Live Letter Q&A' Wrote:Q: During the 20th Letter from the Producer LIVE, you explained that the specialist system will be implemented in order to balance the current situation where crafters are forced to level multiple classes and because you would like players to work together with each others. However, there are specialist recipes which require gear which have advanced melding, and the skill rotation has become much more complicated with specialist actions, and it feels like the threshold has increased more than before. Do you have plans to make adjustments, so more players can enjoy crafting?

A: The reason I mentioned that previously was because players were nearly forced to level every crafting class, or it was difficult in general to craft. We would like to move forward so that top-tier crafters can maintain their advantage, and for older recipes, these recipes aren’t really difficult to craft. In Patch 3.3, we’re going to increase crafter’s item level cap. There may be pros and cons for this, but for the next one, we’re planning to make them as a shared class equipment.

Considering that unless a new rotation development has happened (I wouldn't know because I absolutely hate the scrips system so I essentially stopped doing any work towards that), most of the known crafters avoid Specialist actions like the plague because they're too random (and that's considering the fact that, well, the whole crafting system is essentially X-Com level of fuckery at higher levels).

Also, I'd have liked it if they actually answered the question instead of just saying "we're raising iLevel cap in 3.3 kthxbye"

"Not too great," my ass.
Valendia Knights of the Peace buttshorts will one day be the hot new fashion in Eorzea, eclipsing Snowe coats and Kirimu/Arachne gear for all time.

Sooo...about the whole section of the letter where Japan gets new event items...did they discuss anything there for everyone else at all?  Do we assume they are just gonna cash-shop those?  (That would make sense since they are purchasing real things to obtain items anyways). It would fun/funny to see 7-Eleven get a strange upswing in business from this though just saying...

The Chinese and Korean armor would be nice additions, let's hope that everyone fights for all of these above items to come here!

RE: Live Letter XXVIII Q&A Update Thread - Melkire - 03-26-2016

Please please please let Shadows of Mhach take place in Yafaem Saltmoor. It's one of the few regions in Aldenard beyond Gyr Abania and Xelphatol that we're still missing.

Hyped on behalf of all our ladies friends for the possibility that other regions will be getting the currently region-locked glamour pieces.

What I picked up from the stream was that they would "Look into getting the items to EU/NA region" somehow. I don't think they know how. Maybe we will just get them on the mogstation or maybe they will be involved as future event rewards I suppose.

I snapped this image of what appears to be a white fat chocobo which I'd very much like yes please thank you.

How the hell is Fenrir going to fly. . .

What.

RE: Live Letter XXVIII Q&A Update Thread - Jana - 03-26-2016

I'd imagine the terrestrial beast mounts will fly like Santa's reindeer, sort of just running through the sky.

To implement the buttshorts, they would need to have butts in the game to begin with.

More information via a live translation:

Quote:- When will we have the option to have a cross-server Party Finder?
Currently plans are in discussion, especially regarding what limits and requirements for this function. They also need to ensure all the options for searching for parties, including separating groups still progressing versus farm parties. Achievement checks are also looking like a possibility. This feature MAY be ready 3.3. It is currently planned for that time frame.

-HOUSING: In 3.3 new Plots will be added for housing. Apartment system is coming in 3.3 as well.

- The continuation of the Anima Weapons WILL BE IN 3.25.
More quests will be added to the Anima Weapon in 3.3. Will be able to adjust stats at this point. No Alexandrites. Anima Weapons shown off on screen for DRK, WHM

-Treasure Hunting Dungeon

Will be implemented as of Patch 3.3. It works similarly to Treasure Maps but instead it actually opens up a dungeon.
It will not be difficult content, but when you defeat the enemies in a room you can pull a lever to open up another room.
New items in high level maps.

-NEW QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGE: One major feature will be added that re-equips your character with all the strongest gear you currently have in your inventory (highest ilvl)

That QoL is cool.

That Treasure Dungeon thing sounds cool but you won't get anyone to do them two weeks in once they realize the rewards suck ass. (see Diadem, The)

If it is genuinely like treasure maps, no. There's still a lot of people who do maps. Diadem the problem is excessive use of time and conflict between people who go to gather and to fight. Presumably you'd have to arrange a party like 8 man maps and it's like an easy five minute or less instance.

RE: Live Letter XXVIII Q&A Update Thread - Shoshopu - 03-26-2016

OOOOH what if the treasure dungeons are like the Moblin Maze Mongers!?

ALSO!!! ALSO!!!!

Bayohne Wrote:Q: What’s the status on the glamours for summoner’s egis?

A: After assessing the resources needed to make this happen, we discovered that we need an immense amount, so we are planning to release them one patch at a time. We’re working towards implementing them starting from Patch 3.4, so please hang in there a bit longer.

I wonder which one? I wonder if they'll keep going in the same order they always do (ifrit > titan > garuda > leviathan > ramuh......) like they seem to be doing with the wind-up minions, or if it'll be based on popular demand?
