When in Gridania ((Open!)) - MrPoopyButtHole - 06-06-2014 Pyralissat in the Carline Canopy in Gridania drinking his seventh ale. He wanted tonight to be memorable in case he didn't make it...In case it all ended in a couple of days. The tavern was busy and many people were already sloshed as it was. Pyralis finished his remaining ale with one last big gulp and let out a loud burp to announce to Eorzea he was ready. If he was going to die he had to squeeze in one last bar fight. One last big brawl that all throughout the land would talk about for ages. The bard sat back in his chair and stared at the entrance of the tavern. The next person that walked through that door was going to get the fight of their life. A bar fight that they will later say was one of the greatest fights of their life. A fight so great they might become best friends after, or arch enemies. Pyralis ordered his last ale with a ting of spiciness to it. Man, woman, creature of the void...come meet the exiled bard. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Dresden Voltaire - 06-06-2014 "Elm logs. Perish the grand thought that Mother Miounne's chairs be equipped with any sort of lumber than elm." First Momodi and now the keeper of the Carline Canopy had eagerly jumped upon Dresden's aid once it was known that he picked up the saw for more gil. Carpentry was hardly a tradeskill he was interested in but after nights spent running around Eorzea finding a fitting repairer for his shoes, such luxuries could no longer be afforded to him. No, even he was not dastardly enough to charge himself for shoe repairs. That wouldn't be the moral thing to do. He sauntered into the Canopy, Chocobotail Saw strapped to his belt like an overgrown blade with teeth and three bags of perfectly cut dark lumber draped over his leatherbound shoulder. There was pride to be had in his rather remarkable skill at carpentry and no matter how mundane it was, pride was a great sin that Dresden eagerly used whenever he had the chance. Let the Wood Wailers look on with envy and bitterness towards foreigners who did better than them, taking supplies from their lands! Many of the Canopy's inhabitants seemed less inhibited than usual today. What drunken slogs. He expected a bit more culture in Gridania as opposed to, you know, Ul'dah. One gentleman had burped so loudly that even the drunks turned their heads from such disgusting display. Dresden was one such person, his scarred eye zooming in on the man in thinly veiled displeasure. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Mage - 06-06-2014 A young Miqo'te woman walked into the bar, she truly disliked coming down but as it was the only way to get to the airships, she had very little choice. Her arms were full with a couple of boxes. each holding items from herbs to weapons that she had to confiscate from her mother. "Oh...i wonder if I could grab a quick bite..." she wondered to herself, though the loud burp that echoed though the room was sure to turn her away in an instant. Though....it was a bar. She quickly looked for a clean table to sit and lay her things down. and when finding one off to the corner she sped walked over and sat down. sighing briefly before wondering if she really should grab a bit. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Lady Rivienne - 06-06-2014 Saturated from the rain earlier, an exhausted Elezen settled herself against the creaking chair, sitting in solitude while nursing a wound. Golden eyes settled on a particular figure that had been drinking far too much without much restraint, but he was quickly dismissed when her wine bottle was presented to her. Tired shoulders were rolled backwards and her calloused fingers rubbed the back of her neck before waiting for her glass to arrive; it appeared that the waitress this evening was particularly anxious, or perhaps nervous, from the denizens inside. The smell of alcohol permeated into the ambient, mostly from the man who let out a belch that jolted a few of the guests from their drunken stupor. Her lips twitched into a smirk, but her attention was mostly to the fair maid that hurriedly rushed to the Elezen's side to deliver the glass she had been patiently waiting for. It was unfortunate that others were left to bear witness to such vulgar behavior, especially the two that happened to venture within. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - MrPoopyButtHole - 06-06-2014 Pyralis saw his two targets but had trouble deciding who to engage first. The miqo'te had sat down with a bunch of boxes...on a normal day he'd try to engage her in conversation and offer her the comforts of his room. Today was not a day for pleasures of the flesh, he would be dead soon, he just knew he would be. Aside from that he had too many problems with miqo'te in his life. The Hyur male was already giving him an eye so he'd have to throw the first punch carefully maybe provoke the man first. A thousand scenarios were going over his head as he lifted himself from his stool with an ale in hand and made his way first to the miqo'te. As he staggered to her table he would roughly knock over her boxes with one hand and proceed to make his way to the Hyur while chuckling to himself. As he approached the man he spoke roughly, "Oye mate...I saw you givin' me an awful unfriendly look when you got in." Pyralis would take a long drink and with a mouthful of ale in his mouth he would attempt to spit it in the Hyur's face. If successful he'd simply grin at the man and say, "Welcome to Gridania you ugly bastard." If unsuccessful, he would be prepared to jump back from retaliation of the man. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Merie - 06-06-2014 Meriel let out a sigh as she drank the last of her camomile tea, feeling her muscles relax a bit, delivering boxes of iron ore from Ul'dah to the Leatherworkers' guild in Gridania was a task like no other to her, mainly because she never traveled this far before in her life. "why would leather workers ask for iron ore anyway?" Meriel wondered ,she shrugged dismissing her curious self "what's important is I got paid, I better not dwell on such things". she took out her journal and started writing..or tried to...as a loud burp interrupted her -creative- chain of thought. Meriel fought the urge to look at the source of the noise, if anything, she learnt from her visits to the Quicksand, is to never make eye contact with loud customers, so she decided to not take any chances here either, turning her focus to the empty page on the table before her. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Dresden Voltaire - 06-06-2014 He was zeroed in on. Good. Dresden propped his free hand against his hip, uncaring of the weight of the lumber practically screaming at him to drop. Mother Miounne was watching him from her own little corner of the Canopy, probably making sure he didn't cause a scene... or impatiently waiting for the elm. That was too bad at either rate.  The slovenly gent intended for him, pushing a patron's boxes from the table but Dresden had no care for strangers. All it registered was that the man was looking for trouble and the Black Mage was all too eager to oblige.  "You must have been blind," Dresden purred in response, showing a bit of teeth with intent to threat. "I was merely flirting and imagining you placed over my lap for a good spanking. Your table manners are atrocious."  He was rewarded with a spit of ale to the face. Undaunted, he lightly rubbed a bit of it from his cheek with the swipe of his thumb, grin turning poisonous. "A spanking it is then." Dropping the elm lumber down hard, he had thought he heard Mother Miounne sigh in disappointment when he reached for the scruff of the man's clothing, intending on doing exactly as he threatened. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Mage - 06-06-2014 Tala lifted her head as she heard the commotion. She knew this was either going to escalate very fast or it will be contained by the sober members of the wood wailers. she could only hope for the later. With a quick look around she pushed her things a bit more behind her as to try and secure them better. "I can wait to eat." RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Lamiaris - 06-07-2014 The incredibly dark-blue skinned Miqo'te yawned softly. She ran her finger along the page of her grimoire, mumbling to herself something incoherent. She turned her head towards the book to "look" at the book through her mask. As blind as she was, she could still read, and she felt like she missed something. She shook her head and dismissed the thought. She slid her hairband back into place, frowning once more. Lamiaris closed her book and simply held it at her side now, her free left hand slowly feeling along the wall for the entrance to the tavern. The young woman stepped inside, taking in all of the unique scents of every person that was in there. But surprisingly, it didn't seem that many people were there. "Place is usually crowded.." she said bemusingly. After that she was mostly silent. She found herself a place to sit, at one of the empty tables. She set her grimoire down and soon removed the mask that covered most of her face, revealing white face paint, and heterochromatic eyes. (one's red, the other's purple). She turned her head from side to side briefly, as if looking around before she opened her book again, reading quietly as she ran her fingers along the pages. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - MrPoopyButtHole - 06-07-2014 The man reacted just as Pyralis wanted, although the threat of a spanking was quite odd. The drunken patrons of the tavern decided to keep their eyes on the fight unfolding. Some men even began to take wagers in the far off corner. Pyralis wasn't concerned with any of that. He just wanted to tussle, spill some blood,  and take a few licks. As the man reached to grab Pyralis, the bard would roughly be pulled towards him and attempt to charge at him to take him to the floor. If successful the bard would wrestle with the man on the floor to try and pin him down. Meanwhile two rowdy Roegadyn patrons would start fist fighting and throwing objects everywhere. Who ever was in the tavern might be hit by all the objects flying around. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Dresden Voltaire - 06-07-2014 They say there was never a right way to hit a woman, but the abrasive man sure did attack like one. Almost immediately Dresden was being dragged onto the floor and, in hindsight, he found it almost hilarious given the circumstances of his threats. However, someone of his character absolutely despised being topped... in any way, and therefore such an aggressive act would not be tolerated. With snarl, Dresden had no qualms against pragmatism and cheating his way to victory, the fingers of his free hand reaching to unhook his Chocobotail Saw and do an impromptu paint job of the Canopy's furniture only to find himself fumbling upon the latch. The large tool unhooked itself and clattered away along with the Roes who decided they two must brawl for some reason. It was much too far for him to reach now. "Don't. You. Dare." Dresden growled, realizing that he was being strong armed to defeat instead of physical tact. That, or the guy was seriously interested in his flirts. Too bad voyeurism wasn't on Dresden's menu today. Especially in front of Miounne. He attempted to elbow the other man off of him and tried to connect his fist to the drunkard's face in retaliation. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Lady Rivienne - 06-07-2014  "How splendid," the words spilled from her lips like molasses whilst the commotion began. People were taking bets, Rivienne took notice of that from the corner of her golden-hued eyes. Fingertips danced over the strings of the harp, which had laid dormant above the grooved, wooden surface, of her table.   "--a bit of wine and a show, poor Miounne is going to have quite a mess in her hands," the accented voice was all nearly drowned out by the sound of cacophony now that people were absorbing the adrenaline, and testosterone, that lingered in the air. She ignored such and found it entertaining to simply apply a bit of music into the atmosphere, a serene melody, to counter the ruckus.   Dark lashes fell to half mast whilst watching the original two men begin their squabble; while slender digits strummed at the harp's strings, the other hand deftly swept up a plate that nearly decapitated her. A glare was given to the Roegadyns before the Miqo'te about were given but a light shrug as to say.. 'this could get ugly.' RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Mage - 06-07-2014 An object had flown across the room and skidded across her table causing the small miqo'te to squeak. She backed up against her things then quickly went about hiding under the table. Her frown only deepened as she could not get out to the outside to ask for help. And she knew very well this was not the kind of situation she wanted her siblings involved with. "why couldn't it be a good day?" she asked herself as she reached up on the table for her staff. With a growl she found that it was pushed off by whatever it was the muscle headed drunks of a Roegadyn decided to throw towards her. Tala scanned the room and when she found it decided that crawling on the floor might be safer to get her belongings. And so she went. RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Merie - 06-07-2014 When the situation became dangerous, Meriel decided it's to leave. She returned her journal book inside her bag preparing to stand up, as she stood up she was greeted by a flying chair that one of the drunken Roegadyns found it amusing to throw. Meriel squat barely dodging it, breathing a sigh of relief with her reflexes, she opened her eyes continuing her walk to a safe place. an object tapped her feet, She glanced at it to check where it came from, she noticed a dark skinned miqo'te crawling between the fighting drunkers feet. Meriel held the thrown staff, protecting it from the merciless stomping drunks, she crawled towards the miqo'te, checking every direction before advancing. She dragged her as quickly as possible under the nearest table, although it was challenging she was able to avoid getting hit since everyone was looking for anyone who is standing on his feet looking for a fight "Here you go," Meriel said handing the Miqo'te the staff, giving her a small soft smile "It would've been bad if it got crushed, right? Are you okay?" RE: When in Gridania ((Open!)) - Mage - 06-08-2014 Tala's eye's brightened as she was handed back her staff. "yes, thank you," she grinned. "i..i'm fine, and if i do get any injuries i'm sure to heal them...you, you didn't get hurt did you?" she asked. She was glad to be under a table, it was somewhat protective, though she will have to make a crawl back to her belongings, or at least keep an eye out, then demand that who ever broke them pay her in full for the damage. |
