Hello! My name is Timothy, I live in Wisconsin U.S.A. I am 21 soon to be 22 in January. I have been a Role-player since I was very young. When I wasn't glued to a computer I was out side with my geek friends Larping. My first MMO was World of Warcraft. Then years after I played Aion, and then Rift. Then I moved on to Tera and was there for awhile until Guild Wars 2 came out. I play FFXIV when it first was released but my computer was not very compatible with it at the time. Now that I have a better one and things are new I came back again so here I am! This will be my first time role-playing as a guy because usually I would as a girl as well in Larping.
    My character is a male miqo'te. So far his been solo with all that he does and it fits okay since he was adopted. I joined here because I love to Role-play even in duty finders! And I was tired of playing by myself. Story wise like I said his adopted, extremely shy and feminine. He has outstanding power with white magic and is trying to find a niche he calls home. He is extremely afraid of anyone getting too close because he doesn't want anyone to fall in love with him if they do. He is average height maybe shorter, has one white eye and one purple(his very self conscious about his white eye) and after you by pass his barrier is a very eccentric kitty. His only goal really at this point is to hopefully make friends and help heal the sick and hurt because it's all he has ever known.

Awh I feel kind of shunned! Perhaps anyone could recommend a good rp shell?

Don't feel shunned! We're glad to have you. My recommendation for RPLS's or FC's would just be to browse the Linkshell tab. You can also visit some of the places listed in this thread to see the shells in action and maybe see where your style meshes!

Welcome to the RPC! I second Aysuns' suggestions, taking a look at some of the listed areas in her second link will provide an opportunity to observe many of the groups in their day to day operations, and perhaps you'll have the chance to strike up conversation if any take your fancy.
On the note of meeting people, you can take a look at the Calendar and the Lantern to see what might be coming up. Some events will require you to speak with the host, some not, but they are (by and large) all open to a host of different characters.
If you have the chance and want to fill any gaps in knowledge you feel might need to be addressed I would turn to the wiki for the RPC (linked in the bar along the top). It has some basic lore notes, some character notes and a whole host of information provided and created by members.

PS While I never personally had trouble with 1.0 I do know a few who had their graphics cards chug along with the game, good to hear 2.0 is treating you better.
