RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Tahzn Lhethi - 08-28-2013

Whilst I didn't manage to finish one.. it made me realize how I should -really- think of a backstory to my character.

Many, many questions were answered, eventually realizing how boring and bland she was. Thank ye!

(It's mostly me, though! If I try to RP, my mind converts to that of a 4 year old, unable to form sentences with words that have more than 2 syllables. Ah well, we'll get the swing of it sometime Big Grin)

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Boo - 08-29-2013

Took me some time to complete it! Mention it if I forgot to answer one or two questions.

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Talak Marcuz - 09-11-2013

I figured since I'm new and I saw this thing, it might be sorta fun to do for my character. It really helped me build him better and I liked the topic so much I did it too.

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Getsuya - 09-13-2013

Wow... that was... daunting. So many questions about so many details. It really did help me figure out how I wanted to play him though.

... though I didn't realize going into it just how much of a Goody Two-Shoes McNice my guy was going to be. But to be honest I think guys like this are becoming scarce lately anyway so why not have someone who just wants peace and friendship all the time every once in a while.

For added amusement: take a drink everytime he mentions his brothers.

Yikes! That took a while! It really does help flesh out a character a bit more though, and I enjoyed reading other peoples answers as well. Hope I can meet some of you in game!

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Gharen - 09-14-2013

(Holy crap that managed to knock several hours out of my night at work.. had to do some research and fleshing out as well. I initially couldn't really answer as him since he wouldn't answer them to begin with. But I've since gone through and edited this post to reflect how he would answer. Evasively most of the time, bluntly and to the point the rest. I think it's safe to say this character will be a pain in the ass to deal with, and commend anyone who successfully tries.)

Gharen entered the small clearing where he had made camp for the evening. He added some wood to the fire that had burned low. As he stoked the fire he noticed a scroll sitting beside the boughs that made up his bed. His first instinct was to survey the area, there wasn't anyone nearby, and nothing had been taken from his camp. He relaxed, letting out a small breath, picked up the scroll and started to read.

A moment later he flicked his wrist and lobbed the scroll into the fire, his thoughts whirled for second as he watched the parchment catch flame. He scrambled forward and reached into the fire and rescued the scroll as he patted the flames out. He reached into his pack and pulled out a small stick of charcoal and opened the scroll...

Took a two year break, never did anything with this story.

Gegenji Mod Edit: In the future, please simply mark the post as outdated and/or place in spoiler tags rather than simply "blanking it out." Thank you.

So I'm LOVING these posts, especially that they are IC. When I first answered all these I made them OOC so still have that "draft" which gives more information than you can pry from Calebs lips. I'll post it and provide a link later.

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character - Lorielle Sylwood - 10-04-2013

I'll give this a try as Lorielle Sylwood, my first (and so far, only) RP character so far xD going to try it in character for fun =u=

Looking back over all of this, I've noticed Lorielle actually came out of her shell in her answers.  She started out shy and then became more sure of herself.  It just goes to show how her personality works xD

Spoiler: show
Part 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name? I am Eirikir "Erik" Mynhier.
2.Where and when were you born? I was born in Ala Mhigo, 30th Sun of the 4th Umbral Moon in the year 1544SAE.
3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) I brought some documentation on them.
Ulrich Mynhier
- Highlander
- Part of the personal guard of the former dictator of Ala Mhigo
- A good and decent man who loved his family
- Was stationed at the Ala Mhigan embassy in Ishgard early in his career

- Hated by the members of her House for being Hyur
- Loved by her maternal grandfather (former head of the House Fortemps)
- Her mother (hyur/elezen hybrid) died in while giving birth to her
- Exiled for becoming pregnant out of marriage by a "heathan from Ala Mhigo"
- Lead survivors to Gridania and negotiated asylum for them
- Murdered by Garlean scouts in the Shroud

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like? I had a fraternal twin brother named Corbin Mynhier, he died in the fall of Ala Mhigo.

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people. I am currently living in the Quicksand Inn with plans to build a home in my wife's home city in Limsa Lominsa. My wife, Gummie Chalahko, is a Miqo'te Keeper of the Moon. She is currently on a ship at sea as a Marauder mercenary working with the Maelstrom.
6.What is your occupation? I am a miner, as well as a Reservist with the Immortal Flames and the Sultansworn.
7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. I brought my stats.
- 6 Fulms, 6 Ilms
- 260 Ponves
- Highlander Hyur
- Dark-Blonde with Green Eyes
- Common style clothing of people from Ul'dah and Gridania
- verious minor scars from military service, no tattoos

8.To which social class do you belong? I was raised as a highborn of Ala Mhigo and Ishgard would as my parents were both highborn of their individual nations. This effects my mannerisms. Despite that, most of my social ties are to the military as well as the working community currently.

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? No.
10. Are you right- or left-handed? I am right handed.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Though not to the extent of the people of Ishgard, I can sometimes come off being a little "to religious".
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? Comfortable, then nomadic.
16. What is your earliest memory? My mother telling my brother and I my favorite fable.
17. How much schooling have you had? I was tutored by my mother until I was 15 years old in both classic subjects and conjuration. I also attended some classes in Gridania.
18. Did you enjoy school? Yes I did.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? Ul'dah.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them. My mother and father of course, and, promise not to laugh, the hero of the fable my mother told me as a child. The demon who flew on wings of red, who was betrayed by his king. His brother the dragon became mad with envy and stole the demon's rose. To save his rose and the dragon as well, the demon became a saint and saved the world from the moon above.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? We were a very loving family. The same with my father's family, I never knew my mother's family.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? Unfortunately, I was a rude and unruly child.
25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like? Before the fall, none really. With my mother's ethnic background, and the common Ala Mhigan's sense of "tolerance", I had none. In Gridania I had a good friend named Cian, but he is dead now.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? A young midlander girl who was the first person I saved as a Gladiator. I was taken by surprise I must say.
27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? Halone no! *laughed uncontrollably* As to when, it was an Elezen party member in my early days. She was older then me by a year or so.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. The tragedy of my early life showed me how important it was to protect others.
Part 3: Past Influences To many to count.
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
30. Who has had the most influence on you? Watching the fall of Dalamud.

42. What are your religious views? I am a follower of the teachings of Halone. I realize that most Ala Mhigans worship Rhalgr, but I do not. In fact it is my personal belief that all Ala Mhigans reflect on this belief.
