  1. They said that they're planning to have server transfers around mid-September.
  2. I did what you suggested and I don't see the digital rights. My issue might be that I have 2 orders for that email (I bought a PS3 copy for a friend of mine) but it shows both orders. I'm just not seeing the information you're talking about.
  3. After reading this wonderful thread about time measurements I've learned that the Eorzean calendar year has 384 days, 19 days more than our year (except for leap year). I've always personally been a fan of saying that one RL day = one day in the game, and that way I can keep a nice record of what my character did and when she did it. However I've only done that on games that have had 365 days in their calendar. I was wondering what most people were going to do. Personally I don't mind the extra days, if that means that in two years celebrating new years will be in February then so be it. But I'd love to know what other people think!
  4. Finally got some screenshots this last test!
  5. A subforum is coming soon. Regardless we wouldn't want such posts in the threads on the subforum. Besides, when I make these threads I am and will be very specific who I am talking to. I'm a bit confused on a few levels here. I understand that there are some people reminding you that this site is mostly for Balmung and I could understand not wanting reminders like that on a sub-forum for Gilgamesh. That just wouldn't make sense. However I wouldn't want people to feel like they're split into groups on the forums just because of there server choice, especially because some people are going to be rolling on both. If there's a cool thread on the Gilgamesh site I think that the people on Balmung should feel free to comment on it and vice-versa. Also, if you want your threads to be towards only specific people I'd suggest keeping it to PMs. With the exception of closed RP threads, I'm pretty sure anyone can post in any thread that they like. They just need to be civil and follow the rules!
  6. More GW2 people? Cool cool! I'm still planning to play there while doing FF stuff but I'm glad to see some people coming over. As for the servers, I'm completely new to FF and I'll be on Balmung! I'm not realy in a position to recommend one or the other though since, like I said, I'm pretty new.
  7. I personally think that those that specialize and focus in one particular area are going to be more proficient in it on nearly all levels compared to someone that studied a bit of everything, or several things. You sacrifice focused talent for all-around versatility. In my opinion, one isn't better than the other. They're just different! I'd make sure that both the people that have their characters focus on one discipline and those that don't bear that in mind. No matter what each has strengths and weaknesses!
  8. I absolutely adore the concept of a linkshell/free company taking a tavern/other business with 0-2 NPCs and saying that it's their own. In GW2 there was an unnamed tavern called the Golden Sun and groups RPd that they owned it and ran it. While the most competent person/group didn't always run it, having someone there providing staff really brought the place alive. It wasn't just a few people in an empty room talking to an NPC bartender, there was RP between two PCs, which makes a huge difference. I was the level 3 running around with Toxa (sprinting most of the time actually to get the mobs away from me) and we found all sorts of empty buildings. It would be a shame to see them be only empty buildings. I think that linkshells/free companies should use what the game has given us and establish things, but like the Golden Sun example they should be for the community. That, in my opinion, is a really good way to avoid butthurt over establishing yourself in a particular location. If it's a base their establishing then the community ICly knows where to find members of that LS/FC and they can go to them if they're in need of the services that LS/FC provides. If they're establishing some sort of business then members of the community can really feel immersed in the world. Be it a tavern, restaurant, or even that awesome hot springs that we found outside of LL, having someone run something like that makes the world truly come alive, and it's fun for both parties. Eventually housing will come out but having people use buildings in the world will give RP-PVE some real life and it's a fantastic alternative for the LS/FC that don't have enough gil to pay for something of their own. I don't think it should be tossed aside because some people may get bees in their bonnet if someone took the space they wanted first. There's always a way to share if people are reasonable and willing to talk OOC, and if that doesn't work out I guarantee that if you look a little bit more you'll find a place even better!
  9. Another quick question! I'd like to make a conversion chart for dates but I can't find the current year in the game IC nor consistent info on dates (some sites I found said 1 month = 6 weeks but on the game I could have sworn each month was just the standard 4 weeks). Which way is it, and what year is it? Anyone know?
  10. I think that variety is awesome when it comes to characters, but I don't think that people should feel less awesome about their RP because they play someone generally seen as 'pretty' or better because they're breaking the norm. Most of the NPCs in the FF series look extremely pretty/clean/etc no matter what they're going through, so it's not like it's just player characters doing this. Me personally, I've always enjoyed playing a character that I find visually appealing.
  11. Does it work for /sleep too? Can you sleep on beds or couches or other objects of furniture?
  12. Is there a chance that they'll still have another job at launch? They announced Scholar at E3 which wasn't very long ago. In my opinion it would be very strange to launch without a greatsword. I'd have to do a significant amount of digging to find a fantasy MMO that doesn't have a greatsword.
  13. Is there a wrong/lorebreaking answer? I'm trying to choose between a name for one of my old alts like Agrimony or Glitra, or something overly girly such as Cupcake or Lulu. Because I'd love to see a chocobo named Lulu decked out in crazy armor pecking and clawing things to death.
  14. Thank you so much for posting this! I've been guessing on most (okay, all) of the names.
  15. I haven't quite fleshed out Ophelia's personality fully, but yeah, this fits:
