Good evening to you all! I'm new to FFXIV, only been playing for a few days now on Balmung. I chose Balmung because that seemed to be where most of the RP'ers are. I like it, much different from FFXI.

I have a little RP experience but I love it! Creating back story, setting up story lines, anything where we can flex a little creative muscle is fantastic. I read a lot of comic books and always try to think of better origins for the characters. It's silly but it's fun! Anyway, when I do RP I guess you could say it's heavy. IC all the time.

My main character is a Duskwight Elezen named Silvaire Deresnels. I'm still working on a back story for him every chance I get. I have another character that I made mostly because the Miqo'te are so damn cute. Probably won't RP her though.

I will end it. I feel as though I might start rambling anytime. See you all in game hopefully.

This is a short overview of the RPC itself, providing a little bit of info on each of the major tools (linkshell hall, wiki, etc.)

That is a lengthy Roleplay Handbook made available by Eva, while most of it might cover information you already know, I think the organization and chance to get another viewpoint on some areas can be helpful when establishing how you want to deal with things (be they people, events or mechanics.)

"Intermission" is an OOC hub for the RPC and serves as a way to get to know your fellow roleplayer before you even meet them IC. Get to know where people are, what they're up to, maybe ask if you can partake in an event or two.

"Balmungs Finest" is centered around just that, grouping for PVE on a Balmung first mentality, only turning to the duty finder when there's no other option. With two linkshells and cross requests between them, if you're looking for some one to fill a spot, you'll have a pretty good chance here.

Those are a few of the major things... Please know that you can ask questions, voice concerns and make comments without thinking you might miss-step here at the RPC, no one starts out knowing everything about the world they're partaking in and there are plenty of people here that i'm sure would be able to provide a bit of information here and there.

Comic books were my first love to storytelling! Â I thought I was alone in trying to come up with character's origin story... Although some like the X-men I had to go back to all the old issues to discover everything that had been written about them (the original members I mean) and I loved it!

Welcome to Balmung! Â RPing in an MMORPG is a new experience for me as well, but now I have discovered a new way to enjoy a game that I long thought I had grown tired of. Â

Also, I perused through quite a few character wiki pages before I formulated my own character's background. Â So you may get some ideas there. Â Although there are a LOT Of character profiles, be warned!
