His tails swishes back and forth a few times as he thinks. "I'm bad at planning. And using a sword. And anything involving reading and writing." 91. Do you like yourself? "Sure. What would I do if I didn't like myself? I got faults, yeah, but disliking who I am ain't going to help me sort those faults out. And besides, who wants to be perfect?" 92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…) "I...both. The traveling adventurer is my main reason for doing this but it isn't the only reason. I..fell in love with the wrong person in my tribe and I decided it was better I leave, before I caused trouble or myself pain. I'd..rather appriciate if that wasn't printed." 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? "Goal? I haven't really thought that far...I want to hone my skills and when I can't get any better, and I want to learn new things. That's all." 94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? "In Costa Del Sol, sprawled on the beach." Cheeky grin. "Heat might be easier to bear by the sea." 95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? "In battle, giving my life to take out someone to protect someone else. I can't think of a better way to go." 96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Chews on his tongue, tapping his fingers on the table. "Another tricky one. Get another drink. Visit my family. The last one would be private, thanks." 97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? "All this talk about death." He sighs. "Remembered for? Hopefully being someone people could depend on, to trust." 98. What three words best describe your personality? "Inquiring, maybe. Headstrong. Loyal." 99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? "Heh. Rash. Curious. Trouble-magnet. Just a hunch." 100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…) Grow up, start taking some responsibility for the things you do but don't forget to do what makes you happy. "My childhood in general? While I had plenty of time to be a kid, I had my share of hardship. We all do, though. Don't we? I try to think about the future, more than my past, for good reasons." 16. What is your earliest memory? Jumping on top of my uncle's stomach. 17. How much schooling have you had? "Schooling? The same as everyone else I suppose. Book smarts, my mother taught me.. But out in the real world, I had to learn from my Uncle, and what he couldn't teach me I was left to find out on my own." 18. Did you enjoy school? "The education my mother gave me was one of the few times that she had time to spend with just me, I enjoyed it. To this day it remains a special memory." 19. "I got along with my younger sister; my brother was becoming a soldier. He was seven years older than myself… too busy to fight with, and too busy to grow close to. I still looked up to him, though, for his ambition and courage. We were family, and loved each other as family, but I suppose I wish I could have had more time to actually spend together, all of us, as a family. My father was rarely ever around, and raising two kids by yourself isn't the easiest thing for a mother. She is lucky my Uncle was around as often as he was.†22. As child, what did you want to be when you grew up? "A Bard, like my Uncle." 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? "I've always loved chasing storms, and running through the outdoors. I find that one of the most exciting experiences is to find those ‘hidden gems’ nested far from the common paths. Like those beautiful waterfalls or groves you hear about in tales." 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? "I cried a lot when I was a kid. I guess I was pretty needy. My family had its share of trials, that's for sure, but I didn't like that my father was rarely around, and my mother had most of the house hold weight on her shoulders. I felt very much so a burden. I still wonder why my Uncle always said I reminded him of himself when he was younger."  25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? "Popular? Well, there weren't a lot of people around where I grew up. The nearest town was a day away." 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? "My first kiss? I was seventeen; a trader was passing through nearby and had a daughter. They ended up staying for a few days. Never thought my first kiss would be with a Miqo'te. That sure is a story to tell." The Basics
1.What is your full name? Sehn Garanjy 2.Where and when were you born? I was born on the road in La Noscea, not really near any one place in particular, nineteen years ago. 3.Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) Tahna Garanjy, my mother, and Nari'ir Epocan, my father. They are both wandering traders and mercenaries. My father is a kind and gentle soul, and my mother is headstrong and hard working. 4.Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I have one younger brother, Tahna'li. He is only six, and very shy. I had two older brothers, Tahna'a and Tahna'to, but they died on a hunting trip several years ago... I also have a hyur friend who I have known since I was young, Alice. She is like a sister to me. 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I travel the roads on my own now, though I often meet up with my family, or travel with friends. Sometimes I stop in the city to visit Alice. 6.What is your occupation? I do odd jobs, mostly. Hunting, mercenary work, trading when I find goods that are worth something. 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. What, do you not have eyes? Ugh, fine. As you can see, I am a Miqo'te female. My skin is pale, my hair is violet, and my eyes are grayish purple. I am about average height and weight, I suppose. I often paint my face to honor Menphina. As far as clothes, I like comfortable, lightweight things that I can move easily in. Though, er, I do enjoy being fashionable, if I can... 8.To which social class do you belong? Er... I am not sure. I do not have much in the way of money, but I hesitate to call myself lower class... 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I'm rather sensitive to bright light, but I'm trying to get used to it. 10. Are you right- or left-handed? Ambidextrous. 11. What does your voice sound like? Can't you hear me? I... Have a rather normal voice, I suppose. Perhaps I sound a bit rough and crude at times... 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? ... Do profanities count? 13. What do you have in your pockets? Let's see... A handful of coins, some twine, a bag of powdered glass for emergencies, bits of fluff, a stale biscuit... Huh, I don't remember getting this ring, but it's here too. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Well apparently SOME PEOPLE think it is odd to keep powdered glass on one's person at all times, but I think it is perfectly sensible. Someone demands your bag, you throw it in their eyes and while they're screaming you punch them in the throat. I don't know why some people think that's weird. Also I keep some sort of food on me at all times. Because you never know when you will need food. Show Content
Growing Up15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
I had a happy childhood, I think. I grew up on the road with my family, going many places and seeing many things. 16. What is your earliest memory? My older brothers teaching me how to throw a proper punch. 17. How much schooling have you had? I have not had anything in the way of formal schooling, though my parents taught me to read and write and add my numbers. 18. Did you enjoy school? Actually I thought my lessons were incredibly boring and dreaded them. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? From my parents or brothers, or figuring it out on my own. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. My mother, of course. She leads us. I looked up to my brothers very much, too... I also long to be like the heroes in the stories, as silly as that may sound. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I've always gotten along well with my family, though Tahna'li can be a handful at times... 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be an adventurer. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Hunting with my brothers and mother or preparing meals with my father. Playing with Alice was quite fun too. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I have always been headstrong and straightforward, though some would say blunt. I was a fast learner, apparently, at least when it came to fighting. I never had much patience for academic things. When we met up with other traveling Miqo'te, I often would get into play fights with the other children. And I've always had an unquenchable thirst for stories... 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? We never really stayed in one place long enough for me to become popular with other children, but I suppose I was well-liked enough. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss? The first person I kissed was a boy by the name of Kyah'sae. I was ten and he was eleven. Our families had been traveling as a group for a few months, and I had decided that I liked him. I pinned him down and kissed him on the mouth... I think I frightened him, though. 27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? That's not really any of your business, but no, I'm not. It was a couple years ago, a little while after I set out on my own. I was traveling with some other young people of various races. Among them was a Seeker of the Sun named A'jihn. It was a cold night, and we got it into our heads that we ought to keep each other warm. It was a terrible, terrible idea. We were both even colder by the end of it, and sweaty to boot. 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. What's a human? I'm a Miqo'te. I live my life like any other Keeper of the Moon. Show Content
Past Influences29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
There have been many important events in my life so far, I think. Saving Alice from an angry drake and befriending her, helping deliver Tahna'li... The deaths of my older brothers... I cannot pick just one event. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? My mother has influenced me much, as well as my older brothers. They are the ones who taught me to fight, and not to be afraid. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? I scared off a full grown drake when I was thirteen. It had Alice up a tree. 32. What is your greatest regret? Not helping my brothers fight those monsters... 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? Well... I suppose the powdered glass thing is rather cruel... 34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? I steal a COUPLE OF BAUBLES a FEW TIMES and suddenly everyone thinks I'm a criminal... 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? When my older brothers and I got attacked by monsters on a hunting trip. I climbed up a tree. I was so afraid I couldn't even fight them... 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? That whole virginity thing was rather embarrassing. There was also the time Tahna'to told me that if I ate too many gysahl greens I would turn into a chocobo... 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? That is easy. I would prevent the deaths of my brothers. 38. What is your best memory? My first hunt, with my mother and brothers. We brought down the biggest buffalo I'd ever seen together... 39. What is your worst memory? How many times do I have to bring up the deaths of my brothers before you stop asking? Show Content
Beliefs and Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? A mix of both, I think. I try to be realistic about things, but I do want to see the good in everyone. 41. What is your greatest fear? Losing someone else I care about. Going hungry isn't much fun either. 42. What are your religious views? I follow the goddess Menphina. 43. What are your political views? Never had much of a head for politics. Don't really care that much. 44. What are your views on sex? Uh... Yes please? Though you really shouldn't breed unless you're prepared to raise the child. 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? What kind of question is that? I fight monsters, of course I'm able to kill. How do you think I get my dinner? Killing someone who is defenseless is pretty unforgivable, though. 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? I have no idea what a human is, but the worst thing a person could do? Hm... Killing a child, I guess. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? Not really. "True love" implies that there's false love, too, which I don't really buy. If you love someone, that's true enough. I don't know if there's one specific person you're meant to be with, either. Though I suppose I'm biased, I haven't met anyone I thought was my soul mate. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Having a big family and plenty to eat. 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I am a bit too honest at times. I say what I think, even if it might not be the best time for such... 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Well, I don't really understand this whole nobility thing. It seems pretty stupid to me. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Well I won't kill a child because that's a monstrous thing to do. Attacking anyone who is defenseless is pretty despicable to me... Also, if someone needs help, I need to have a VERY good reason to ignore them. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? To protect my family. Show Content
Relationships with Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? Well I think I treat people rather decently, though I've been told I can come off as rude... If I don't think you know what you're talking about, you will get no respect from me. 54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? There are many important people in my life. My mother, my father, my little brother, and Alice come to mind. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? I respect my mother greatly. She was very young when she set out on her own, and she has helped many people. When Tahna'a and Tahna'to died, I can't imagine the pain she must have felt, and yet she was still able to comfort me... 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. My best friend is probably Alice. She is a hyur, and a spellcaster. She worries about the silliest things, and she can be rather helpless at times, but she is loyal, and brave in her own way. I try to keep an eye on her when I can. 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Nope. Single, and not really looking. Though I wouldn't turn down a tumble. 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. I was pretty moon-eyed about Kyah'Sae and A'jihn, though I'm not sure if you would call that love. 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Someone strong, who can take care of themselves and, more importantly, take a joke. 60. How close are you to your family? I am very close to my family. 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? I would very much like to start my own family one day, yes. Though not for a long while, I am still very young. 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? My parents or Alice, most likely. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? It's... not that I don't trust anyone to protect me, I just don't want anybody to need to. If I had to pick someone to watch me while I sleep or something I guess I would choose Alice. 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? My parents would. I imagine it would break my mother's heart. Nobody should have to bury their child, let alone three of them... Alice would be rather upset too, I think. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? I'm not sure if I despise anyone. I dislike sentient beasts that attack people, though. For obvious reasons... 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I speak my mind, and don't see any reason to back down from conflict. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? I don't really care one way or the other, honestly. I don't like being bossed around, and I'm not sure if I'm the right kind of person to boss anyone else around. 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Not particularly. I don't mind crowds, it's just easier when you're talking to a smaller group of people. 69. Do you care what others think of you? Of course not! (yes she does, very much) Show Content

My hair is white, I tell everyone that my mother scared the blonde out of it. My tattoo on the side of my face was a drunken accident. But I think it came out pretty good, since it matches my hair color. Oh, and my eyes are purple. Not going to tell you how I pulled that off. 8.Family is upper middle class, but im dirt poor. 9.Clean bill of health so far 10.Used to be ambidexterous, over the years, became primarily right handed. 11.I don't listen to myself speak. I listen to you. 12."I'm gonna be great one day" "This round's on me" 13.A few coins, a job flyer, and a piece of bread from a few days ago. I forgot about that, i'll save that for lunch. 14.I like to watch things from the background, I'm not really one to go out to talk to others. Unless we're at the pub, then we're friends, period. 15.Boring. My brother was always getting praise from my mother for being so strong. So much so you could time it like the sun. My sister would always try to get me to her chores while she snuck out to "hunt". Hunt for men more like it. I didn't really do much, except hear about great adventures that my family was planning or went on. They got my blood pumping, that's for sure! 16. I remember my brother accidently lighting the house on fire. It was the only time i've seen him so scared, I was around 4. 17. My father didn't trust any public schooling, so I was taught from home. I learned the way of numbers and literature through him, then nothing but physical training and survival skills from my mom. I don't want to remember the family "camping trips" the only one who seemed to  have fun was mom. You ever have to fight a chocobo with your bare hands for a piece of meat? Well I hope you never have to. 18. It had its ups and downs, but I wouldn't be where I am today if I gave up. 19. Father and Mother. 20. There was a story that my dad told me about a man who slayed a hundred dragons. He never used any single weapon. The world was his arsenal. I looked up to that man. He was probably fictional, but hey, I want to be resourcefull just like that. 21. My brother and I were never really that close. My guess was the age difference. My sister was always doing her own thing but every once in a while we would talk about her life and her "hunting partners". My dad loves me, there's no doubt in that, he's very affectionate. Sometimes too affectionate. I don't need to hear how wonderful a son I am every second. My mother....she's tough. Very tough...but..I like that. I feel that if I can keep up with her aggressive training and honor, then I can someone great too! 22. A dragon Slayer 23. I loved swimming. Something about being in the ocean feels great. It's dangerous and relaxing! 24. Loud, hyper, stubborn. I would like to think i'm past that, but when I drink my buddies say i'm exactly that; Loud, hyper, and stubborn. 25. I was friends with a few kids that lived nearbye. One miqo'te boy, and an Elezen girl.I can't remember their names for the life of me.Anywho,  We had fun, pretending to go on adventures. It was always the three of us, from when I was 12 to 16. That's when the Elezen girl left with her family and the Miqo'te boy never got over it then soon left to find her. 26. None of your business 27. None. of. your. business. 28. I feel like i was greatly influenced by my family. I was born when my siblings were already learning much about the world. I always wanted to catch up. That mixed with my mom's crazy way of making us "stronger because the world devours the weak", I think i have many "influences". 29. Moving out. I shouldn't have done it. I'm so broke it hurts....seriously im getting hungry. Wait...where did that piece of bread go...? 30. I have the most influence over me, don't let any of the guys at the pub tell you differently 31. I moved out, and my mother hasn't killed me. I win. 32. I moved out, seeing a pattern yet? 33. Evil is a state of mind. I've only done evil if I believe there's good. 34. Almost. But the guard was too drunk to remember my face! 35.Chocobo. Hungry. Me. Hungry. Meat between us. 36. Besides this interview? I had a phase when I was younger where I wished I was a Lalafell. That's all im going to say on that. 37.Moving out without a plan 38. Splitting the meat with the chocobo without my mother finding out. 39. My sister seeing the whole thing happening then telling my mother a few days later. I hate camping... 40. I think im an optimist, because if im not, im just stupid. 41. Never amounting to anything. 42. until I see a god, i'll believe that Eorzean's will make up anything to push an agenda. 43. Politics are for the wealthy. 44. Depends where i'm watching from. 45. I'd rather not say too much on this subject, some people get very queesy over this. I've been doing odd jobs for 6 years now. Some jobs are dirtier than others. 46. Flip flop on their own ideals 47. Yes 48. Im trying to figure that out myself. 49.Once again, ask those at the pub, im too afraid to. 50. I'd never trust a Lalafell at a casino. 51. Are you coming onto me? 52. My ideals. 53.I treat them how they treat me. Fair and simple. 54.At the moment, me. Because if i don't take care of number 1, i'll wind up dead somewhere. 55. It's somewhere between my father and mother. My mom is a warrior with great moral and physical strength. My father is a man who can perservere in the worst of conditions. He was deemed weak by other highlanders, but ended up making a life for him and his family better off than many others I know. 56. Not so much anymore, just a few people I see at some pubs I frequent. 57. Nope 58. I don't kiss and tell...sober. 59. I don't look. 60. I saw them a few years back on accident. I now call home every month since now they know im not dead. 61. Nope 62. My sister. She owes me one. 63. The only person who can protect you, is you. 64. My family. Maybe not my brother, but i'd hope he would 65. No one. Despising someone is a waste of time. 66. Let's just say I wake up with more bruises than I remember getting that day from work. 67. Not at all 68. Not a fan...unless it's happy hour. 69. I care what I think of me. 70. Drinking, brawling, and swimming 71. My tattoo. I spent way too much on it than I intended. It better not get messed up. 72. Purple 73. Shrimp 74. Job offers 75. A night out with some good folks 76. I drink when im thirsty. I smoke when im drunk. Do I want to quit? NO! It's way too much fun *sings this* 77. What day is it today? 78. Things I find to be funny 79. Idiots, weaklings, idiots who are weak. 80. I'm taking up this interview, aren't I? By the way, I was told there was a free meal involved... 81. Spend time at the pub 82. A plan can save your life, being spontaneous can keep you that way. 83. flip flopping on your own ideals. 84. Wake up, look for work, Do some work, get paid, chase down guy who didn't pay me, end up with fraction of paycheck, drink. 85. No matter what, I will persevere. 86. I'm broke! *whines* 87. That I'm rich. 88. introverted, I need alone time. 89. Depends on what it is. I'm good at organizing jobs, i'm terrible of organizing money. 90. I'm good at drinking, brawling, and Hunting down jobs. I'm terrible with money, drinking responsibly, and allowing myself to be at one place for too long. 91. What isn't there to like? I'm going to be great someday. 92. I want to become great! Just like my mother and my brother! ( The truth is, i'm weak. I need to become stronger, not for anyone else but for me. I do not like being second best. Ever since I was little all i've ever wanted to do was win with my own strength.) 93.To have my name sung through all the taverns and pubs of Eorzea! 94.Doing the same thing im doing today, just better. 95. Against an opponent stronger than me. 96. See family, Say goodbye to all I know, become great. 97. For my Strength 98. Drunk, ambitious, carefree 99. Drunk, poor, hoodlum. 100. You're greatness is within you, staring you at the face, you just need to stop chasing after something so abstract and take what's rightfully yours. RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Ironpriest88 - 08-03-2013 A small bottle lays in the dirt near the gently flowing river. Even from a distance you can tell that there is a stack of rolled up papers inside. The bottle is half buried in the dirt, but the half that is visible shines and glints with the sun, as if teasing you and enticing you to open it and read the contents within. Will you open and read what's inside? Or will you leave the bottle in the dirt, to be forgotten? Show Content
Open the BottleYou reach for the bottle, dusting off the dirt that came with it. As you try to open the bottle, you realize that it is attached rather firmly. After a brief struggle you manage to uncork the bottle and pull out the sheaths of paper hidden within. As you look at the papers you realize that they contain answers to a sort of survey. Who wrote the survey and who answered? The only way to find out is to read the papers and find out.

The BasicsPart 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name? A’Kuri Kota 2.Where and when were you born? 1[sup]st [/sup]Umbral Moon, 14[sup]th[/sup] day, Mephina the Lover, guardian diety 3.Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) Father: No idea who he is! See Mother’s explanation to see why! Mother:  Ohki Rushtala; a Keeper of the moon Miqo’te and practicer of thaumaturgy. She was a beautiful Miqo’te who could charm a man with just a glance. She used her beauty to leave her small clan and become a “servicer†of men that traveled through the realm.  While in her travels she became pregnant, not knowing who the father was. Despite this she  continued her work and her travels. As she her term neared its end she decided that her next stop would be her last and that she would attempt to settle down to raise her child. However while traveling between towns she went into labor. As luck would have it a group of Seekers of the Sun happened upon her, among them was their clans current Nunh, A’Bhen Nunh. Despite going into labor she begged them for sanctum, at least until she and her child could travel. The Nunh agreed despite protests from his tribe. Once the child was born, the Nunh alone helped Ohki in getting her strength back, and providing for them. Some of the tribe members thought she bewitched the Nunh into helping her for they at times caught her working spells at night. However this was not the case, the Nunh considered Ohki an invaluable source of wisdom for a female, since she had traveled so much. She befriended A’Bhen, but did and would not pledge herself to the tribe, thus forever labeling her an outsider. As the years went by Ohki grew older but still maintained both her beauty and her relation to the Nunh. She was something that was envied by the other females and desired by the males. One day a challenger came forward and fought A’Bhen for the spot of Nunh but the challenger lost. The Nunh decided to spare the young Tia from death but still banish him from the clan. The Tia, disgraced went to Ohki and asked her to run away with him to start a new clan, promising her that she would not be an outcast with him. Ohki refused the outlandish request and in a rage the Tia struck her down with a fatal blow. By this time A’Kuri who was already 10 years of age, bore witness to this act of violence. In her final moments before death Ohki was able to return the act of violence and engulfed the Tia in flames. When A’Bhen heard the commotion he saw a crying A’Kuri in front of a burning hut. Ignoring his clans attempts to stop him, he ran into the hut and carried Ohki’s body out of the flames. Ohki was already dead, and he mourned the loss of his long time close friend and aide. This was not the end of this tragic moment however; an opportunistic Tia saw this as a chance and lunged out at A’Bhen, striking a fatal blow, thus claiming the title of Nunh for himself. 4.Do you haveany siblings? What are/were they like? No siblings that I know of, but considering mothers profession, anything can be possible right? 5.Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I still live with the same clan. The people… they all seem to hate me, they call me an outsider, a witch, a daughter of a whore. I serve as the current Nunh’s… well slave is the best way to say it. I make and bring him his food, clean up after him and do whatever other errands he demands me to. He touches and paws me and in his eyes I can see he hungers for something more, but at the same time I can see disgust in his eyes when he looks at me. It’s at these times that he strikes and abuses me. No one in the tribe helps, they all look away and pretend to not even see. 6.What is your occupation? Currently serving as the Nunh’s slave… though I pray to the Goddess that this changes soon… 7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. I am small for a Miqo’te, smaller than all the other females my age and even some that are younger than me. My age? Right I should also mention that, at the time of this writing I have just passed my 17[sup]th[/sup] winter. How time flies; I can still remember my mother’s death as if it were yesterday and not seven years past. I’m rather scrawny I should say, undernourished but that is to be expected since I am an outcast. The Nunh makes sure that I am fed nothing but scraps and leftovers, at times taking away even that depending on his mood and how I performed the days duties. The clan that I “live†with are all Seekers of the Sun, but I am not one of them. While my mother was alive I can remember she would tell me that we were Seekers of the Moon, sisters to the Seekers of the Sun. She told me all sorts of things about our people and the Goddess Melphina, our matron. I can remember my mother had such pale white skin just like the color of the moon, I however have a more tanned look, similar to the Sun Clans color. I often wondered why I was so different than my mother, but then I would get a slap to the face and told to continue working. My hair is also another oddity if I say so myself. It’s shoulder length and has two very different colors. A majority of my hair is a light pink color but then I also have strands of blue hair mixed in. The tips of my hair also seem to turn blue, almost the same blue as my mother’s hair, only slightly darker if I can remember right. Ah you’re curious about my eyes as well? My eyes… are another thing that is odd and stands out more than I would like. My left eye is pink and my right eye is blue. Funnily enough they are the same colors as my hair. Such a troublesome appearance if I say so myself. I don’t have any tattoos, but ever since my mother died I have been forced to paint on my face a design so that I would further stand out from the other females. If I ever forgot to apply it, I would get beaten rather badly. I learned early on in my new life to not forget to put it on. I’ve also got two scars, one on my nose and the other on my left cheek. Don’t give me dirty looks I meant the cheek on my face. How did I get them? I can’t really remember honestly, but it was most likely thanks to the Nunh. 8.To which social class do you belong? Social class?I don’t think I belong to any social class, unless being an outcast is one. 9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, orother physical weaknesses? Allergies or diseases, hmm I don’t have either that I know of. Can you count my extreme meekness as a disease? I am however physically weak, pitifully so. I would guess that is the fault of malnourishment. I tire easily and have the strength of a child… 10. Are you right- or left-handed? I am proud to say that I am both! Though I keep this secret from everyone, I can write with both hands! My mother was so proud of me when she realized this little ability of mine. 11. What does your voice sound like? I dunno, soft? Barely concernable? 12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? Hahaha this is a great question! I often say things like “Yesâ€, “Right awayâ€, “Okayâ€, “Understoodâ€. I wish I could say more, to really speak out my mind but… well I don’t like getting hurt. 13. What do you have in your pockets? My mother’s old handkerchief, an old beat up spoon, a really dull knife, oh and I wear a headband that my mother gave to me. 14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I guess I can say that I am pretty clumsy when it comes to hand eye coordination and movement. I mumble when I try to speak as well. Other than that I try to hide myself away from the public’s eye as much as possible. Show Content
Growing upPart 2: GrowingUp
15. How would you describe your childhoodin general? My childhood before my mother’s death wasa far cry to what it was after she passed. When she was alive I had more to eat, I played (with just mother and A’Bhen Nunh). After they died well, my life became a living hell, as if I was thrown aside by the Goddess and the world in general. 16. What is your earliest memory? The earliest thing I could remember is when mother would put on little shows with her magic. Fire and ice both dancing in the air. 17. How much schooling have you had? Little to none. Just what I can remember mother telling me about thaumaturgy. She also taught me the basics of reading and writing. I also have funny dreams where this little green thing speaks to me and tells me weird words. I wonder if it’s related to mothers magic? 18. Did you enjoy school? See the last question. 19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? Trial and error, if I got it wrong I would get beaten. Pain is an excellent motivator it would seem. 20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. Just my mother, for obvious reasons. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? The other “members†of my “family†all hate me and wish me the worst in life. How does that sound? 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a mage, like mother. I wanted to travel the world learning how to cast magic, I wanted to be a hero like A’Bhen Nunh who saved me and mother, a protector like him who could also hurt those that threaten, me like mother could. 23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? I always enjoyed reading mothers books, she had so many. I also had a pet back then though I can’t remember what it looked like or what happened to it. 24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? Mother and A’Bhen Nunh were always exclaiming how curious I was, and how quickly I learned new things. 25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? Oh yes I was rather popular among the other kids in the clan. I was so popular in fact, that the other kids saw to it that they would go out of their way to say such wonderfully mean things to me and play magnificent tricks on me. 26. When and with whom was your first kiss?Hah the current bastard Nunh has often tried to kiss me but I somehow manage to slip away. A’Bhen Nunh taught me that word and a bunch of other not nice things to say. If only I had the courage to say them out loud. 27. Are you a virgin? If not, whenand with whom did you lose your virginity?  Youare asking me if I have had sex? What a… bold question! I thought the kiss one was rather forward and now this! Like I stated before the Bastard Nunh (I have taken a liking to calling him this) has tried to do things with me over the past few seasons. I would often hear him mutter that I have become a “fine looking woman capable of breedingâ€. The thought of laying with that creature sickens me and fills me with fear. I hope I never have to do something like that with him, I pray to the Goddess, if she could just spare me just that, I would be eternally grateful. He has gotten close to forcing me down or making him service him, but I would mutter something to upset him. He would fly into a rage and beat me, which I greatly prefer to sleeping with him. 28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e.mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. Ahh I must reveal my true identity now?Yes I am an all-powerful werewolf! Or werecat, which seems to fit me better. On the dawn of my 18[sup]th[/sup] winter I shall change into a terrifying creature that will slay those around me! Ok not really. It’s easy, the things I do today are the things I learned in the past that will keep me out of trouble. Show Content
Past InfluencesPart 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?  What was my most important life event? Easy, when mother and A’Bhen Nunh were killed and I became the Bastards slave. 30. Who has had the most influence on you? This is a hard choice between mother and the Bastard Nunh. Mother for all the good reasons, like growing strong and becoming independent, the Bastard for all the bad reasons, like wanting to hurt those that have done me wrong or if I should just end the suffering now to get it over with. 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Most likely my biggest achievement is not giving into despair and killing myself. Yep, greatest achievement of my entire life right there. 32. What is your greatest regret? Not being strong enough to protect Mother and A’Bhen Nunh, not being cruel enough to kill the Bastard Nunh. 33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? I once added some extra “ personal seasonings†to the Bastards food. He ate it, all of it. Thankfully he never found out. Unless he did and that was the reason why he ate it with such enthusiasm? Ugh… 34. Do you have a criminal record of anykind? My criminal record according to the tribe is existing. 35. When was the time you were the most frightened? Shortly after Mother was killed the Bastard tried to “play†with me. I was terrified and lashed out, cutting him. He flew into such a rage he beat me until I passed out. 36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? As punishment for disobeying the Bastards order, I was tied to a table in the middle of the clan’s settlement and stripped of my clothes. The Bastard then proceeded to enjoy my breasts until he was satisfied. He then left me there, dirty for two days to “think about why I deserved this punishmentâ€. Thankfully he gave orders that made it so that no one else could touch me… 37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? Just one thing? Can’t I change two at least? If I could choose one thing than I wish Mother didn’t have to die. 38. What is your best memory? It was summer and was a glorious day. Mother was holding me in her lap while she made ice crystals dance among small flames. 39. What is your worst memory? Have you been reading any of this? You should know by now. Show Content
Beliefs and OpinionsPart 4: BeliefsAnd Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? The world sucks, the Bastard sucks, this stupid clan sucks. But mother always said that somewhere out there, there is a place for us all. I just doubt that I am strong enough to find it, or perhaps, living this hell with this clan is my place in the world?  41. What is your greatest fear? To finally be broken by the Bastard. 42. What are your religious views? The gods and goddess are out there, they just don’t care for me. 43. What are your political views? Politics? Never had a say in them so what kind of view could I have? 44. What are your views on sex? I’m terrified by the thought of it thanks to that Bastard. Though, the other females always look so pleased after they spend time with him. I guess I am curious, if just a little bit. 45. Are you able to kill? Under whatcircumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? I want to kill;I wish I could kill, if only I had the strength and ability to do it. I would have killed that Bastard so long ago. Acceptable circumstances? Revenge, self-defense, revenge. 46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Be someone like the Bastard. 47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? What is love? Soul mates? Hah something like that won’t happen to someone like me. 48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Freedom. 49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? Honest; no.Being honest is the same as asking to be beaten. Not that I could be honest even if I wanted to; I am far too meek to speak up so I keep it all to myself. 50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Men are evil, women are uncaring. Miqo’te are a broken race. 51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? I refuse to have sex with that Bastard. He would have to knock me unconscious and hope I don’t bite my tongue. Mother always said that is something that I should save for someone I care for. 52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? I want my freedom, even if it means dying in an attempt to obtain it. But I’ve already realized that there is no escape from this hell. Show Content
Relationships with othersPart 5:Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others(politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? I treat everyone the same, the way I have been forced to learn to treat others. I am below them, dirt for them to walk on. So I treat them with respect. It’s all I can remember how to do. 54. Who is the most important person inyour life, and why? There is this one female, I don’t even know her name. She isn’t kind to me, not by any means, but I think she at least pities me. When the Bastard tries something, like fondling me, she tries to distract him, granting me a temporary escape. Though I’m sure she does it for her own means, words can’t describe how important it is that she does that. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? I’ll pass on this one. 56. Who are your friends? Do youhave a best friend? Describe these people. “Friendsâ€right… 57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Nope 58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. No, but I can see that some of the males often look at me with lustful glares. 59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Someone who cares for me? Who doesn’t want to hurt or humiliate me? I guess? 60. How close are you to your family? I hope you’ve been paying attention. 61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? Start a family? Are you crazy? I can barely find reason for living myself, how could I possibly bring another life into this cruel world? 62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Hahaha, you’re so funny with these silly questions. 63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? See above 64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? I bet the Bastard would miss me, because then he wouldn’t have anyone to beat or lust over. 65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? The Bastard Nunh who else? And for obvious reasons. 66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Conflict is pain, of course I try to avoid it. 67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? A meek little slave taking on a leadership role? Have you been in the sun too long? 68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? By the gods large groups of people make me skittish. It reminds me of when the Bastard tied me to that table… 69. Do you care what others think ofyou? I would prefer that people don’t think of me. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? The Bastard smokes some odd plant. He often makes me smoke it as well. It isn’t... unpleasant I guess I could say. He also makes me drink with him, I don’t mind it but I get scared that I might let him in. 77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Keeping the Bastard Nunh company during his parties. Serving him and his guests while they find different ways to humiliate me. 78. What makes you laugh? I haven’t laughed in a long time, can’t rightly answer this one. 79.
