Poe's Journal Entry

The crew's ranks continue to grow. I hope the Captain is considering a large party of sorts, I would like to be able to welcome them all. Perhaps an evening in Costa, drinks and fun or an outing as a group. Laiffy will fit in well, he seems to have his eye on making profits, I doubt anyone in the crew will be upset by this.

Joundi has kept to his word, started teaching me how to use my staff as a defensive weapon. I will admit, it has been tough, not using my abilities but I need to be able to do this. He has been very patient with me as I flub along. He didn't use weapons, but...well, it was my fault really. I got a little cocky, was feeling a bit more comfortable. I know he didn't mean to actually have the punch connect. I tried to hide how much it hurt. He immediately apologized, rushing to my side and asking me to drink a potion he had with him. It took the breath from me. While the potion reduced the pain, I still have a colorful bruise on my side from it. I haven't wanted to show him or tell him though. I could heal it up more and I did a little bit, but there is something...well, I know I worked hard, it seems training would require some physical discomfort. And it reminds me why I AM learning how defend myself. So things like this don't happen.

I wish I had the natural ability that I see so many others have. N'yxa has a youthful exuberance that makes me reminisce; I very much felt that way when I found my freedom from my tribe. She seems amazingly gifted as a pugilist. Joundi and I ended up speaking with her on the ship the other evening. She is concerned about...the future, what may come. I will admit, I have tried not to think of it. There have been such challenges immediately before this crew....I just have been focused there. But that conversation made me realize I have not been as aware as I probably should be. I know it's a flaw of mine, I focus in on something and miss other important going-ons.

No word on Mota. Jaxio could only find out that Sula has been on a rampage. Mota gone with the next Mender and the last bit that remained of the Willow tree....dead. I fear this will make her come for the small bit I have left. But I am saving it, it needs a safe place to grow and it won't be with her. She will simply corrupt it again and that tree will be lost forever.

It is about time to start plants for the next harvest. I found a nice spot near the Sanctum, close by but still with plenty of space. I want to make sure I have plenty of cigars to share with new crew members, especially if we have a larger gathering....

Poe's Journal Entry

The disturbance is much worse than I had originally anticipated. Jaxio had caught up with me while out on a walk, rumblings of agitated beasts. I wasn't sure if Joundi was going to take my invitation, but I was relieved to find him at the Sanctum. I brought him up to date on what Jaxio reported. Poor Jaxio, much to scared to show himself around anyone yet, but I see his interest in Joundi. He lingered and listened, just out of sight until we headed deeper into the Shroud.

The beasts were agitated, we ran into problems sooner than I anticipated. While on our way to the Seedbed, we discovered several bodies of water that appeared tainted. The color was off. Further inspection showed the water was ok in the Seedbed, yet the beasts were still agitated.

My biggest worry is the shrine...We found it a little further south. A large crystal...Joundi recognized it immediately as well. Ramuh...a crystal to help call him. The touched Sylph there was so entranced it did not even notice us as we approached. I fear something is amiss, even after speaking with N'yxa where I had spoken of Ramuh being more...predictable than others...

Perhaps I was wrong. I wanted to talk to Ry about it and Joundi and I ran into him at the hot springs. We met a nice Miqo'te as well, Maya was her name I think. Ry didn't...seem to want to speak much on the subject. I know he just needs time...I will try to speak to him again, I know he would be helpful in figuring out what is going on, Joundi and I can't do it alone, I need as much help as possible. I need his help.
