Iceheart didn't do anything wrong, though. Her people are the opponent in a political war and she's being targeted specifically because of what she represents. Just outright icing her (teehee) would be a solution, sure, but when you just shove people into TVs without looking closer you never find out who the real killer is, or why.

Yes, but the rabbit hole turns into an abyss. Let's be honest - we're playing characters who walked up to primals and punched them in the face - literally, for those of us playing Monks. Frankly, we didn't need Ishgard's permission for anything. Here's how it could have been in the MSQ:

Holy See: "Your airship's in the Stone Vigil. But we're not letting you in there."

PC: "I pick my teeth with Garuda's pinions, keep Titan's little toe as a pet rock, use Ifrit's junk to light my barbecue grill, and I posed by Svara's twitching corpse. I'd like to see you snow... excuse me, sneaux bunnies stop me."

*marches into Stone Vigil. Kills Dragon. Flies off in Enterprise. Drops Ishgebind's head into the Camp Dragonhead courtyard in a flyby*

Yes, as I said, I am spoiled.

BONUS: Ishgard in two pictures:

Ah, World (and Cloud) of Darkness! The FF3 lovefest concludes, alas! Super-excited for that glorious tanking gear, though.

Oh, tanking a Crystal Tower instance isn't that bad, and certainly doesn't require Coil experience. Smile If they design it like Syrcus, tanking is pretty straightforward once you know what's going to happen.

I can verify this! I managed to take Chachan in basically as soon as he had the iLevel for ST and he was basically fine off-tanking. Remember, it's an Alliance, so there's two other tanks that can potentially take up the MT position if you're not comfortable doing it.

And, since this is gonna be new and people are gonna wants the kills and the gear, you can bet the higher geared tanks will probably be stopping by.

Oh!  Oh this is a CT step!!  Derpsauce!

I've tanked the Labyrinth, looking to do ST first-time later...damn!  I could get to see giant green-faced laser lady!

...provided I have the right iLevel before Heavansward drops. XD

You might manage it when it comes out on the update! I always find my iLevel skyrockets once ST is open to me. It drops i100 gear, and the sand and oils let you upgrade your soldiery-purchased gear up 10 points! And since you'll be the only tank in your group in the Alliance, any tank gear will straight up be yours.

Just gotta get lucky on those drops (and on the rolls for those sands and oils!).

Goddamn. Maybe there's no hardcore content in the patch next week, but there is a BOATLOAD of content regardless.

For those who don't know, the World of Darkness theme is a remake of the "Dark World/Crystal" theme from Final Fantasy 3:

The Labyrinth of the Ancients was the Crystal Cave theme:

Syrcus Tower was the Crystal Tower theme itself (also the only dungeon in the CT series that is actually a Crystal Tower, lol):

RE: FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 2.5 - Before the Fall Trailer - Erik Mynhier - 01-13-2015

Ok from a purely ooc observation, it looks fun. I've been catching up as I finished my crafting push last week. Running the HM dungeons, CT, dipping my toe in Coil. So this stuff looks great, harder, but not to hard. And as a long time FF fan, World of Darkness.... yes please.

As for the story I'm interested in the Ul'dah side, dont think that i am not, but I'm more curious as to how it will effect Flame/Blade/Sworn rpers. Will we get a situation like the early missions where the Blade unit looked bad but it was proven just to be bad apples after which putting the lala in charge made all the difference in Black Brush? Will RPers have to stop painting every Blade as corrupt? Or will it only make that stereotype worse? Obviously the Scion's are kicking Blade ass, but will this story sort of clean house for the Brass Blades?

As for everything else, either Erik (Eorzean) or Erik (real life) is going to have a gambling problem. Because those mini games and the card game really caught my eye. I wanna play Triple Triad like right now.

P.S. That armor the PLD is wearing like 2:30-3:00 minutes into the vid, I think its new, and I love it, a bit ornate, but also simple. Hope there is a good helm in the set.

RE: FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 2.5 - Before the Fall Trailer - TheLastCandle - 01-13-2015

I never played much Triple Triad in FF8. (Then again, I didn't play a ton of FF8 anyway. Maybe the only FF I've only played all the way through once.)

Tetra Master, on the other hand! I saw that sidequest through to the end on FFIX, and played it online when I still played FF11. That game had a lot of rage-quitters. I still have a FFIX save I fire up to play Tetra Master against the computer every now and then to pass some quick time.

Has it been mentioned whether or not we'll be able to play TT against other players?

Lots of awesome stuff...sure the msq stuff would make more sense if I was further along xD (really need to catch up on that quick for rp reasons >n<;; ) but for now I'm excited about the casino (dapper cactuar!!!) and the chocobo racing/breeding O^O

Also can't wait to start getting more into that HM stuff....I've slowly started to run a few things HM already out and it's been pretty fun already Big Grin(

SO EXCITED.

Blind dungeon runs are my favourite dungeon runs. Big Grin

The scarring on the 2.5 title "Before the Fall" looks like the scarring on Raubahn's face. Clearly Raubahn is gonna die. Spoilers.

Idk.

But the HYPE IS REAL!

I was hoping for some new changeposes >_<

World of Darkness, MSQ, and new dungeons are all casual.

In fact there is no hardcore content in 2.5 at all.

Well then, I don't know what word to use for players who, for all kinds of reasons, do not go into dungeons or do MSQ. I meant stuff that did not really require progress, I guess? Town gear, emotes, poses, character creation options and the like.

For reasons that I will not entail (mostly it's a health issue/personal problem of mine, but also involves my RP characters) I currently cannot activate quests above level 28 yet (or obtain gear that would allow me to partake to these newest things without being killed in one shot), so this stuff is kind of out of reach for me at this point. I was hoping for things that did not require progress and gave RP options. But oh well, maybe they're there and just not in the trailer ^^;

At that point what you are asking for is content for people who don't play the game really.

There probably is new little things they are not showing, it usually seems to be the case with the patch trailers.

Also! Reach out to us kind RPC folk! I've been recently of the mind to help people who need a story dungeon run or two (Instance battles and questing in general I probably can't help with but maybe you can get through those well enough anyway!) -- because I know some circumstances disallow them from doing it on their own. If there's anyone who shows interest in helping people like that, poke them!
