Friendly Tidings From Syhrskylt! - Nazzhund Solkbyrtsyn - 03-10-2016
Greetings, Eorzeans! After hopping to and from MMORPGs in search of one with a healthy RP community (my last one being Star Wars: The Old Republic), I was piqued by the overwhelmingly positive reviews that I'd been reading for Final Fantasy XIV. I've played chapters of the Final Fantasy series ever since the first installment for the Nintendo Entertainment System, but not once have I had the opportunity to play either FFXI or FFXIV. So, almost a week ago, I gave the 14-day free trial a spin and was immediately hooked. Something about it just gives me that sense of adventure and wanderlust that I used to experience while playing the NES/SNES titles. And to hear that this game has a dedicated community of friendly role-players makes it all the better for me.Â
Admittedly, I haven't been able to access Balmung (since the server has always been barred from character creation when I've tried to enter it, and I currently lack the requirements to transfer a character over). As of this moment, I'm playing on Siren with a Roegadyn Sea Wolf Gladiator by the name of Syhrskylt Solkbyrtsyn. I'm frequently seeking moderate role-play with anyone and everyone, so I'd gladly welcome any would-be companions who wouldn't mind sharing company and showing me the ropes!

Hey there! Welcome to ffxiv! Hope you're enjoying your experience.Â
I used to have the same issues when I first started, not being able to access balmung. I found the best times to try (if you're up for it) are the hours directly after a patch, and during peek hours. (For me its around 5 a.m. EST)Â
whichever server you play on hope you have a grand time, and if you ever do get into Balmung, see if I'm and shoot me tell for some rp!

Thank you both for the heartwarming welcomes! And Jax, I had actually stayed up this morning for post-maintenance (up until 4 AM or so) in hopes of getting into Balmung. But even though I had tried to act quickly, the server was still restricting character creation. Just my beginner's misfortune.
 If I continue to be lacking of luck the next couple of days, I'll simply have to transfer over; I've heard it's definitely worth it, anyway. I may as well create some more characters to emigrate from Siren to Balmung, too. And if everything falls into place, I'll certainly reach out to you!EDIT: I apologize.
