If you ever decide to move to Balmung give me a poke! I am very new to RPing myself and have less than a year experience under my belt so I know how nerve racking it can be diving in it, but it gives games soooo much more depth.  I remember when I first started I had the hardest time not saying peoples names (because they were right over their head!) when they did not introduce themselves yet xD. RE: :) - Siha - 12-10-2013 The pink text is a message sent specifically to you, I'm not sure what it does on PC but I know on PS3 it makes a very loud sound to let you know you received one. I believe you can just /r and type out your reply to answer someone who talked to you last or you can /tell Firstname Lastname to message them back too! It can be intimidating at first, but don't be afraid to ask questions. Most roleplayers are only too happy to share their knowledge. I think as a gladiator you will make many friends. I was a bit swamped yesterday so my apologies for not providing a few resources earlier, hopefully you'll still find some use in them! While it won't really help you "dive right in" I think it does aid in getting a firm grasp of some ideas that make FFXIV roleplay a bit different, as well as helping to identify the different kinds of roleplay and players you'll find out there. But you want dive in and boy howdy do I have some dive in ready groups. As a note, I don't like to plug IC communities unless a specific criteria is presented (eg. I LIEK PIRATES.) so instead i'll offer up some OOC ones that will hopefully help you integrate and find a nice niche for yourself out there in the wide world. Scattered across Eorzea, this is a great place to find where exactly people are, what exactly they are doing and if they might be open to a little company. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=5045 "Balmungs Finest" is a PVE grouping group, or to be more specific, a lot of people, myself included have a desire to place grouping server first, to promote getting to know each other through parties progressing through content just as much as talking and roleplaying. This also, with time, helps cut down on the "this is hard i'm leaving" after a single death. Speed runs are fine (Twelve I enjoy them.) but content can be rough, and its disheartening to feel as though a single slip causes everything to shatter. I'M LOOKING AT YOU AURUM VALE!!!
