Hallr's Vanguard - Gailen Lannis - 04-09-2017 HALLR'S VANGUARD About Us Hallr’s Vanguard is a freelance mercenary Company that takes on a variety of work; no job is too big or small for us. Our members come from various backgrounds and creeds, from soldiers to refugees, rich or poor, Hyur or Au Ra. All are welcome to join our ranks as long as they are willing to pull their weight. Our base of operations is the “The Hearth” which is located inside the Lavender Beds of the Black Shroud (Plot 51, 3rd Ward Subdivision). Should you wish to try your luck with us, do not be discouraged from seeking us out. Glory and adventure is but a stone’s throw away! OOC We’re a small Free Company that aims to provide a friendly environment and plenty of Roleplay. We also offer non-Roleplay activities, such as dungeons, raids and general shenanigans. As an FC, we’re more than happy to lend assistance with what we can! Be it that pesky trial nobody runs anymore, or running an old instance for some fancy Glamour. We also make use of a Discord server, to allow our members to better connect OOC, and get to know the players behind the characters! Along with a Forum that serves as both an Archive and a Notice Board for upcoming events. While we are a primarely EU-based FC, our four officers are split down the middle with two EU based officers and two NA officers. Events While the officers may have some storylines planned out, other members, regardless of rank, are encouraged to make and host their own events as well, but it is not a requirement. The Officer team is also more than happy to assist members in planning out their own events. Our events can range from something as simple as hunting down a bounty to something more large scale such as fighting in a major skirmish to decide the outcome of our storylines. That’s not to say every event will revolve around combat! From time to time we may host more social events within the company, like a trip to the Gold Saucer. We’ve also recently given our Estate some much needed tender love and care to give it a makeover. With the hope of hosting varying events from within our House to the public. Rules 1 Things sometimes have a habit of getting out of hand. Maybe a joke rubs a nerve, or maybe a conversation topic makes you feel rather uneasy. Either way, should anything happen in the FC that makes you uncomfortable, everyone has the right to call for the conversation to stop. If this request to stop is not honoured, an Officer will step in and enforce it if required. In the event that maybe the topic makes you uncomfortable, but you don’t want to be ‘that guy’ and ask people to stop? Then tell an Officer, we’ll do the dirty work and call for the end of the topic. Failure to heed the stop request will result in a warning. We don’t like having to do this. But the FC chat should remain a place where everyone feels comfortable, and no one feels the need to have to mute the chat window. 2 We’d ask that you avoid going into topics that you know not everyone will be comfortable with. I shouldn’t have to name these, but if you’re uncertain of what this means, then please ask me to elaborate and I shall provide examples. If you know for a fact everyone, and I mean everyone, that is currently present has no issue with these topics, then I won’t stop it. Otherwise please use a little discretion and keep those sort of comments in private chats. 3 Respect one another. Plain and simple. We’re all in this Free Company together, and whilst I don’t expect you to love literally everyone, or put them all on pedestals or anything like that, I do expect you to be courteous and at least civil to everyone else in the Company. We’re all adults here, and we expect you to act like adults. In the event you feel there might be bad blood between yourself and another Company member. Rather than push at this yourself and risk making things worse, approach an Officer. We can investigate it quietly. The same goes for if you spot someone perhaps being passive aggressive / hostile towards someone else in the FC. 4 Got something bothering you about the FC or someone in it? Approach any of the Officers, and we will listen and hear it out. Something we’re doing that you don’t agree with? Tell us. Things can’t change unless we know there needs to be a change. If the thing that’s brought to an Officer is rather large however, please be aware that it will likely be spoken about between the other Officers for us to decide a course of action. If something's out of one of our depths, combined we might have a better chance of bringing the issue to a close. WHY US?
