Dalamud's Wrath--Aftermath (Open) - Kylin - 10-28-2012 ((OOC: Exactly like the Dalamud Cometh thread. Please feel free to post the aftermath of the Full Cold Moon event here ^^. For some, this may be their official exit story until ARR. For others, it could be a pre-exit story.)) Somewhere in Coerthas, under a cloudy sky where Dalamud lingers ominously… Kylin remained unconscious, sprawled out on the grassy field with slightly tattered clothes. Some blood covered his face and even more, not necessarily his own, covered his shredded clothing. A chocobo caravan slowly approached the injured hyur, the occupant in the back of the carriage leaping off before it even reached the young man. “My darling son!†Cartius wasted no time running to his son’s unconscious side, cradling him in his arms. He didn’t seem bothered by his son's blood getting onto his own elegant red and white robes. The Felstar patriarch began to weep softly as he rocked his son back and forth in his arms, unwavering to the dirt beneath him which only further dirtied his expensive robes. The driver of the carriage and a single other occupant, obviously an attendant, rushed to their master’s side. The two hyur stood in shock at the scene. Cartius gently stroked his son’s bloodied face, tears streaming down the patriarch’s cheeks. “How could this have happened. Oh, my darling boy. Don’t die on me. You deserve the world. I shouldn’t have waited so long for us to leave this gods-forsaken land. You deserve a better father. I’m going to be a better father. So don’t leave me.†One of the attendants glanced over his shoulder as a small group, three in number, of Garlean soldiers slowly approached the caravan. Their eyes widened in terror. They wasted no time dashing off in the direction of Ishgard, showing no regard for their master or his fallen son. Cartius issued a quick glare at the two men, shouting at them. “Come back! Help my son you cowards!†Cartius returned his attention to his son as the Garleans approached the two. The Felstar patriarch continued gazing lovingly at his unconscious son, the man’s ruby ring beginning to glisten faintly as the Garleans slowly approached… ================================== Vertigo dashed quickly through Coerthas, following the caravan’s trail. The masked miqo’te had seen the meteor strike near the gala’s location and feared the worst. She hadn’t even had time to stop Cartius from heading in that direction as soon as he learned that Garleans were spotted marching toward the area. In the distance, she could spot the stopped caravan. She dashed with more determination toward it. As she approached it, Cartius came into view. Along with him, she could see Kylin lying on the ground, seemingly unconscious. A sense of dread overcame the miqo’te as she hurried to them. The small pile of dead Garleans, their bodies seeming scorched badly, made her stop in her tracks, unsure how to react at first. Shaking off the surprise, she approached her masters. “Lord Cartius! Is he…?†Cartius carefully scooped his son into his arms and carried him to the caravan, gently placing him into the carriage as he spoke. “He’ll survive. My boy needs proper medical attention quickly though. Can you drive us back to Ishgard?†Vertigo nodded, quickly hopping up into the driver’s seat as Cartius climbed into the back with his son. The carriage began it’s journey back to the city, leaving behind the Garlean bodies. Kylin stirred faintly, muttering in an almost inaudible and weary voice. “…Gerik…†“Rest my son,†Cartius spoke in as soothing a voice he could muster. “When you awake, we’ll be somewhere safe. Vertigo, when we get to the city…gather the family and prepare the ship. We leave Eorzea immediately.†|
