Ishgardian Families - Charity322 - 04-21-2016
I found the Ishgardian Elezen very interesting when I got to the finding the airship part of the main quest. I was considering making one and I wondered if there were any specific family names other than the high 4 Houses?

There is one minor house mentioned in the Hogwarts Scholastiate series in Ishgard, House Maintigny (quest: more than meets the eye).

A list of all known Ishgardian Minor Noble Houses can be found in the bottom half of this post on Ishgardian Houses. Lore on the Four High Houses is here and there's also a large compilation post of Ishgard Lore which you may also find helpful!
Of course you are more than free to create your own Minor Noble House! There are hundreds of Ishgardian houses and families of varied repute. Most houses we've seen in the lore have very specific stories and children. House Maintigny, for example, had six sons with Crammevoix being the youngest and actually sole survivor of his House's massacre. So saying you were a Maintigny, using the example, would be highly impractical as they're all dead.

So the best thing would be to make up my own minor noble house and to pick a High House for it to be affiliated with? Is there a list of appropriate names for houses or a list of ones people have already picked so I don't end up suddenly becoming someone's long lost sister lol?

Ishgardian names tend to sound French, so if you aim for a francophonic name you'll probably be on point.
