Decorated Hero Found Dead in Mor Dhona
It's a shocking state of affairs when murders occur daily in the city-states, but when aÂ
decorated member of the Immortal Flames is found dead, it makes one wonder the price to our humanity that the horrible way of life is taking.Â
Flame Commander John Roath, or 'Ironman' as he was known to friends, was found hanging from the ceiling of one of the store-rooms in the recently opened 'House of Splendors' in Mor Dhona. All signs seem to point to suicide - a chair tipped from under the man, no signs of him being forcibly bound, and no wounds. All this begs the question though: Who or what drove this honourable man to suicide?
Several witnesses report seeing a couple clad in dark robes enter the House and leave again no more than a bell before the body was found. Was it a domestic dispute? A former lover who came to deliver scornful words that drove this man to his end? Fellow Flames members said that the man had no lovers or companions, so perhaps the darkly robed figures have a more shadowy involvement.
Unfortunately, with Mor Dhona gathering focus, Dhoman immigrants and adventurers flowing through daily, the figures may never be seen again. All this reporter can do is wonder why this man chose to commit suicide, and why not openly murdered.
With all the guards looking out to protect to growing settlement, the dangers and fears of imperials and monsters from the wild, it makes you wonder if anyone is looking in, protecting the people from what might come inside.
