Sadly the only way I've seen new character to be made is right after maintenance but you have to be fast, my friend just barely got her character made when the game came out of maintenance last night, I logged in 2 mins after she did, and there was a que already.

Eve isn't one big server though, they have hundreds and hundreds of instances supported by multiple servers, also they have more then one world now. I think it's like 5 Worlds? If one gets full or unbalanced they stuff you in another.

Â I can only hope perhaps sometime tonight they lift some of those character creation restrictions.

The status update on the front of the patcher states a whole list of what is 'closed' to new players.
Oh, I know. I'm asking if anyone knows if this restriction will be alleviated gradually.

During other phases of beta, and even shortly after launch, the restrictions on character creation were periodically lifted. SE is trying to avoid too many new characters in the starting zones, which could cause a zone crash. So, yes, I would expect that over time (hopefully outside of peak hours) the restriction will be lifted for a time. Eventually, as characters level out of those zones, the restrictions should be fully lifted.

What is the present status and might someone pm me if the restrictions get lifted?

I just want to establish a character, get her set up with a few levels. That way, I can attend the gala in halfway decent gear...

It looks as if over the last couple of hours they've only lost total capacity -- contrary to what they've been trying to achieve. Right now there's only one NA server available to new characters.

It is peak time, it is to be expected that they would restrict at these hours. I'm pretty sure, like others have said once the congestion calms after peak hours they will lift character restriction. Smile

The problem is that my work schedule precludes waking up early to log on. My free time is usually 4-midnight, which is pretty much the 8 hours of "peak".Â Sad

Hm . . . Judging from what I'm reading here, I was incredibly fortunate in that I was able to - FINALLY - create a character on Balmung today. I'm a pre-order player, so I was given the code for early access; however, the code I needed for said early access was sent to me late due to some manner of error on the part of those I pre-ordered the game from. What this means that I have been unable to get on to Balmung . . . Until now. I cannot tell you what a relief it is.

Sadly the server seems to have been closed to the creation of new characters again, so I am unable to create any of the alts I've been wanting to make. Ah well. At least I was able to create my most important RP character. ^.^

I have not created my important character, and with my biography sketched out there is little to do.

Reading your biography, seems there is a single Elezen my height...interesting genetic mutation in the Duskwight population!

If any of you who are having trouble getting on to Balmung happen to be online right now, you should try again. Right now. I was able to make my other character there just a little while ago.
