+10 GMT Company

General Overview:
CAIT is the name for this organisation with no true goal, apart from providing a place for a close group of friends to hang out and have fun. In terms of theme, there is no truely set IC theme apart from "Expansive" or "Comprehensive".

In-character Summary:
Once, there was a trading company known as "The Triumvirate". Led by the lofty Merchant Queen and her two Hands, the Company was known within Thanalan as one of the most influential Trading concerns within the land. However its greatness became its undoing. Enemies of the Merchant Queen sought her death, causing her to flee. She left her most trusted officers to lead the company in her stead, however her choices caused a great divide within the company, with many formerly trusted members leaving.

In the company's weakened state, the mansion the company was based out of never stood a chance when it was attacked by a mysterious stranger who seemed to resist all injury. The attack ended with the mansion aflame, and the Regent Queen of the company presumed dead by the Ul'dahn authorities.

Without home or leaders, the remaining loyal members disbanded and went their seperate ways. But the Regent Queen lived, and with her wife and their close ally, a sentient Cait Sith doll, they vanished into the shadows, hidden behind their death certificates, to rebuild the Triumvirate anew.

From shadows, they now watch and manipulate minor events around the land, with contacts within trade, guilds, and even the political ruling classes of the land, for what purpose, none can say, perhaps not even they.

Or so it is believed, for none can confirm the current existance of the Triumvirate. Only whispers and unsubstantiated hear-say. Certainly, however, if they do exist, their purposes are eclectic, changing as the situation comes. Be it seeking knowledge, averting minor-disaster, or taking control of a dangerous relic and sealing it away within their expansive vault, whatever their end-game, it's one only they may know.

Style of Play:
What does this company bring to the table with its setting?
  • Via NPC's, their influence spreads to every town and city within the land. While they don't have the numbers and power to influence major policy, they have enough to be aware of changes and make suggests of minor alterations to suit their purposes. If you need to know something inside a guild or a nation's government, these people will probably have some idea of what's going to happen.
  • Other agents work to keep certain threats in check. From criminals who have targeted the Triumvirate in the past, to minor threats that existing martial authorites either ignore or miss. Not impossible odds, no picking fights with a Castrum, but threats that can be handled within the capabilities of those at hand.
  • When they aren't messing with how things are run in other places, they are ever looking for new knowledge about magic, science, and history, or expanding on what they do have. Be it coming up with unorthodox uses for magic, or seeking new uses for science, there is always something to keep them occupied.
  • A mysterious Vault, bequeethed by the Merchant Queen before she vanished, sits as a defensive bastion for sealing away some of the more dangerous or unstable relics still lurking in the world, keeping them locked up for safety or further study.
  • Based out of a boarding house in the Lavender Beds, guarded by all sorts of magical defenses. With a small medical office, expansive library, a kitchen with bar for social events, a workshop and a fancy Lounge with stage for performers to strut their stuff set up just so far, there is room to grow and become even more comprehensive.

Recruitment:
We do not actively recruit, rather we prefer to meet people IC, get to know them IC and OOC, and if we feel there is a place for a person to fit into our group, we'll give them the open invitation only then.

It is also worth bearing in mind that the two founding members are Australian, and thus the company will primarily run on a schedule that works best with an Aussie schedule.
