A Few Role Play Questions - Dukedarkflame - 07-06-2015 Alright, so, um... I'm pretty new to FF14. I've been Role Playing for a while on other games (Guild Wars 2, Lord of the Rings Online), and I wanted to get involved in the FF14 RP scene. I wasn't able to get into Balmung, as it wasn't currently accepting new characters, but I managed to make a character on Sargatanas. I was wondering if there are any Role Play guilds on Sargatanas? Or at least some Role Players to hang out with? I'm enjoying the game greatly so far, and I think my enjoyment would boost significantly if there were others to Role Play with. If you're a Sargatanas RPer (or on a different server, I don't know if you can have people from other servers on your friends list yet), feel free to send me a friend request at "A'shoye Lhiqo" Thanks in advance, Duke RE: A Few Role Play Questions - LiadansWhisper - 07-06-2015 I'm not sure about an RP community on Sargatanas, but if you're wanting to get on Balmung, you normally have to do so in the wee hours of the morning, as the server is high population.  So around 5am to 8am CST on a weekday is usually a good time to try.  Also, they're doing maintenance tonight (July 6) at 11pm PDT (so 1am July 7 CST) to 3am PDT.  If you try to make a character right after the servers come up, there's a good chance you'll be able to get on Balmung at that point.    Hope that helps. RE: A Few Role Play Questions - Enla - 07-06-2015 Paid transfers are probably the best option if you have the money, though do be sure to look at the instructions for them when on the Mog Station as there are time and quest requirements one needs to take into account when applying. (I think it was something like completing the first main quest and three days of time passing in the real world?) In regards to making a character on Balmung I do have a word of advice. The server is usually up for one hour or more after maintenance depending upon numerous factors. However due to the release of the expac two weeks ago I would not bank on that being the current case. Try to camp the launcher when the maintenance is coming to an end, then once it's over immediately try to get your character in. Have a name ready as well as the appearance should you not desire to remake your current one and it might work. Personally if it does I'd try to sneak one or two more on as well, just so you have others to play with should the mood strike you to write another character. But all of this is predicated on you actually wanting to hop over to Balmung. There's been a few attempts by other people to bring RP to the less populated servers, and I do remember some people making threads before asking if anyone was RPing on Sargatanas. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy your stay in the game.
