In the 'origin story' of my Miqo girls, their sire was a thief and got caught trying to rob a manor. Oops. The lord of the manor sends his hounds after the scoundrel...

But 'hounds' sounds so cliche. I'd like to spice it up with some creature a little more interesting.
Being new to FF14, I'm not sure what would fill the role of 'hounds' to hunt down intruders. They would have to be something that can be tamed, yet vicious when ordered to attack. They would have to be either native to Eorzea, or something that could reasonably be imported by a rich noble.
Any help would be appreciated.
