  1. Oooh! 1 - Moonfire set (female) 2 - Woven rug 3 - Wind-up Tonberry 4 - Bluebird
  2. This all seems like a fantastic idea! I can definitely help out with stuff if you're still recruiting. I've got all 8 slots full on Balmung, but if available slots are limited, I can help out on my main. If you still have slots available, I have a couple alts I don't feel overly confident with their RP classes (Hatsukiku being a prime example; she's a CNJ ICly, but I'm anxious about tackling healing 50+). I've got DRG maxed (i230) on Hana, as well as SMN(i223)/SCH(i180-something) (But I have very little healing experience past about lvl 40 WHM) and am working on leveling and learning all of the classes (currently everything else is lvl 35+). (Although, tanking still makes me nervous) My character are: Hanatsuma Maibito (my main) Hatsukiku Maibito (my secondary main) Swyg Klyng C'sharra Dalkuh Cocori Cori Olina Blacke Miss Cleo (yes, yes, I know, and yeah, she's going to be a healer with plans to grab AST when I get that far) Celeste Lebeau I'd be more than happy to help with whatever roles need filling, going at whatever pace you feel comfortable with.
  3. If you're still looking for RP connections, my secondary "main" (Hatsukiku Maibito) is staying in Gridania, looking to train with the conjurer's guild and would be happy to meet a fellow Doman in the same position.
  4. Hello! I'm wondering if you're still recruiting, and if so, who I would contact to join.
  5. Yay! Thank you for hosting this! 1 - Tender Lamb 2 - Thancred 3 - The Red Baron 4 - Hoary The Snowman (Left off Slepnir because I was gifted that for Christmas. ^^)
  6. You should be able to exchange it for the same title, I think. (Edit) I also just looked it up and the Mew giveaway is a download from Gamestop via their in-store Wifi distribution and not a download code.
  7. So, not too long ago, I made a new account specifically for FFXIV. http://hana-taza.tumblr.com/ It's an OOC blog, multiple characters (at least one from each race), and I'm trying to get more original stuff on there. I've just gotta go through my screenshots and get some more.
  8. I do recommend checking out either X or Y as well if you can. It was pretty neat, especially considering that the region was modeled after France. The story was so-so with it, but overall a solid entry. Also, if you have any of the DS and GBA games lying around, it's worth looking into the Pokemon Bank and seeing what all you can transfer up to Gen 6. And a side-note... You can play the Global Trade System to get the pokemon you want, too. Only ones that may be a bit iffy to get your hands on might be the legendaries through there, but most of the others, you can trade for, easily. (It's how I filled majority of the holes in my Dex after I finished transferring my pokemon from previous games.)
  9. That would be great if we did get a reduction in price. I'd be able to dump some of my Law gear on my retainer and be able to (hopefully) afford to deck her out in the rest of the set. At least, until I start getting Lore gear to give her my Eso gear.
  10. It's okay, I didn't know that at first, either. I ended up paying for transfers 3 times to get all my characters over since a few were on different servers so I could play with different friends. If I'd have known that ahead of time, I'd have made my other RP alts on one server to save myself a transfer fee.
  11. I hope this means that Eso will be a bit easier to get now. I don't run roulettes or dungeons as often anymore, but I do want to finish getting my ilvl up there so I can run content with friends if I wanted to. I've been sitting at i185 for a while now.
  12. Again, thank you for the replies. I've got a much more solid idea of what I'm going to do now.
  13. I do want to point out that, if you do pay for the transfer to Balmung, the FFXIV server transfer is actually what it says; you can transfer up to 8 characters from one server to another at a time for the one transfer fee rather than it being $18 per character. So, if you plan ahead a bit, you can make a few characters and transfer them all at once (if you're into running alts).
  14. Yay! Another one! -Lesser Panda -Bluebird -Wind-up Ifrit
  15. Thank you for the replies, everyone! I think I'm going to tweak around what I want to do a bit, but this all has given me some ideas, but I do have one last question. If someone were to bond with an item, say... a piece of jewelry they were wearing at the time of their death (bonding ceremony ring) and the item were to be recovered, would someone be able to tell that it's been spiritbonded with? I assume it would require some amount of magic inclination to sense the aether held within it, if it's possible.
  16. This actually does help and give me some ideas. Okay, so... Actually doing that would be so far outside of the realms of my character's capabilities, I'm going to look into an alternative way for this, which brings me to my next question. Would it be possible for someone, upon death, to have their will be strong enough to actually bond with an item of their choosing and not just whatever is close by? I remember reading something Sounsyy wrote before: However, the soul, if improperly buried (as in no funeral rites) will seek to remain in this realm. So it may attach itself to the nearest object it can find. This is how we get Aetherially Enhanced weapons, soulbinding, Soul Stones, etc. If it does not do this, it may wind up into a soulkin or revenant, Will-o'-the-Wisp, fireflies, etc. In proper funeral rites, the soul passes on into Thal's Realm (Heaven) where it will remain forever.* EDIT: *Forever, unless, called upon in one of two instances! The 50 ALC quest wherein Severain discovers an alchemical potion to resummon the soul of a dead person. This requires very high quality potions of the essences of being as well as possessing an item the soul in question is bound to. The bound item, in the case of the 50 ALC quest is a wand, acts as a lodestone (much like an aetheryte) for the soul to return to. The second method... is being summoned like a primal. Boom. Said it. With enough aether (crystals) to fully construct a new corporeal form, a soul might be recalled from Thal's Realm through fervent prayer and resummoned in a new body of aether. However, as the soul is not truly part of this realm, it cannot persist and maintain form unless it feeds on a constant supply of aether. Such was likely the same problem with why Severain was only able to recall his lost love for a few brief moments. His concoction worked, but the soul lacked the aether necessary to sustain itself in the physical plane. The character/person in question who will have died isn't anyone of spectacular ability, but I'd guess if their will to "live" is enough, they could stick around (their body was not properly sent off or given funerary proceedings; more of an empty grave marker since their body was inaccessible) and possibly bond themselves to an item of some sort (possibly one of a loved one)? Or, would I be wrong in saying that?
  17. I did, but I seem to be blanking on what... Or... Is this about Y'shtola? (edit) Sorry, I'm just trying to think. Y'shtola wasn't actually dead, though. Unless you're referring to Thordan maybe? But, with that, I thought it was similar to when Ysayle "summoned" Lady Shiva.
  18. Would it be possible for someone's "soul" (aether/life energy) to stick around and not have something like that happen? If the creation myth with Midgardsormr is to be believed, people's energy returns to the lifestream when properly sent off, and heads back to Silvertear to enter the aetherial realm, but, I'm just wondering if it's possible to retrieve someone's "soul" from the lifestream, or aetherial realm, intact, or alternatively, housing someone's life energy/soul/aether within something, as in forcing it into a containment item of some sort similar to how it would cling to items like gear and soulstones at the time of their death? I mean, yes, there's the two options of "summoning" via the alchemical potion for the person to briefly come back, and then the other option, which is summoning them via aether and crystals, much like a Primal, or... exactly like a primal (but, iirc, the person who would be summoned wouldn't be able to stick around for very long without a near unlimited source of aether to keep their newly created body around, plus the fact that "they" wouldn't really be them but just an image of them based on the memories of whoever called them forth). And, to ask further, is it possible to transfer someone's energy from an item, like aetherial gear or a soulstone, or some other such item the spirit has bonded to, back to a being or body?
  19. Aww, I was kinda hoping for some special food items to place in houses or party-popper/fireworks things. Oh well.
  20. Oooh! How generous! -Owlet -Thav Set -Lord of Levin Lamp
  21. For me, I'm not going to enter an IC relationship unless I've spent some time talking OOC with the person behind the character and know things aren't going to get weird. I'm in a happy long term relationship and have only had 2 IC relationships.in games. Neither one was super hot and heavy, but more cute and fun, which I find much more enjoyable. I'll take light hearted, friends become awkward and flirty and fool around but still have adventures and other fun hijinks any day over heavy romance.
  22. This looks like it would be a lot of fun, I'm sad I missed it. I look forward to any future ones, though.
  23. Thank you all for welcoming me! I've been mostly doing some basic in character meet ups with someone I met at the Moonfire Faire event that happened a week or two ago with the swimsuit contest and drinking contest and such, plus the occasional run-in with someone while out and about. I'm still a bit nervous to take on anything too large at the moment. I've attended a few different events but was too scared to participate. Currently I'm in a free company with a few friends and we're mostly learning the basics of RP together and working on our characters, maybe having some small run ins with each other in character. Also, thank you for the link to the role-playing handbook. I'll look that over soon.
  24. Hello everyone! I started playing this game just shy of three months ago and have been working my way through the main story with my main when I was still on Lich, but made an alt and transferred her to Balmung not too long ago for the RP. I've done tabletop role-playing before, but am new to role-playing through an Mmo. Some aspects seem easier to me while others are quite different. I'm currently working on an article on the characters wiki here for my character, Hanatsuma Maibito. Anyway, I'm hoping to get to know some of you in the game and play with you all. I've just been working on leveling up at the moment on Balmung to make getting around a bit easier.
