So August Lansborough just got his first (hair cut). Though his hair is now longer. I miss his old hair already but I want his hair to change throughout the stages of his character plot unfolding. It still has one more lengthening to endure, then a deep cut, then finally the prevailing return to his starting hair and my final job decision.

Eager to get back to his usual hair I'll endure what I must for the sake of RP. On that note, anyone have any stories of any kind, be they crazy or benign, about the things they've done just to promote RP?

Well here is a more embarrassing note for those of you who might need a little help taking the flush from those cheeks:

[August once walked around town in nothing but the underwear brief like armor, subligar and asked many people to shake his hand despite the fact he was only wearing those and some thigh length sabatons.
This was the consequence of losing a bet and the only way to free himself of this task was to get someone to shake his hand without being bribed or told the truth.

Needless to say it was a humiliating experience ending with many scornful glares until he accidentally stumbled upon this sites very own Blue. He was able to get dressed, get out of the rain and make a friend! A friend who later used this story to insinuate something terrible to her companion Blade.]

I once waited three real-life weeks to upgrade Kiht's IC weapon from an old Feathered Harpoon to a Yarzonshell Harpoon because I wanted S'janna Rahz to ICly make it for me.

The difference in our time zones and play times made it really hard to meet up, and I almost gave up on the idea, but we finally were able to meet. And she crafted an HQ one for me.

The weapon wasn't expensive on the markets. I could have easily spent the 4k for an HQ one. But, no. I resisted the urge to buy the thing for three weeks because I wanted an IC Miqo'te weapon crafter to make it. I wanted there to be meaning behind my IC weapon.

While Kiht now has several IC weapons she uses in RP, I still have a few RP gear-sets with that purple Yarzonshell Harpoon. If you ever see me with it, examine me, and look at the stats of my weapon. At the very bottom you'll see the name of the character that crafted the weapon. S'janna Rahz Smile

And it was a fun RP too! I'm really glad we were able to catch up and do it... was totally worth it from my end, too! And it was nice ICly for Janna to meet a Keeper that she didn't want to throttle @_@

I think i'm too dedicated in rp. Like, for example, Caen was shoved off one of the high walls of Camp Dragonhead and then a Goobbue got ahold of him and brought him to his cave because he liked the colour of his clothes. Because of the initial impact and the cold weather, it was discovered that he couldn't move his legs or tail. I actually sat him in the same bed he was brought to until he was able to get a really skilled healer to ment the spinal damage. . . which lasted like. . . a week and a half I think? He only moved when someone carried him somewhere else.
There was another time SOMEONE dumped a bucket of water over him to wake him up, then walked off. So Caen was shivering in the nooks of Pearl Lane trying to get warm when people found him and I made a few friends. Nothing too crazy, but I rped like that for a good bit. I'll shoot off emotes even when no one is around, just for my own entertainment~
I honestly like dedication in rp as if makes the rp feel all that more real to me~ There are, of course, players that wanted me to just have some magical npc walk in after an hour and make him all better. . . but in my eyes that would be kinda lazy. I dunno. I like that you did such agonizingly embarrassing stuff on your character! >.< I dunno if I could do anything like that, and I'm super hardcore about rp dedication.

Three real life weeks, that is some serious dedication there. More serious than worrying about hair, but it sounds like it paid off. If I run into you I'll be sure to ask you to let me look at the gear, it's actually a really nice tribute/indication in my opinion.

----

Yep, embarrassing was fun. Especially since there were a few people who actually replied ICly in a disturbed fashion. I was lucky Blue was so naive. Though I also give you serious dedication, Like I did to knight for your time enduring just for the sake of RP. I love stories that come from these efforts.

-----

Just today while aiding my friend Rivienne we did some quests but did it all in RP form at Forgotten Springs. Even when we did fates, or fates occurred in the middle of talking and literally happened on top of us we were caught in the stampede of worms and engaged the enemy, yelling at each other mid combat until we cleared the trouble and complained that the town doesn't get a break.
I'd like to think I'm almost always IC, even if I'm OOC a simple greeting flicks IC on for me.
(To add in, Rivienne RP'd being hot and tired from wearing leather in the desert while he removed layers or shivered when night came and it became cold.)
The little things that seem real make RP nice.

Final one for this post, while resting after said worm invasion August folded his arms behind his head and noticed the smell of his pits and cringed before folding them over his chest instead. Real, a little unpleasant and all too fun with people to RP with.

I'd love to run into you guys and RP some time.
