Chocobo Barding Question - K'nahli - 09-09-2013

Quick question. I was just wondering, what is the default barding you get with your chocobo("Half-barding" or just plain "(Grand Company) Barding")?  Apparently I need level 44 before I can try out crested >o> so I'd like to look at a new one in the mean time.

Anyone? ^^

Sorry, I was meant to reply to this earlier today. I found out myself. Both bardings are actually different to the default barding you get. I don't have any screenshots(I might post some tomorrow in case anyone else stumbles across this) but I can tell you that both bardings have more armour than the default one.

Grand Company barding is the one my Choco came stock with, yes!

Lominsan Barding on left, Half-barding in the middle, crested barding on right - or I presume, at least?

I imagine they're all the same excepting the flags.

I don't have any of them yet myself. Did a bit of googling is all.

Whoops. I misread the first post entirely.

But I think I'll leave that there as reference anyway.

Are you mistaken? I bought both from the quartermaster today and they were completely different.

Here is the one that cost 6,000 seals;

Except the helmet, that is the default one(the only difference is that its a little longer with another layer of leather at the back).

Oh yeah, that's definitely not the default barding. Not nearly as much metal on it, which is why I picked it over the Behemoth Barding for the torso. (WHY WOULD MY CHOCOBO NEED FAKE ARMS HANGING IN FRONT OF ITS WINGS)

Haha, shame you can't remove the crest without exposing its front end. Albeit, IC my chocobo won't have that much armour anyways, it would be way too expensive and rather unnecessary for a teenage, tribal Miqo'te.

I won't either, because even if Khyros does end up joining the Immortal Flames like he wishes, he's a monk and fighting barehanded from a mounted position is...dubious at best. If anything he'd keep a chocobo as a pet rather than a battle mount.
