The Gods were clearly not on his side. The rain began to pour heavily in the shroud as Pyralis finished covering the grave of the Elezen woman of his past. Taking a body from Ul’dah to the Shroud had not been an easy task. Pyralis was still hurting all over from the torture from before and could hardly put any pressure on his damaged leg. He wore a heavy cloak to hide his injuries and face least someone recognize him. He leaned against the large tree and looked up as the rain pelted his face. How can one move on from the past when it is constantly bleeding into the future? Pyralis thought while shifting his attention to the grave.
Â
The forest was peaceful even with the heavy rain hammering it from above. Hopefully it would clear up and he could make his way to the Quarrymill. The ex-bard had decided that he had spent too much time away from his harp and bow. He tried to run from the past and change himself but it still caught up with him. While the act of killing the Elezen woman had not bothered him, her last words left him disturbed.
“We were your family. Why did you betray us? Desmarius knows the monster he left behind.†The Elezen whispered before he had crushed her wind pipe.
Pyralis pulled his gaze away from the grave and thought of Yangh and Sarah. They had witnessed him kill and had almost heard the Elezen tell more of his secrets. They had abandoned him after that, possibly for good. The lies were starting to catch up to him. The façade he built around himself was starting to crack and crumble. Assassins, kidnapping, torture, and now this…you better get the bow first. Pyralis thought pushing himself off the tree and pulling the cowl down further. Hopefully he wasn't being followed…hopefully no one saw him bury the girl. He proceeded on his way taking one last glance at the grave and thought, Ghost of the past…try to stay buried this time, alright?
