Yup, that's about right.

She'll try to create as much space as possible between her and the person who tried to touch her. And prob. look at them as if they were tired of life.

Hawu is fine with it, though she's more reluctant to touching others over half the time. I'd say she has a bubble and if you aren't welcome in it there will be the horribly ego-shattering moment of her literally picking up your hand and gently placing it by your side.

Makes my stomach churn.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Kou - 03-02-2015

K'washi is... well. I haven't quite thought about it in great detail.

For the most part, he seems to be pretty much A-Okay with touch and receiving touch. He gets a little weird if people (aside form his mate) hug him or pet him or whatever else it is people do to him, but there's really no aversion to the average touch.

Now, if someone tries to touch his neck, that is a problem. He'll back away (skillfully or not). If permission is sought, he'll let it happen but be pretty tense about it. If it's a perceived threat, however, he goes straight into Fight-or-Flight mode.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - X'shah Zinbhe - 03-02-2015

Considering her harsh background on the illegal gladiatorial circuit, Kimah is hesitant to engage in battle. She'd like to live another day after a decade of struggling for her life.

That said ... this is the only subject & point of contention that will provoke violence out of her. She's not out of her gourd so she'll give a strong, aggressive verbal warning if anyone invades her space or touches her without her prompting. If they don't heed it or try to act cutesy (I get a lot of characters who are childlike sticking their tongue out at her who try to play the victim when she takes a swing) she'll definitely knock them down a peg, then probably leave. When she holds a grudge, she holds onto it for a very long time, so it's not good to cross this boundary if someone wants a cordial relationship with her. I guess anything that she specifically asks someone to stop doing and they keep doing it, it usually means the potential of being cordial with her drops to 0.5% at that point, and she doesn't abide anyone annoying to her -- so maybe I'm overstating it.

Kimah's also a hypocrite and full of paradoxes; while she doesn't do this often, she'll violate her own boundaries and touch someone else if she feels it is important. Ex: Someone walking off to do something that will take their life, et cetera. This doesn't come up often. If someone did this to her, she'd knock their gonads back up into the indentation they came out of.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Klynzahr - 03-06-2015

Being a rough and tumble tomboy has given Klyn a pretty high tolerance for physical touch. She will casually dispense shoulder slaps, sucker punches, and even hair tousles to anyone she is acquainted with, although she is conscious enough to restrain herself around strangers or folks she has just met. On the receiving end, she is comfortable with most friendly touch but doesn't hesitate to tell someone if they get too rough or uncomfortably flirtatious.

Iyrnahct used to be quite similar. However age has softened the fellow up and made him far more conscious of his size and strength. He won't touch most smaller races (basically anyone) unless they initiate first.

On the other hand Dani tends to be wary of contact. Her military bearing and no-nonsense mannerisms, don't invite physical touch. So when it does happen, her first response is always shock followed by an extremely awkward pat on the head or shoulder. She then attempts to extricate herself promptly and redirect the ''offender's'' attention.

I guess I have both extremes covered Tongue

It depends with Yuki. If it is someone she knows well enough, she'd be a little bit more okay with it verse strangers. If it was a stranger, she'd probably freak out and quickly. Not like screaming and hollaring at them but would quickly break out into nervous shakes and would use an excuse to move away. Really, she is just overly shy and isn't use to physical contact!

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Kellach Woods - 03-13-2015

Hm.

Kell loves to be touched. I don't mean that in a dirty way either. Someone spontaneously hugging him would find themselves in a warm embrace as well. He's not likely to initiate that - he knows that not everyone wants that, and he'd rather keep the boundaries intact in case of people who are not comfortable, but those who have shown a propensity for casual touching, he will certainly do so!

Cwinuwil is wary of touches. He's been shown many ways to poison someone with a single touch, and people invading his personal space is a huge problem ever since his days on Pearl Lane. He'd sooner shank or knee someone in the genitals than let them get close unless he decided it was safe.

Sasati certainly would initiate and quite roughly. We're talking about a girl who joined the Gladiators' Guild because she found Gladiators were hot. That she loves showing herself is what makes her a money-making, entertaining gladiator rather than one who could rise up to the top. Ass smackings is very likely when this lalafell is around.

Sylvie is... well, not exactly trusting of many people. Her chosen weapon of the spear is around where she wants to keep others until they pierce her defenses. She's trying to overcome them herself, but it's taking quite some time, and with the hidden machinations, real or imagined, of those she encounters, that trust will not be so easily gained.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Aaron - 03-13-2015

Aaron doesn't care. People touch him all the time, whether it's running through his hair, squeezing his arm, or even the odd hug or two. He just stands there and looks at the person. He might ask why they touched him or what was the point but he's not gonna throw a giddy fit unless you like hit him or something in the face.

Now with touching other people is a different story.

Aaron doesn't touch or get close to people covered in blood, in skimpy clothing, extremely dirty, or anything similar. He is a clean freak.

- He also has odd quirks when it comes to varying species. He has a habit of scratching Miq'ote females behind the ears to see if they purr (some have even fell asleep. Aaron got them magic fingers yo.) He pokes hyur Midlanders in the forehead and pushes them (think Itachi thumping Sasuke). With Elezen he might poke stare at their legs wondering why they're so long.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Leanne - 03-17-2015

Leanne is highly affectionate! Hugs, petting, squeezing someone's shoulder or arm! She doesn't mind doing such, or being target of these affections.

Don't try kissing her though. Forehead and cheeks sends her into stammer town, and lips is a straight [sup]runningfarawaynokissthankyousorrynotsorrybye[/sup]

Sazhi'to doesn't exactly mind handshakes or a brief pat on the arm or shoulder,  but he does prefer to stick to bowing. Physical contact with anyone for him is a sign of deep trust from him, and aside from K'hane there are only perhaps a half dozen people wirh that level of trust. Public displays of affection used to bother him even when they didn't involve him, but now he simply flushes and looks politely away.

Mholi takes her personal space deadly seriously. Unwanted contact of any kind is likely to start a fight, verbal or physical, and particularly if the offender is male. Paradoxically if she trusts someone enough to touch them herself, she hardly bats an eyelash at even being hugged in public.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Mercurias - 03-17-2015

M'sato is very cautious about being touched because it makes him anxious. He was physically abused as a child, and a level of trust needs to build before he can do that comfortably. He doesn't react violently, and normally he doesn't even mention it. He'll just tens up and try to brush your hand off without hurting your feelings.

All that being said, he also views touch as a big comfort factor when someone he trusts is the one doing it. You'll know he trusts you not to hurt him when he lets you touch him casually without tensing up (after he sees it's you). You'll know he trusts you IMPLICITLY when he lets you touch his ears without comment, because his mother used to grab him by the ears and drag him out of the tent when she decided he'd disappointed her. That provokes an immediate fight or flight response to this day.

Sato's ultimate concept of how to comfort a person is giving a hug. He almost never tells why.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Boo the Hamster - 03-27-2015

Enju will not get along with anyone he deems a stranger if they decide to touch him.  He doesn't mind touching in and of itself, but it requires him at least knowing someone.  Shoulder pats and the like are something he's used to and sees it as a sign of camaraderie between himself and others.  Those close to him he'll often hug for comfort or squeeze along the shoulders to keep them steady.

Touching his hair however, is something of a personal insult to him, and is reacted to with hostility unless it is someone close, or is forced to 'deal with it', which he'll find utterly humiliating.

Not because of flashbacks or anything, but because of a very high degree of possessiveness over her own body.

This pretty much sum's up Thrysa... Save for her own reasons and there's only a select few she trusts enough to let lay a hand on her.

Prepared to get your hand swatted or a dislocated jaw... depending on mood.

However this does not include combat for her, still doesn't like it, but she's honestly to focused on the spar or blood shed to really care.

Kanaria on the other hand... I believe we all know that she adores most attention and blushes to almost anything. Though Ossy and Miqo'te always get the better reactions from her.

He doesn't like being touched unless it's someone he really, really likes.

RE: How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch? - Nicholas Graveshire - 03-28-2015

Nick is pretty respectful about people's personal space if they're respectful to his. He deals with a lot of sick or injured people, so he knows exactly what he's throwing himself near, but he likes to keep people at arms length or more if he can help it.
