Snagged this one from the dogs on Guildwork this morning. As part of Yoshi-P's media tour, he interviewed with JPGAMES.DE while he was in Europe. In this interview he talked about limit breaks, FATE, potentially new tracks from Uematsu himself...
And... my personal favorite part...
"...with the main storyline you will sort of need airships and also a ship. But not only prepared ships and airships. During the update we will implement a system, so you can build your own ship or airship with your own guild. You can make your own version."

OMG! That's so awesome, if they follow through with it in a timely manner; other MMOs have promised me my own nautical ship or airship, and only Pirates of the Burning Seas ever delivered on it.

That sounds amazing! Like Darkfae, I've been hearing this sort of feature promised in a bunch of mmos. Hoping to finally see it here.

This was one of those things mentioned back in the day that I'll believe when I see.
Assuming it does come to pass, however, I can only hope that piloting one immediately plays the obvious music.
Or, if that's not available due to copyright concerns, I have another suggestion.

What I love about this dev team is their ambition. What is lacking in today's MMO dev community is ambition. The desire to say that anything can be possible. I've heard way too many 'it's too hard' statements from other teams but Yoshi here.. he's ambitious as hell. And I love it.
But there's one question...
WILL YOU BE ABLE TO LAND THE AIRSHIP ON THE CARRIER?!?!?

Yeah, they did say way back in the day that they would do this, so it technically isn't 'news news.'Â On the other hand, that was when Tanaka had his claws in the game and released it with flaws upon flaws upon flaws...
I almost think its probable that we might've seen some shape of this take place in FFXIV 1.0 if it had continued on, but it probably would've been rather lamesauce. Tanaka did talk like he had a lot up his sleeve, but his chief error was that there wasn't enough in the game at launch, and especially when he spoke like he set it up like that on purpose... well, that doesn't go well.
