Xihsa'li Tayuun

Looking for: Potential clients and business associates for moneylending business! Leaflets such as the one below have been seen spread and distributed all around Limsa Lominsa, in the streets, in shops and in taverns: OOC Information: Lifeboat Financing is an In Character company held and managed by myself, Xihsa'li Tayuun. It is a relatively new company, the offices located in the upstairs of the Red Hibiscus Club on the outskirts of Limsa Lominsa. What am I looking for? What to expect? I'm looking for, primarily, clients wishing to lend money for small everyday investments, paying the bills, or just wanting to get something a little bigger without quite having the full cash on hand right now. In OOC terms, think of payday loans of our world. After you've contacted me, either IC or OOC, we can set up an appointment where we'll discuss the terms of what I'm offering. Whether your character will agree to these terms is up to them and just by showing up, you're not mandated to sign the dotted line. Rather, this initiative is a part of my character's everyday story, so even if you do not accept his terms, I am imagining you as one potential client among many that are in need of such services. In essence, this initiative is an RP hook that any of you can use! Be it clients, be it people interested in partnerships, or just the tax collector, I'm sure we'll be able to work something out that'll give both our characters some pleasant interaction. However... If you end up in a contract with my character and do not pay the loan or its' interest back on time, be prepared for some in-character consequences. The initial consequences will simply be legal pressure, but more severe methods may be used in debt collection. Any such matters will be discussed with the client first OOCly, before anything happens. We're all here to enjoy ourselves the way we want it, which of course both applies to me and the client. Communication is key. Especially when it comes to debt collection, polite and honest communication is absolutely mandatory to ensure a fair and enjoyable outcome. How to get in touch? A little bump here to let everybody know we're still on for tonight, for our first public event! Staff is squeezing in their uniforms, tables are being set and glasses are being polished. We hope to see you there~!

Xih's would probably be a stone room, a study, with rigid walls and bookcases, a single window placed above a desk on one wall. Outside, it always rains, sometimes thunders. There's no rug and only a bare wooden chair by the desk and a fireplace one one side of the room. On the mantle, there'd be a bent and twisted hunter's horn. At first, the place would feel at the same time cold and faintly cozy, dominated by strict lines and order, despite the storm raging outside. If one tried to take a book from the shelves, some would appear old and worn, some new - and when touched some of them would not budge at all, some shackled down onto the shelves. They are the manifestations of his memories, his thoughts, many of them bound and suppressed with the same rehearsed order. When touched by the right person, some would be more responsive. If you tried to take the books off the shelves by force, the entire room would've felt like it was shuddering. It's how I imagine him at least. He's a control freak and has to try and keep himself and others in line through logic and order, getting easily embarrassed over showing emotion or weakness, while disguising far more depth than he lets others see. That, and books have long been his source of solace and peace. There is more symbolism there, but I'll leave them as my own little mystery.

Omega (EU) server reporting over here o/ We have a nice small community alive here. Sadly we don't have an established hub, but we have plenty of people on a community discord server open for roleplay, a number of FCs and weekly rotating tavern roulette events. Of course, if you're looking primarily for US servers, this doesn't really apply. Always worth a shot though.

If they're not an OOC friend... I suppose I'd be careful with it? It's kind of.. yeah, a gray area. I also would hesitate on it. Could always ask them if they're a native speaker, and sort of... round about come to the topic of 'you're' vs 'your'. It's hard, though, if you don't know them that well. You could just chill and try and not be bothered by it, too. Always an option, even if hard.

I'm kind of... 'nazi' on this issue, I guess... I have a lot of understanding for people with dyslexia, and on their case I give them a full pass. But people who just didn't learn to spell? ...Not many sympathy points here. I won't ignore you if you do it consistently, I won't get on your case, but I won't take you seriously either. I'm putting effort into all of my emotes, I put in effort to write as perfect English as I can as a non-native speaker and expressing myself well in RP is part of the whole deal. So if I can take the time to fix my typos -while emoting-, why can't you? Laziness? Lack of motivation to be taken seriously? I don't know. If your English isn't that good, then that's fine. But over time, I think it will improve. At least, ideally, it should. Once again, I am not a dick to those who can't spell, but I do sort of lean back and gravitate towards the people that can. And generally, if the person doing this is my friend... I whisper them and give them the right spelling. I won't do it with strangers, because I know people can be very defensive about things like this coming from people they don't know.
