Hey everyone!

I discovered the site last night and was wondering if there is any RP presence on Cactuar at all? A friend of mine has bought a medium house to turn into a tavern so it can be used as an RP hub. I was wondering if anyone else here RPs on Cactuar that might be interested? Smile

This site seems to cater to people on Balmung or Gilgamesh exclusively, something that is unfortunately understandable given they are the official unofficial roleplay servers. As someone likewise not on either server I can empathize.

The RPC is meant as a resource for ALL servers, but it is true that the vast majority of users are on Balmung, followed by Gilgamesh and then some smaller communities on the other servers.

(Balmung has been crashing a lot more often than usual, which has opened up server availability sneak-ins without paying for a transfer).

A quick glance down the first 5 pages of the official Cactuar forums turned up no mentions of roleplay, unfortunately.

BUT:

"If you build it, they will come" definitely applies. If you set up something that is fun, looks and sounds like fun, and is advertised decently often to people that can attend (so other Cactuar folk), then you'll probably at least be able to get yourself a regular group of friends to roleplay with. Even a community of ~10 people can be really rewarding and fun to do storylines and daily-life roleplay with.

I'd recommend setting up an LFRP ("looking for roleplay") linkshell and posting about it in the linkshell hall; making a thread on the Cactuar forums that y'all are roleplaying, have a house by way of a venue, and a linkshell that people can be invited to for networking purposes; and making a /sh macro for use in capital cities and Gold Saucer to advertise all of the above.

I hope it works out for you! Small-community RP can be really satisfying.

You are just in luck! I am on Cactuar as well and I have been looking as well! I do not wish to move as I am pretty high up and have my FC here. Although my FC is NOT an RP FC, I do RP, just have not since I have not found anyone... until now.

Feel free to message me on here and we can get something setup! I might have one more person that might be interested in RP as well.
