I just thought I'd say this but.... is it impossible to make a character on Balmung? I've literally spent hours trying to make a character but the not available sign is really starting to annoy me.Â

At this rate it will most likely have to be a character transfer from the looks of it.

Unfortunately the state of affairs regarding our realm popularity -and- population make creating a character from scratch a pain. I would recommend transfering - if only for the ease of doing so, but if you're committed to building from the ground up, you could always try to create a character just after maintenance, or immediately prior to.Â

(But seriously. It's gonna be a headache trying to do it on the weekends, and I would assume you've tried to play the field from 3-5AM. I personally had to dip into my wallet to bring two guys over, but it was -well- worth the cost. I'd suggest making more than one alt if you're planning or even think you might have need for more than one character. Cheers and good luck!)

Currently, character creation is pretty hard. Very little chances of success* in being on when the <3 min window opens and the easiest thing to do is to transfer. However, at the moment (this is like the last day), if you have a character on a world in the Chaos Data Center, you can transfer that character to Balmung for free.

Additionally, if you plan on having more than one character on Balmung, you can create those multiple characters on the same world as the one you plan to transfer to Balmung and transfer them all on the one single $18 transfer fee.

I really wish they'd just make an RP server, then make you write out a character description sheet and summary to transfer on. Â It wouldn't have to be good, but it would have to take thought and effort.

We'd get our own server, unclog the servers we're on, and we'd be harder to gilspam.

On the bright side, whenever you do manage to get on Balmung, you'll find we have absolutely no gold spam... Because they can't get on the server either. :V

But it's worth it because there's always people on doing something, whether it's RP, FATEs, or whatever else you're in the mood for at the time.
