Been playing on Balmung since 2.0 dropped (somehow had never even heard of this game until the ARR beta) but before that played WoW, GW2, SWTOR, LOTRO, and spent a good fifteen minutes each in TERA, Wildstar, and D&D Online. What made FFXIV different? I couldn't exactly tell you to be honest but it just hits all right feels and buttons. The moment I first loaded it up and heard the music over the title screen my heart just clenched up and I felt like I was home. I love this ridiculous world and everyone in it. So I made a tiny punch Roe! In game her name is Kyrsslona Fyriachtwyn (luckily that is exactly as many characters as are allowed) but on the forum and in RP she goes by Cherry. She's a Seawolf raised by a Seawolf mom but far from the sea, she grew up primarily in Peace Garden in the Northern Shroud. Very much looking forward to meeting new people and expanding Cherry's list of pals and acquaintances! If you're keen to meet up with a spunky, cheerful Roe lass feel free to drop me a line in game.
