So...dry skin during winter yet oily skin during summer problems - does any of you use primers for foundation. If so what do you recommend???! My skin has been acting up and dry patches are very stubborn - living on the east coast west coast doesn't help either. :c I used loreal lumi true match foundation - which is one of the more hydrating foundtions i've never used but STILL - the patches will not go away. You exfoliate them away and they come back the next day Cry

Also lipstick new find (actually not new, i've had it for a while but i just picked it up and started wearing it more and more recently!) - smashbox be legendary lipstick in primrose. It's a beautiful mauve pink color, very hydrating but pigmented. Wearing it today and have been in the past week!! It's the only smashbox lipstick I have tried but so far the experience is excellent Laugh

Coming from someone with nasty combination skin all year round, put on some heavier duty moisturizer on those dry patches before you put on your makeup. Within 2-3 minutes of washing your face or being in the shower, you need to moisturize. Try to avoid hot water on your face. If the dry spots continue, try some jojoba oil -- when I start getting flaky spots, I use homemade heavy duty stuff (shea butter, jojoba oil, beeswax, vitamin E oil, arrowroot powder) on the flaky spots, and that usually helps. (editing to add: this is the same shit I use on my moderate eczema, that I double-checked with my dermatologist and allergist on -- it's gentle and will help lock moisture in. )

Too, if it's persistent, use a heavy nighttime moisturizer.

If you can, give the moisturizers 20-30 min to soak in before putting on your makeup. You need to help your skin keep its barrier so it's not getting stripped of what it needs.

Intense hydration masks in addition to moisturizers specifically formulated for dry skin types will help.

The strongest one I have used so far - but NOT ENOUGH on some days. :c

*That feel when you spend 15+ minutes trying to make perfect eyeliner wings*
I thought i'd look pretty today, and in the process I spent that much time because......I actually don't know why. It just wasn't working, and I kept having to fix it. Because of this, I was late.

Using some Kat Von D. eyeliner from Sephora, the tip tend to go dry, so i'm always having to pinch it off to get rid of the dull tip, and to make it easier to apply.

What do you guys recommend? I want to be able to do this with better eyeliner, and in less time.

The strongest one I have used so far - but NOT ENOUGH on some days. :c

I would actually recommend:

For overnight: http://www.target.com/p/boots-no7-beautiful-skin-night-cream-dry-very-dry-1-69-oz/-/A-14227720#prodSlot=medium_1_29&term=boots+no7

For daytime: http://www.target.com/p/boots-no7-beautiful-skin-day-cream-dry-spf15-1-69-oz/-/A-14227743#prodSlot=medium_1_31&term=boots+no7

And then at least once a week, do some kind of hydrating mask like

http://shrayskincare.com/products/facial-mask-ms-amazing-5pcs (I have a promo code for 25% off, it's Boxycharm25%off)

http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4650043

You also need to drink a lot of water, and avoid foundations that are drying. Stop using drying face washes. What I've found works best is removing makeup with http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/olay-4-in-1-daily-face-wipes-sensitive/ID=prod6062826-product and following up with washing my face with http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4190255

If your skin is still too dry, I highly recommend http://www.target.com/p/garnier-clean-nourishing-cleansing-oil-for-dry-skin-4-2-fl-oz/-/A-14969783?clkid=add928d8Nc21661e9ce98013d5e55759f&lnm=81938&afid=Shoptagr&ref=tgt_adv_xasd0002 It was a bit too oily for me, but if you are experiencing really bad dry skin, I believe it would be a real help.

That's all the tips I have!

in jet black.

I am on my #5+ for this eyeliner. I do like the kat von d one but for me it doesn't last as long as the stila one (both on the eyes and in the tube!)

Just got back from visiting the boyfriend in Ohio, and the girl at the Mac counter at Macy's talked me into...

I really wanted Fix+, but she said she was out.

I also ended up finding a Lush store and getting a 1/4lb bar of "Sexy Peel" soap. It smells amazing.

But really, the girl at the Mac counter said the Mineralize stuff works exactly like the Fix+, but now I'm worried. Anyone tried it?

One of the ingredients is Diamond powder, I shit you not.
