I bought the game when it first came out so that makes me a 1.0 player. I only played the free 30 days that came with the game and then never again. I had access to the betas when they opened them to 1.0 players. Now, the day before official launch, I just randomly try to patch and I'm allowed into the game. I thought that it was stated over and over again that you needed to preorder to get early access? Anyone have an idea as to why I'm allowed in now? I wonder if I had access the entire early launch lol.
Anyway just wanted to know if anyone else had this happen. I'm certainly not complaining =)

Don't hate too much. Even with my access, I still don't bypass the server locks. I can't log into my character on BalmungÂ

Yeah there's that... and it will probly be the same until either they make new servers, push the current server caps, or people give up.

In my launcher, I see this news:
"2013/08/26: Official Service Begins for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn! (8/26/2013)"
So... I guess official service started on the 27th for Japan and, thusly, the 26th for the US.
Those of us with 1.0 but no Legacy program status should be able to patch and, assuming the servers let us in, get in and play!

According to this, launch is still a good 9 hours away at the time of posting.

That's probably true.
Nevertheless, it is letting me log in and patch, which it wasn't doing yesterday, so... it couldn't hurt to give it a shot.
