The insecurity doesn't have to mean that they have latent homosexual feelings themselves. That's your assumption, not mine. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Pls put a shirt on - Flashhelix - 06-01-2015 (06-01-2015, 04:18 AM)theincubuslord Wrote:(06-01-2015, 04:10 AM)Flashhelix Wrote:(06-01-2015, 03:54 AM)theincubuslord Wrote:(06-01-2015, 03:26 AM)Flashhelix Wrote:(06-01-2015, 01:10 AM)theincubuslord Wrote: It does kinda sound like this issue stems from some personal insecurities, perhaps of the sexual nature. There's a handful of male faces that are pretty androgynous for elezen, miqo'te and hyur in particular. Not too surprising given that such a style is very popular over in Japan but at least it's possible to make masculine/handsome looking characters too! I'd say that Miqo'te, Elezen and Midlander men - when designed with specific faces - adhere to the 'classically handsome' ideals that make many celebrities and athletes popular in terms of attractiveness/sex appeal. Highlanders do too to some extent but they're more ruggedly handsome than classically handsome. RE: Pls put a shirt on - K'nahli - 06-01-2015 But yes, I believe the topic was intended to be of a very light-hearted nature so please avoid relating it so something deeper just in case anyone takes offence to it *nod nods* No more cactuuaaarrs!! But yeah if you're arguing about proper desert attire you should probably be arguing to the devs about it, 'cause you have more examples of arid nakedness than not. Anyways, regardless of whatever may be the truth behind Eorzean/Sunseeker resistance to the sun's blaze, in the end I'll still be on the side of holding one's personal appearance above that of largely-negligible, fantasy realism points such as this. Customization and such is a massive selling point to most gamers, RP and non-RP alike, or so I believe. If you can meet both criteria then great, if you can merely only try to strike a balance then that's also good; if you have to deviate wildly then... oh well, so long as you're happy! For my personally I think it seemed to fit within the themes of tribal and something appropriate for a warm climate so even if it doesn't work 100% in terms of direct exposure in peak hours, I'll be willing to overlook it. Similarly, one of my characters only seems to look nice in black and he spends most of his time in Thanalan. It's not ideal, but I won't throw away something I like for something that really doesn't matter in the end. K'nahli, my miqo'te, also has a dark set but I'm willing to say that she only uses that in the later hours or when out of the direct sun at least. RE: Pls put a shirt on - Ignacius - 06-01-2015 Look, if you don't like it, do what I do. Carve an insult backwards into their chest.  My personal favorite is "PEDO".  Careful cutting those curves and make sure you leave enough space for all four letters.  You don't want people silently judging your handwriting. RE: Pls put a shirt on - Bopdoot - 06-01-2015 I just react to things ic based on what I see.  Half naked man? Amelia will blush and be uncomfortable but around naked ladies she won't care at all cuz they're all the same parts and she's not attracted to women.  But ye, tongue and cheek topic.  Pls be shirtless, I am ooc mirin hmmm~  ^θ^ RE: Pls put a shirt on - SicketySix - 06-01-2015 Shirtless in the hot heat of the sun......Nawhhh fer realz? RE: Pls put a shirt on - Steel Wolf - 06-01-2015 Catbois is never allowed to wear shirts. Isn't going shirtless more of a hot-and-humid kind of thing? In the hot desert people would be more likely to wear loose clothes to cover most of their skin while still being airy enough. It keeps you cooler by keeping the sun off your skin and making your sweat evaporate more slowly. If you look around Thanalan it's pretty hard to find people shirtless, they're mostly dressed like "desert folk." Not trying to be a geek about this, just saying that if you want to show off your bod then "it's the desert" isn't really a great excuse. :p |
