Home sweet home (open RP) - Landon - 11-25-2013

The day had been long, hot and overall tiring. A male Miqo'te figure could be made out approaching the gates of Ul'dah. As the man made his way closer, he stopped in his tracks to look up to the giant city, "Ah home.. It's been sometime hasn't it?" A smirk crept to the corner of his lips as he continued through the gates.

Loud, busy and full of life. It was just how he remembered it. Kids running through the streets playing, merchants pedaling their wares, and of course your random street performers all over. The man'a name was Landon, he looked around as he stood still just inside the gates, memories of his own childhood rushing through his thoughts. "Who would've thought that such a lovely and lively city can be cruel and unforgiven when night falls?" He said to himself. Shrugging his shoulders his proceeded to make his way through the streets.

The streets were crowded, more than usual actually. It seemed as if he were the stranger in his own home town. So many new faces that he was unfamiliar with, but he could tell the visiting faces by their attire and even by their mannerisms. As his eyes searched the streets and his mind wandered, he would be brought back to reality by a young boy slamming into his leg.

"Ouch!" The boy yelled out.

"Sorry about that little guy, I didn't see you there." Said Landon. The young boy looked up to him with a frown, "we'll watch where you're going next time!" He demanded of Landon before getting ready to run off once more.

Just before getting out of Landon's reach, Landon reached out an grabbed him by the collar "Oh no you don't!" Landon said to the boy.
He held his hand out waiting for the boy to return his pouch of Gil. "You're better off trying that on one of the tourist over there."

The boy lifted the pouch up and dropped it in Landon's palm. As he dropped the boy to his feet the boy looked up to him, "How'd ya know?" He asked.

"Well let's just say I've been there." Landon replied while reaching into the pouch and tossing the boy some Gil, "just ask next time." Landon said while giving him a wink. The boy smiled while running off with the coin in hand.

"Time for a drink." Landon said to himself while walking in the direction of The Quicksand.

As he approached the doors of the tavern, he placed his hands in the solid wooden frame and pushed it open. The smell of ale an the sight of drunken patrons filled the room. A smile coming to his lips as he walked through the doors, "some things never change do they?" He said to himself as he pushed through the drunken crowd and made his way to a rare empty seat.

Leaning back in his chair he folded his arms over his chest and watched the antics of the drunken patrons, still smiling and saying out loud, "feels good to be home."
